Provided you have submitted a COMPLETE entry blank, including all required numbers and signatures, you will not be required to show us your membership cards, measurement cards, or recording cards. We WILL NOT look up your numbers for you. If you have applied recently, online, you will be given an instant number so include it on your entry. Please do not mail Memberships to USEF, they will not be electronically verifiable for several weeks and we will be required to charge you non-member fees. 4 USEF EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT FEDERATION RULE BOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined DrivingCompetitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2)exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own NationalFederation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. Federation Entry Agreement: By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry form as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of the United States Equestrian Federation, Inc., (the Federation ) and the local rules of the competition. I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as final the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and/or participate under the rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry, the Federation and/or the competition may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cable-casts, or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the competition, sport, or the Federation. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to misappropriation. The construction and application of Federation rules are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any action instituted against the Federation must be filed in New York State. See GR STATEMENT AS TO FEDERATION FEE (GR ) For every horse participating in any competition licensed by the Federation, a $16 Federation Fee will be collected ($8 shall be an Equine Drugs & Medication Fee to provide for research, inspection and enforcement of rules regarding use of medications and drugs). The Horse Show Management reserves the right in itself to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to or arising out of an incident without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. All questions not covered in these Rules and Regulations shall be decided by the Horse Show Management, their decision to be final. The Horse Show Management reserves the right to limit entries, refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit exhibition of entries, and cancel award prizes, without claim for damages; to change any course, to add a dotted line, to cancel or combine any classes, or to reschedule classes, after due notice to exhibitors; to change rings or judges; to change specifications in jumper classes in order to facilitate the time schedule or as competition warrants, or make any changes management deems is in the best interest of the show and its exhibitors. Every horse entered for competition will be under the control of the Horse Show Management, but Management will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Horse Show, its members, directors and employees, contractors, sponsoring entities and facility harmless for any loss or accident to horse, horses or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise. 5 Everything You Need to Know Entry Closing: The entry closing date is the Monday before the show. Entries must be RECEIVED by this date to be considered on time. Entries completed ONLINE at will not be charged a late fee until 5pm the day before the show starts. IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING SPLITTING/COMBINING & ADD/SCRATCH POLICY IN ALL A RATED HUNTER SECTIONS Should entries warrant, all A rated hunter sections will be split or combined following USEF rules and will be done so at the close of the horse show office on the evening preceding the first class is each section, therefore entries MUST be completed for A rated hunter divisions accordingly to be considered. Any post-adds received and accepted after this time will not be considered in respect to the splitting/combining numbers. There will be no exceptions to this policy. Same day scratches and/or no-shows at the gate in all A rated hunter sections will forfeit their entry fee unless a Certificate from the Official Show Veterinarian vet scratch for the show is received by the official show secretary prior to the section in question. Should same day scratches or no-shows result in insufficient entries to keep sections split, sections will be combined. A Hunter Section Entry Fees: After showing in the first class of any A rated section requiring a section entry fee, no refunds will be given for scratching any classes within the section for any reason. Horse Recording: All horses competing in this competition must possess an USHJA Horse Registration - $ Any change of horse s name and/or ownership must be recorded with Federation. Stalls: For A Shows stalls are $160 for a single week. For AA shows stalls are $200. Circuit Stalls for all 8 shows $1100. Circuit stalls must be paid by Jan 25. Your circuit stall will remain in the same location for all 8 shows. Processing Fee: Each horse will pay a $40 per show at A and $50 per show at AA Processing Fee. This non-refundable fee will also entitle each horse to properly add/scratch regular classes at no additional cost and qualified onsite medical personnel during show hours. Horses scratching completely will be charged the appropriate scratch fee as well. USEF/USHJA Fees: All horses will be required to pay $16 USEF Fee ($8 D & M & $8 USEF) and $7 USHJA Fee. Schooling Fee: $20 per horse-schooling will be available in the show rings until 9:30pm each evening and will reopen at 6am. Schooling over fences may not be allowed in the morning, it will be posted and announced the night before if schooling over fences is permitted. Night Watch-$12: Will be charged to all horses to cover night watch from 7pm to 7am. Please attach night watch info card on your stall. Jumper Nominating Fee: Horses entered in prize money divisions at 1.25m and above will pay a $175 Jumper nomination. Horses entered in prize money divisions below 1.25 meter will pay $85. If showing in both only the higher fee will be charged. The Jumper Nomination Fee is refundable, less $50, as long as the horse is properly scratched prior to competing in any classes that require a nominating fee. Once the horse has competed in one class, the Nominating Fee is not refundable. No exceptions! Late/Incomplete Entries: There will be a charge of $25 per horse for mailed entries received after the closing date but prior to the first day of the show. Late fee is $50 if received on or after the first day of the show. Online entries accepted without late fee until 5pm the day before the show starts. Kindly get your entries in by the closing date. Adding Classes: BE AWARE THAT SAME DAY ADDS MAY NOT BE ALLOWED, ALWAYS ENTER THE DAY BEFORE THE CLASSES ARE SCHEDULED. Entries that show in a class that was not properly entered either by inclusion on your original entry form or a properly filled out add slip PRIOR to the class involved will be charged a $25 RDNE Fee, ANY ADDS COMING IN FROM THE GATE COMPUTER WILL BE INCLUDED IN THIS FEE. This charge will show on your statement as Late Add. Scratching Classes: This MUST BE DONE IN THE SHOW OFFICE on an official add/scratch slip. Full credit will be given for any classes scratched before the start of the class. Informing the starter that you do not intend to participate does not get you scratched in the office and will not qualify for a refund. Arrival and Departure: Horses may arrive the day before the show starts. Early arrival stalls are billed at $15 per day, arrangements must be made with Julie. If staying for multiple weeks in a row horses may layover and school between shows at a cost of $40 per horse per show. Refunds: Entries canceled prior to the closing date will be refunded in full. Scratch fees are $25 after closing date. Stalls and processing fee are not refundable for any reason after the closing date of entries. All scratches must be submitted in writing (Julie.agar@comcast.net) to be considered for a refund. NO REFUND requests will be considered after the close of the show. No Exceptions! If the show must be stopped due to a storm, accident, or other emergency, the show management has the right to deny a refund of any or all fees. Feed/Bedding: Bedding is available on the show grounds, stallreservations@countryheir.com for shavings 2 days before the show. Feed is by special request so please call Lino Rios for delivery

6 Health Requirements: At Federation licensed competitions, horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhino-pneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables. All horses must have valid proof of negative coggins test (within 12 months). A 30 day certificate of veterinary inspection is required for all horses arriving from outside the state of Ohio. Returned Checks: Checks returned by the bank for any reason are regarded as a most serious offense and will be handled as follows: A 10% Penalty will be assessed for every returned check (Minimum of $50). Accounts will be given ten days to be paid in full with cash or cash equivalent or they will be turned in to USEF for collection/disciplinary action. Prize Money/Awards: An IRS/W9 needs to be completed showing the proper prize money recipient and their SS or FED ID#. Care must be taken to be sure the information matches that of the IRS. Prize money will be deducted from your account upon closeout in the office provided you have filled out the required IRS/W9. Balances will be paid in the form of a check at the show or may be mailed to the named recipient on the W9 within 30 days after the conclusion of the show. The IRS W9 form is available in the show office. All Hunter purses of $500 or less shall be divided as follows unless otherwise specified:1 st -30% / 2 nd -22% / 3 rd -15% / 4 th -12% / 5 th -11% / 6 th -10%. Jumper purses will be. 1 st -30% / 2 nd -22% / 3 rd -15% / 4 th -12% / 5 th -11% / 6 th -10% unless specified. Ribbons shall be awarded to 8 th in all regular classes unless otherwise stated. Stabling: All stalls are permanent wood construction in heated barn, all barns are under one common roof. Please note that in the event stalls are sold out, preference will be given to circuit stalls and sponsors. Groups MUST complete the Stabling Block form at to insure they will be stabled together. Stabling cannot be re-arranged once the chart has been posted. Rings: Bradley Arena is 100 x 215, Lamar is 110 x 266, R & L Ring is 130 x 615. Courtesy Circle-In some instances it may become necessary to restrict the area of the courtesy circle by a mandatory line. If this is implemented it will be clearly marked on the course chart and a corresponding marker will be erected on the course. A public announcement will also be made. RV/Motor Homes: Camper spots are available for $145 week, $95 weekend or $40 for one night. Motorized Vehicles: Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry form as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. Leash Law: EVERYONE TAKE NOTE OF THE NEW RULE IN EFFECT ON DEC 1, Dog owners failing to comply with this rule must/will be issued a Yellow warning card by the steward or any competition official. Dogs are not permitted to be loose on competition grounds at any time and must be held on a leash or otherwise restrained. Individuals must not lead dogs on a leash while mounted. Dog owners are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from their dogs behaviors. Immediately following the receipt by the Federation of a third Yellow Warning Card indicating that a competitor, spectator, or participant has been issued three (3)Yellow Warning Cards within a (16) month period the Executive Director shall either levy a fine ranging from $500 to $1000 or a formal Charge pursuant to this Rule and GR604 alleging that the rules have been violated on all or any one of said three occasions pursuant to Chapter 6 of the Rules. Can you afford to break this rule? Foreign Checks: All foreign exhibitors must pay by cash or a check drawn on a US Bank. Medical Waste: Sharps must be placed in proper receptacles located in each barn. Failure to do this will result in a $100 fine or other penalties deemed necessary by the show management. Protective Headgear: It is compulsory for all persons at Federation licensed hunter/jumper competitions when mounted anywhere on the competition grounds, to wear properly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. It must be properly fitted with harness secured. It is the responsibility of the rider, or the parent, guardian or trainer of the junior exhibitor to see to it that the headgear worn complies with appropriate safety standards and is properly fitted and in good condition. Poling: Manual poling and the use of bamboo offsets are prohibited at all times. In the event of a violation of this rule, the involved horse and its trainer of record as indicated on the entry form will be suspended from further competition at the show in which the violation occurred. In addition, no refunds will be given for any unused fees. Check Out: Each show is separate and you MUST close out your account no later than Sunday each week. For your convenience there will be exhibitor s terminals available in the show office; we encourage you to look at your account early in the week and make any corrections while the office is quiet. If you wish us to fill in your check for you, we will be happy to. Please print your statement at the exhibitor s terminal and write on it please close out my check and drop the statement in our basket. If you are checking out more than one horse be sure to include a statement

7 for each horse and explicit instructions as to whose check we use for which horses. Remember to print two copies, one for us and one for you! Please look over the information on your statement and report any errors to a secretary immediately as to horse s name, riders, owners, addresses, association numbers, etc., so we may accurately report your results to the various organizations. Non-Showing Horses: All horses on the grounds are required to have a signed entry form in the office prior to schooling etc, whether they are showing or not. This entry form must include signatures and a complete description of the horse. Non-Showing horses will pay a fee of $100 per show. Scratched horses on the grounds are considered non-showing horses regardless of the reason. Circuit Awards and Horse Show Championships offered in each of these sections: In all Hunter Championships, the titles shall be awarded to two of the four horses which have acquired the most points over fences. In addition to these points, only these four horses shall receive full points for ribbons won in Under Saddle classes and half points for ribbons won in Model. Points awarded for all divisions as follows: /2 except Jumper bonus classes. Ties in USEF Hunter Championships shall be decided as specified in the USEF Rule Book. Others shall remain tied and shall flip/draw for the awards. Ties in Jumper divisions will be decided by the bonus class. 1 st Year Green Working Hunter, 2 nd Year Green Working Hunter, Green Conformation Hunter, High Performance, Regular Conformation Hunter, Small Junior Hunter Younger and Older, Large Junior Hunter Younger and Older, Junior Hunter 3 3, Amateur-Owner Hunter 18-35, Amateur-Owner Hunter 36/O, /A/O Hunter Low 3 3" & 36/O, Children s Hunter 14 & U, Children s Hunter 15-17, Adult Amateur Hunter 18-35, Adult Amateur Hunter 36-49, Adult Amateur Hunter 50/O, Small-Medium Green Pony Hunter, Large Green Pony Hunter, Small Pony Hunter, Medium Pony Hunter, Large Pony Hunter, Low Pre-Green Hunter, High Pre-Green Hunter, Small Hunter, Intermediate Adult Hunter, Intermediate Children s Hunter, Non-Pro Hunter, Non TB Hunter, Short Stirrup Hunter, Limit Hunter, Baby Green Hunter, Children s Hunter Pony, Children s Jumper, Intermediate Ch/Adult Jumper, Adult Amateur Jumper, Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper, High Junior/Amateur- Owner Jumper, 1.25m Jumper, 1.30m. Not all sections at all shows. HUNTER DIVISIONS The rated sections of this competition are official USEF point competitions for USEF National and USEF Zone Horse of the Year Awards Programs. All hunter classes to be judged on performance and soundness. Hunter Courses: Courses will consist of at least eight fences with changes of direction. Fences will simulate obstacles found in the hunt field, such as brush, post and rails, walls, in and outs, gates, etc. No bank or water jumps. Course diagrams will be posted no later than 30 minutes before the class. In some cases, the area of the courtesy circle may be restricted by a dotted line. Under Saddle classes to be shown at a walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring. No martingales permitted. In High Performance, A/O and Junior classes, entries may be asked to hand gallop collectively one way of the ring, at the Judge s discretion. No more than eight shall be asked to hand gallop at one time. Minimum entry requirements: Management reserves the right to combine Sections with less than eight entries. No split Section will be held with less than four entries. Handy Hunters Courses and jumps to simulate those found in trappy hunt country, and may include natural obstacles, a trot fence and a fence to lead over. GREEN WORKING HUNTERS A Green Hunter is a horse of any age in its first or second year of showing at USEF Recognized shows in classes with fences 3 6 or higher. 1 st Year Horses to jump 3 6 and 2 nd Year Horses to jump 3 9. Horses may cross enter between any other divisions where eligible. Fences 3 6 Section Fee: $240 (Model additional $20). Individual classes may not be entered except for Model. First Year Conformation 3 6 Regular Model Entry Fee: $ (H) $100 A CONFORMATION HUNTER O/F 21 - $100 A CONFORMATION U/S JUNIOR WORKING HUNTERS 3 3 & 3 6 AA Please NOTE the new sizes for Junior Hunters went into effect Dec 1, Small is 16.0 and under, Large is now OVER 16 hands. If you have a horse that is measured at 16.0 you likely want to have it re-measured with no penalty. Open to horses of any age and ridden by a junior exhibitor. Horse/Rider combination is restricted from showing in both Children s and Junior Hunter Sections at the same show. Riders showing in the 3 3 section may not compete at 3 6 or above in hunters or above 3 9 in Equitation at the same show. All horses showing at a Regular Member show in the Junior Hunter Section must have a current USEF measurement card. Section Fee $240.
