3 PERFORMANCE CLASSIC 2018 JUNE 30, 2018 MURIETA EQUESTRIAN CENTER General Rules and Information This is an ASPC/AMHR/ASPR sanctioned show, open to any ASPC/AMHR/ASPR registered horse whose exhibitor is able to show proof of valid registration. Horses will be judged and classes will be run in accordance with ASPC/AMHR/ASPR rules. It is the responsibility of each exhibitor to know the rules and regulations as well as the requirement of each class entered. A copy of the official rule book may be found in the show office. It is also available online at Exhibitors must provide a copy of valid registration papers for each horse entered, and a copy of their Amateur Card (if applicable) with their entry form. Amateur Cards may be purchased at the show from the Show Steward for $10. Measuring All horses shall be measured in accordance with ASPC/ AMHR rules. If your horse has a current year measurement card or has been measured within the last 60 days, please submit a copy of your card with your entry. All horses will be measured by the Show Steward with an official certified ASPC/AMHR measuring stick at the times listed below. Any other time will be at the convenience of the Show Steward upon request, but not to interfere with his/her show responsibilities. Measuring Times: Friday, June 29: 4:00 pm 7:00 pm Saturday, June 30: 7:00 am to 7:45 am Registration papers and other necessary paperwork must be presented to the Show Steward for each animal entered at the time of measurement. To expedite measuring, please come to the measuring area with the horses free of blankets, sheets, hoods, sleezies, etc., and make sure you have your paperwork filled out in advance. Awards This show has two judges. Points and awards will be given by each judge. First and second place winners will receive Show Dough in the amount of $2 and $1 respectively in lieu of a ribbon. Show Dough traded for a ribbon, used to pay show fees, or can be exchanged for cash. Sorry, Show Dough can t be used at the Murieta Cafe. Ribbons will be awarded to third through sixth place. Championship ribbons will be awarded to first and second place winners in the driving stakes classes. Entry Procedures Entries close June 15, Entries postmarked after June 15, 2018 will be charged a post entry fee of $25/ horse. Entries must be on the official entry form for this show. Entry forms may by photocopied for use. All requested information must be provided for each horse entered. Forms will not be accepted unless they are complete and accompanied by required fees and a copy of the AMHR or ASPC registration papers for the horse on the entry form. All entries must include the complete name and registration number of the horse exactly as it is shown on the registration papers. No numbers will be released without full payment of all fees. No entries will be accepted over the phone. Exhibitors are responsible for the accuracy of the entry forms prepared by themselves or their agents. There will be a $50 charge for all checks returned due to lack of funds. This must be paid before entry numbers will be issued. Amateur Exhibitors Must have an official Amateur Card to show in amateur classes. If a photocopy of your Amateur Card is not provided when you mail your entry, bring your Amateur Card to the show office when you pick up your packet. Amateur Cards may also be purchased for a fee from the Show Steward after proof of current ASPC/AMHR/ASPR membership. Youth Exhibitors This show is participating in the ASPC/AMHR Youth High Point program. To be eligible for the Shetland and/or Miniature Youth High Point award, ASPC/AMHR/ASPR youth membership is required. Youth membership is free. Membership forms are available online at and will also be available at the show. Gelding Status Must be shown on registration forms Out of state horses Coggins test (current within 1 year), and health certificate within 30 days must be provided. Foals 6 months and younger do not require Coggins. Page 3

4 PERFORMANCE CLASSIC 2018 JUNE 30, 2018 MURIETA EQUESTRIAN CENTER Post Entries/Adding Classes After the closing date for entries, June 15, 2018, a flat post entry fee of $25 per horse will be charged. Additional classes for horses entered by June 15 may be added without a post-entry penalty. Post entries for added classes will be accepted up to five classes prior to the class entering the ring, provided that the horse is determined to be eligible for entry. Post entries made for the first five classes of the day will be accepted up to one-half hour prior to the first class entering the ring. Post entries made during the show must be made at the show office. Management reserves the right to accept entries for unfilled classes. Scratched Classes Refunds No entry fees will be refunded without a veterinarian s certificate as to the unsoundness of the entered horse. This must be presented to the show manager before the first class of the day. Failure to show a horse that has been entered constitutes a forfeiture of entry fees. In the event of the sudden illness of a horse after the entry deadline, exhibitor may substitute another animal at no additional charge. If done at the show, it must be done with the timeframe outlined in the Post Entry section. Refunds will be mailed to exhibitors after the conclusion of the show. Scheduling, Gate Holds, Etc. If you need a gate hold for an equipment change, please notify the show office at least five classes in advance. We ll do our best to accommodate you, but we have a full class schedule and need to limit gate holds to three minutes if possible. Breaks will be announced. Food and Beverage Food and beverages will be available for sale during the show at the Murieta Cafe concession near the arena. Page 4

Water is metered, please use this precious resource wisely 2. All garbage must be placed in appropriate disposal areas 3. Horses must only be washed in wash racks 4. Dogs must be on leash at all times and are not permitted in the food senrice areas, concessions or bleachers. Proof of rabies vaccination for _;tl!_dogs brought to the Facility is required 5. When stabling at MEC, please bring a water bucket and hose. Please do not empty your water buckets in the stall at the end of the show. 6. All participants are responsible to sign a liability release with show management 7. Parking permitted ONLY in designated areas only (please be aware of fire and emergency access). ALL HORSE TRAILERS & RV's must be parked in designated parking areas. There will be no trailers permitted in the barn isles, including the side and front of the barn's, show management is responsible for enforcing and reinforcing this rule throughout the show. 8. Advertisements and flyer postings are ONLY allowed on the designated "posting board" located at the main indoor arena 9. All RV's or living quarters are subject to fees. A "fees paid" sticker will be issued and must be visible to MEC personnel in the window of the vehicle 10. No entrance into designated areas marked "PRIVATE". Please be extra courteous to our resident clients, guests, patrons and horses 11. A current Driver's License is required for ANY motorized vehicle being operated on grounds. This includes children on motorized skate boards and scooters or golf carts 12. Trailer-in exhibitors must refrain from emptying all manure from their trailers in the parking areas. 13. 11 P erf rmance MURIETA EQUESTRIAN CENTER ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND WAIVER For valuable consideration and to induce permission to participate in equestrian activities held at Murieta Equestrian Center ( MEC ), 7200 Lone Pine Drive, Rancho Murieta, CA 95683, each of the undersigned agrees to the following terms and makes the following warranties: I acknowledge that participating in equestrian activities, whether as a show participant or an audience member, is a HAZARDOUS RECREATION ACTIVITY with RISK of damage or PERSONAL INJURY, including PARALYSIS OR DEATH, to any person or property. Equines have the propensity to behave in ways that may result in injury, harm, or death to persons on or around the equine; have unpredictable reactions to such things as sounds, sudden movement, and unfamiliar objects, persons, or other animals; are susceptible to certain hazards such as surface or subsurface conditions, collisions with other equines or objects; propensities include kicking, biting, stamping, stumbling, rearing, and others; tack equipment can fail resulting in falling or loss of control; and activities have the potential of the participant(s) to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury to the participant or others, such as failing to maintain control over the equine or not acting within the participant s ability. Equine activities are INHERENTLY DANGEROUS. I understand this is not a complete description of all risks and that other unknown or unforeseeable hazards and risks of harm may occur. With this in mind, I accept full responsibility for my own safety and EXPRESSLY ASSUME ALL RISKS OF HARM, whether foreseen or unforeseen while participating in equestrian activities at the Murieta Equestrian Center. I am physically fit and know of no medical or health reason why I should not participate in this activity. I hereby RELEASE and agree to DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS MEC, Cosumnes Corporation, their shareholders, officers, employees, agents, instructors, equipment manufacturers, lessors, and insurers (hereinafter collectively referred to as Parties Released ), from and against any liability, demand, claim, or right of action for any damage or injury, including paralysis or death, to any person or property, even if such damage or personal injury results from the NEGLIGENCE of MEC or other Parties Released.
