There will be a dinner planned for Friday evening to celebrate several of our long time members. More information will be posted soon on these events. Showcasing the best ranches around the world will convey a fun, positive and entertaining activity that can be attractive and enjoyed by many. Please make plans to attend the US National Show in Ft. Portable Cooling Systems/ Electrical Requirements: For stalling, please follow these guidelines provided by the WRMC staff: The only portable water-cooled fans allowed must meet the power requirements outlined below and have a self-contained water source. There are 5 amps of power available to every stall in the Richardson-Bass and Burnett Buildings. This will basically accommodate one box fan. Multi-plug devices will not be allowed (i.e. plug strip). Only one cord may be plugged into each single outlet. Only extension cords with appropriate GFCI protection will be allowed. Extension cords and power strips may not be used to operate multiple appliances simultaneously. No small air conditioners, heaters, or margarita machines are allowed in the stalling areas. We have limited electrical use; we must provide power to all exhibitors for fan use. If a small air conditioner or heater is reported, it will be turned off immediately and the owner will be asked to remove it. Post hydrants are available for exhibitor use at the end of each row of stalls. These may not be left on indefinitely. They must be turned off after each use. They may not be connected to portable water-cooled fans, misting systems, etc., which require a continuous water supply. Signs, Posters, Etc.: If any promotional material placed on any of the Horse Show Facility s property defaces or destroys the property, parties responsible may be charged for the cost of having the property repaired or replaced US National Show

19 HEALTH REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMITTING HORSES INTO TEXAS All horses must have a: 1. Negative Coggins (Equine Infectious Anemia) dated no earlier than October Health Certificate issued no earlier than September 23rd, 2017 by a licensed veterinarian from the state of origin. These documents will be checked upon arrival by the Barn Manager (Carole Hackett) Make sure the veterinarian uses registered names on the health and Coggins certificates rather than barn names. If current Coggins, health papers and a copy of the Certificate of Registration are not available, the horse will not be allowed to compete and entry fees will be forfeited. All horses are subject to inspection by the Show Veterinarian or State Veterinarian at any time or if suspected of harboring a communicable disease. It is recommended that horses being brought to the Nationals be vaccinated for West Nile Virus. Additionally, owners of horses should ask their veterinarians about a booster shot for West Nile Virus. It is important to remember that vaccines that protect your horse against Western, Eastern and Venezuelan equine encephalitis do not protect against encephalitis caused by West Nile Virus. If you vaccinate against Western, Eastern and/or Venezuelan encephalitis, you should vaccinate against West Nile Virus, as well. Consult your veterinarian to set up a vaccination schedule appropriate for your horse. Conduct and Safety: The National Show expects the highest standard of ethics from its exhibitors and those persons under their authority and will tolerate no act of disobedience or discourtesy toward any show official, under penalty of disqualification or expulsion from the show. Courtesy toward fellow exhibitors and the viewing public is compulsory at all times. Cruelty to any horse, by any person, at this show will NOT be tolerated. Exhibitors shall at all times take whatever steps are necessary to protect themselves, their horses, and the viewing public. SUPERVISE JUNIORS! Responsibility: Entries are accepted with the understanding that the 2017 NAPHA U.S. National Show and the Will Rogers Equestrian Center will not be held responsible for any loss, personal injury, or damage to horses exhibited or for any article of any kind or nature that may be lost or destroyed or in any way damaged. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the Show Committee but solely at the risk of the exhibitor, who will be responsible for any injury that may be occasioned to any person or animal or damage to any property while on the grounds by any horse owned or exhibited by him and shall indemnify the management against all claims or damages of any kind or nature, including attorney fees and court costs, that may grow out of any injury occasioned by any horse owned or exhibited by him or arising from any cause whatever, including the negligence of himself or any other person, including the person in charge of any such horse. 15

20 Show Rules & Regulations: Everything is being done to conduct this show on the highest possible level and for the pleasure and safety of exhibitors and spectators. The best adjudication officials to be found have been selected and they will place awards to the horses as they see them presented in the ring without regard for previous records or performances. The National show is desirous of fair treatment for all exhibitors. All showing procedures and judging percentages as well as definitions, class descriptions, descriptions of gear and attire, rules and regulations, conduct and ethics and conditions for this show are described in the aforementioned named publications.
