2 Show Regulations Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the Show Regulations, and Exhibitors/Competitors will be assumed to be fully aware of the Contents there of. 1. SUBSCRIPTIONS are payable in advance in January. Members who have not yet paid their Subscriptions of 8.00 are requested to do so to the Secretary. All annual subscriptions and entry money must be paid to the Secretary along with entries (exemption late entries taken on show day only). 2. All dogs entering the showground must be kept on a lead at all times. 3. All Stock entered for Show must be in Showground before Judging commences at am. 4. An ADMISSION PASS to the Showground will be issued for each Member whose subscription has been paid for the current year. 5. Entries only from BRUCELLOSIS ACCREDITED HERDS in the CATTLE classes (except for bullocks in the 'Any Other Breed Section.) 6.WARBLE FLY ERADICATION. In compliance with a request from the Divisional Veterinary Officer, we cannot accept entries of Warble affected Animals. 7. MAEDI VISNA - only fully accredited and non-designated sheep will be allowed to compete. Separate stalling for both will be available. Strict conditions apply to accredited sheep on return from the Show and details thereof may be obtained from Signet Farm Business, PO Box 604 Milton Keynes. SCRAPIE - all females of all breeds entered/exhibited should be empty, should not have lambed within 30 days prior to the Show and not subject to procedures which change the seasonal breeding pattern. 8. JUDGING of stock commences at am Light Legged Horses (9.30am for Cattle/sheep, am for Clydesdales/Shetlands) as per the Schedule. The Judges (each set having at its disposal a member of the Show Committee) will commence the examination of the Exhibits at the selected times advertised (8.30 am for Light Legged Horses at 9.30am for Sheep/Cattle and am for Clydesdales/Shetlands). Sections being judged simultaneously will not be delayed under any circumstances. 9. PARADE OF PRIZE STOCK - all prize cattle and horses in halter are to be paraded at the Show at 2.00 pm. Any case of refusal to parade will be reported to the Show Committee and the prize money withheld. 10. The Show Committee shall not be liable for any loss or damage which may rise from injury to any exhibit, either during the Show or during transit. 11. The Show Committee shall decide all questions respecting premiums and other matters connected with the Show, and their decision by the mouth of their Convener, shall be final and not subject to any review whatever. 12.Stock for special or extra prizes is subject to the same Rules and Conditions as for any other prizes, excepting in this, that where Special Conditions are annexed to a special or extra prize; such special conditions shall prevail over the ordinary Rules and Regulations. 13. Every Lot must be intimated by a Certificate of Entry lodged with the Secretary by the 1 ST June Every Lot must be on the Showground no later than 8.30 am on the day of Show and penned (where pens are provided) and cannot be Removed before 3.00 pm, without Secretary s Permission. 15. All exhibits shall during the Show be in charge of exhibitors by themselves or Servants, and shall be placed in the Showground according to the directions of the Show Committee. 16. The Premiums awarded will be paid on Show day to all exhibitors who have paraded their stock, where applicable. 17. No one will be admitted within the Rings or Pens while exhibits are being judged except where the Judges, Members of the Show Committee who may be in attendance upon them, Officers of the Society upon necessary business and those in charge of stock. 18. The decision of the Judges shall be final and not subject to review on any grounds whatever. 19. A protest can only be lodged on either or both of the following grounds; i) That the exhibitor is not qualified to compete, or ii) That the exhibitor is excluded by the Conditions or Rules of Competition. 20. Every protest must be made in writing and must be delivered during the Show at the Secretary's Office in the Showground. A deposit of 25 must be lodged with each protest and the Show Committee shall have power to withhold repayment if any expense has been Incurred, or if they consider the protest unnecessary or trivial. 21. On the second Tuesday after the Show, the parties to a protest must be in attendance at the Office of the Secretary of the Society at 7.30 pm with such evidence as to them may seem proper, when the protest will be disposed of by the Show Committee, whose decisions by the mouth of their Convener, shall be final, and not subject to any review whatever. 22. In the event of a Prize being awarded to an exhibit, against which or its exhibitor a protest has been lodged and sustained, as provided in Rules 19, 20 and 21, such prize shall be Forfeited and shall be due to the exhibit (If any) which the Judges shall have found to be next in order of merit. 23. In no case shall a Premium be awarded unless the Judges shall deem the exhibit of sufficient merit. 24. All Pedigree stock must be entered in their respective Herd Books or the exhibitor must produce a Certificate from the Council of the Society there of that his animal is eligible to be entered therein. Stud book numbers for registered Sections must be stated on Entry Forms. 25. Breeding stock must not be shown in an improper state of fatness, and the Judges are hereby prohibited from awarding premiums to overfed animals. 26. All cows must have their calves within the year and, when exhibited must either be in milk or calf. Those in milk must be milked during the time of the Show. 27. Bulls of one year old and upwards must be haltered and led. 28. Horses of one year old and upwards must be haltered and led. 29. The ages of all animals must be reckoned from 1st January in the year of birth, except where otherwise stated. 30. No substitute entries will be accepted in Light Horse classes. 31. Please note that entry fees are non-returnable in the event of the show being cancelled for reasons out with the Show Committee s control. 32. Attendants, when showing animals in the judging ring and on parade, must wear number at all times. 33. Livestock Exhibitors and Attendants will be admitted to the Showground only on production of a valid Stock Attendants Wr ist Band or Admission ticket, otherwise gate charges will apply. 34. Correctly secured British Standard Skull Caps/Riding Hats No. PAS015,VG1, ASTM F a onwards, SNELL E2001, AS/NZSVG1, ASTM F a onwards, SNELL E2001, AS/NZS onwards that Meet current Safety Standards MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted this rule applies to all Those entering/riding/exercising animals for all classes. Earrings and body studs must not be worn. 35. The Show Committee will not be held responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever. All Exhibitors must have Public Liability Insurance. 36. Prize Money not collected by 5pm on Day of Show, will be treated as a Donation.

3 37. Attendants are responsible for their Stock and must remain in close attendance of their Stock in Showground at all times. Failure to comply with this rule will result in exhibitor being asked to Leave Showground. 38. Exhibitors are requested to note timetable. Where an animal is entered in more than one class, the Show Committee can take no responsibility if a clash in time/classes occurs. 39. In case of inclement weather the Show Committee reserve the right to withhold part or whole of the Sports Competition. 40. As a winner of a trophy at Alyth & District Agricultural Show you shall be keeper of the trophy for one Year and after this time return the trophy to Alyth Show Trophies can be collected and signed for from the Secretary s Tent before 4pm on the day of the show, winners taking their Trophies on Show Day must arrange for the Trophy to be engraved at their own cost. Trophies left with the Trophy Convenor can be collected directly from Tannadice Trophies, Forfar, Trophies will be ready from August, please call in advance to ensure your specific trophy is ready. Those Trophies not collected on Show Day or directly from Tannadice Trophies by the end of August can be collected by arrangement from Ruth King, Alyth Show Trophy Convener, If a Trophy is lost or damaged in anyway whilst with the keeper the trophy is to be replaced with another of similar value. 42. No cars to be parked in the Livestock Area s (except by prior Show Committee approved) 43. All stock must be bona fide property and have been in actual possession of the exhibitor before 1st April 2017 the regulations should be read before any entry form is completed and signed. Note: Cattle Passports MUST be carried with Exhibitors to the show and be produced, if requested, by the Department of Agriculture & Fisheries. Copies of the current, valid green SAC certificate or Health Status Report MUST accompany entry forms where applicable and the green SAC certificate or Health Status Report MUST be given to your Steward on Show day BEFORE animals can be unloaded. Unless stated on the entry form stock will be assumed to be non-accredited. All Females to all Breeds to be entered and/or exhibited must be non-pregnant have not lambed within 30 days prior to entry to Show, Not subject to procedures which changed the seasonal breeding programme. 9 HORSES Horse Entry Money and Prize Monies for each class will be as follows Horse Entry Fee Prizes: 1st nd rd 6.00 Plus Rosettes Whilst every effort has been made, the Show Committee DOES NOT take responsibility for classes clashing. All classes are open to members and non-members of these Associations and Societies. Clydesdale, Highland, Shetland, VHS, CHAPS, BSPS, NPS and The Showing Register and must be registered with their respective pure breed societies. All animals must be named on the entry form, with the exception of foals born after the entry is submitted. The Show Committee has endeavored to schedule several classes for each exhibitor. However, classes will not be Held up, nor will the organisers be responsible if exhibitors miss classes that they have entered. Exhibitors must have an attendant with each exhibit during judging, otherwise the stock cannot be judged. An attendant must also be With each exhibit during the Parade. Classes will not be delayed for exhibitors competing in other classes. NOTE: Brood Mares, which have lost their foals in the year of exhibition, may compete in the class on provision of a Veterinary Certificate stating that the foal died or was prevented, owing to illness or accident, from being shown. Foals must be at least three weeks old on the day of the Show. Classes may be split at the discretion of the Show Officials. PLEASE NOTE Livestock Exhibitors and Attendants will be admitted to the Showground only on production of a valid Stock Attendants Wrist Band otherwise gate charges will apply. Wristbands must be worn at all times on showground. THE BLUE CHIP NATIVE BSPS HERITAGE SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP RIDDEN ES Ponies, Owners and Riders need not be B.S.P.S. Members to compete in the Olympia Breed Semi-Final qualifying classes but pony, owner and Rider will need to register to compete in the SEMI-FINAL to be held at the B.S.P.S. Heritage Show. Blair Castle Working Hunter Pony Series: Ponies placed first to fourth in the qualifying classes will qualify for the s held at the Blair Castle International Horse Trials & Country Fair in August Qualification may go down to sixth place if higher placed ponies have previously qualified. (Intermediate WH Excluded) Blair Castle Ridden Clydesdale Series: To be judged as a ridden hunter class. This class is a qualifier for the Blair Castle Ridden Clydesdale s to be held at the Blair Castle International Horse Trials & Country Fair in August The first two in each class to qualify. Qualification may go down to fourth place, if horses placed 1 st and 2 nd have previously qualified. Registered Clydesdales and those eligible for registration may qualify and enter for the. EASTERN BMW/BHS SCOTLAND WORKING HUNTER SERIES 2018: Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair Qualifier. The first three prize winners will qualify for the final of the Stewarts Building Services/British Horse Society Working Hunter Series which will be held at Blair Castle August To be eligible for the final either the rider or the owner must be a member of the British Horse Society. SHETLAND PONY SOCIETY: Shetland Pony Society Classes must be confined to Registered Ponies. Ponies must be named on the entry form and in the catalogue. Society rosettes must only be given to ponies registered with the Society or eligible for registration. Three year old fillies with foals at foot must not be shown. All foals should be a minimum of 3 weeks old on the day of the Show. There must be no colts or entire males in Young Handler classes. Children under 14 years old may not show colts (excluding foals) or entire males in In-hand classes. Children under 11 years old on the day of show may not show entire males the interests of safety, hard hats must be worn by all handlers 14 years or under in In-hand classes. Hard hats must be worn by all exhibitors, irrespective of age, in ridden classes. In ridden classes, if a rider falls off at any time whilst in the ring, both pony and rider must leave the ring, rider dismounted, and takes no further part in ridden classes. VETERAN HORSE SOCIETY - QUALIFIER 2018 This is a qualifier for the Veteran Horse Society Supreme Final: SCOTTISH VETERAN HORSE OF THE YEAR Kindly Sponsored by Allen & Page. Each VHS affiliation in Scotland now holds a PRE-QUAL Supreme Final qualification. There is no 2nd round - each show has the same qualifying status. Open to members and non-members. However, only Members may go forward to the of the day. VHS Membership to be applied for no later than 1 week prior to this show, to avoid disappointment. VHS Scottish Supreme (Pre-Judging) Final qualification. ONLY MEMBERS placed 1st to 2nd in each age category will go to the Veteran of the Day. In all classes - if competitors placed 1st or 2nd are not Members qualification will be given to 3rd & 4th providing they are Members. Qualification will not go lower than 4th place. If the Champion or Reserve has qualified then 2nd or 3rd reserve may take qualification. The highest placed Mountain and Moorland in each class will receive entry to the pre-judging of the Mountain & Moorland Supreme Final providing they are Members. This may-be carried down to 4th place. To be registered with a Breed Society and hold a current Breed Society passport. The In-Hand Champion and Reserve and the Ridden Champion and Reserve will each qualify for the Supreme final pre judging on 16th September All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances. Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification. Champions and Reserve - Both In-Hand and Ridden must have their showing card signed by the judge in the ring as proof of qualification. This will qualify through the pre-judging of the Supreme. Competitors to present their Show Card to the Judge for qualification. Should the be combined the top 2 ridden and top 2 in-hand go forward. Young Rider qualification. A Young Rider qualification will be awarded to the young rider of the Judge's choice, entitling them to enter the Young Rider Prior to the Supreme Final. NPS Scotland/Kilmannan Stud Novice Ridden Mountain & Moorland Stallions, mares and geldings four years old and over, registered in the main body of their respective Breed Society stud book. A pony is not eligible to compete if, before 1st January in the current year, it has done any of the following: i. Won an open NPS affiliated mixed M&M Ridden class ii. Qualified for Horse of the Year Show, Olympia or RIHS Open M&M Ridden classes iii. Qualified for the M&M Novice or Intermediate Ridden final at the NPS Summer show (N.B. NPS Scotland/Kingfisher Building Products Mountain & Moorland Open WHP. Stallions, mares and geldings five years old or over, registered in the main body of their respective Breed Society stud book. Ponies may be measured at the judge's discretion. Rider any age, except stallions (see Rule 10). Riders may only ride one pony in each class. Ponies may be shown in any suitable bridle. All ponies forward for final judging must be stripped. The 2 highest placed ponies, in each class not already qualified, will qualify for the Final. Qualifications to go no lower than 4th place. CHAPS (UK) This show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse & Pony Society (UK). Affiliation No Both owner and the rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. However in order to Qualify both Owner and Rider/Exhibitor need to be a current showing member and present their valid Qualifier card IN THE RING for signing by the judge. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for appropriate qualifier card. The CHAPS (UK) Show will be held on 30th August-1st September Shows held on or after the Postal Entry closing date of Show will count as 2019 qualifiers.
