1 ARABIAN HORSE ASSOCIATION REGION I DIRECTOR S MESSAGE Because our newsletter is coming out before my first Board of Director s Meeting in March, high lights of the meeting will be presented at the March 17, 2018 Delegates Meeting. Now that is St. Paddy s Day, so I expect to see a sea of green at the tables. I have checked with Penny Wardlaw, who filled in for Georgia Tachoires, as chair of the Membership Committee at convention. There was nothing that needs to come to the board, so I am going to make the assumption that there was nothing that needed to come to the delegates, with the exception of the price increase of the basic membership fee in April of this year. As of April 1, 2018 the basic membership fee will be $ I am starting to staff the Regional show and am always looking for volunteers to help with gates, ribbons and various and assorted jobs at the Regional Show, which will be held from May 16-20, 2018 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. If you are inclined to help YOUR region put on a good show please let me know when you are available to help and I will find a spot for you. Roll Call: Executive Board: Mimi Gaffey, Director, Kathy Callahan Smith, Vice Director, Rose Marie Henry, Treasurer, Debbie Orr- Price, Secretary, and Mary Anne Hughes, Past Director. Treasurer s Report: Report Given by Rose Marie Henry. Balance of $73, Horse show has their seed money back. We are still waiting for the refund money from the State. Report filed for audit. Live Streaming: Bob Insko made a motion to approve live streaming at Region I, Phil Bourgeois 2 nd. Discussion was made and the fees per horse were discussed. It was unanimously voted No. New Business. Ted Lange requested permission for the SCHAA club to make the January 2018 show a Reg 1 and 2 qualifying show. It must be asked by any clubs where shows may be affected. Acting Director, Kathy Callahan Smith, requested a vote. It was unanimously approved by the attending delegates. Resolutions Working western and the Equitation and Showmanship Committees have the most resolutions. Everyone should look over your resolutions prior to convention.
