Horses & Ponies cannot compete in any Show Hunter classes, using the ESNZ Casual Equine Start. All Riders must have a current ESNZ Rider Membership. 1. There will be NO Practice Rounds on any day. 2. All Horses & Ponies will be allocated their own back number, which they will be required to wear at all times while competing. 3. All Horses and Ponies must have gained 20 points in the current season before the commencement of the Show to be eligible to start in any Show Hunter class at the Horse of the Year Show. 4

5 4. Horse, Pony, Junior and Amateur Show Hunter of the Year title classes will be run in the same applicable ring as the previous day s classes. 5. Non-Championship classes may be split if sufficient entries are received. 6. Riders must notify the Show Hunter Office of possible conflicts with other rings, as soon as possible, ideally the day before the class is due to run or at the beginning of the day where conflicts may occur. 7. Classes: 102 (C), 107 (J), 113 (B), 118 (Am), 121 (Open Horse) & 124 (A) all entries will jump a course. From this the TOP 10 Equines with scores of 66% and over will be called back and will be judged under saddle. Points will be awarded in the following way: 20 points for the top equine, 18 points for the next, 16 for the next and so on down to the bottom Equine. These points will be added to the jumping score to give an overall result for the class. The rider must complete the Under Saddle section on the same Equine as was used in the Jumping Section. 8. As Equitation is a rider class you will only be able to enter one mount 9. Qualification for Series Equitation classes at HOY will be based on those competitors meeting the required 20 qualifying points in registered classes and also the first 20 place getters on the Equitation Series Leader board preceding the start of HOY competition. 10. Equitation Classes for Category C, B & A Pony Riders. Those riders who have ponies in different categories e.g. a C and B pony may compete each pony in the appropriate Category. I.e. they can ride the C pony in class 105 and the B pony in class Equitation Classes: 104 Category C, 115 Category B, 126 Category A and 133 Open Eq Championship will be judged with a Jumping section and a Flat Section. The Riders that will be required for the Flat Section will be those who scored 66% and over in the Jumping section of the class, with a maximum of 10 Riders called back in each class( the 10 riders with a score of 66% and over will be those who are called back). Flat section Points will be awarded in the following way: 20 points for the top rider, 18 points for the next, 16 for the next and so on down to the bottom Rider. These points will be added to the jumping score to give an overall result for the class. The rider must complete the flat section on the same Equine as was used in the Jumping Section. The following will apply for ALL Pony Show Hunter classes at the Horse of the Year Show. Ponies can only enter the Category appropriate to their certificated height. Current height certificates must be carried and produced if asked for by Show Hunter Officials. Category A: Ponies 133 cm and under m (10 ) stride Fence height max 70cm Category B: Ponies over 133 cm up to and including 143 cm 3.20 m (10 6 ) stride Fence height max 80cm Category C: Ponies over 143 cm up to and including 148 cm 3.35 m (11 ) stride Fence height max 90cm 5

6 Show Hunter of the Year Title Classes All Title Classes will be draw order and this order will be strictly adhered to. There will be a call-back for all Show Hunter of the Year title classes. Presentations for all classes will take place in the SH presentation area. If the timetable allows winners may parade in the premier ring. Late Entries/Changes Entries close on 1st February Late entries requiring Qualification will be accepted up until the 27 th of February. Be aware that absolutely no new late entries will be accepted after this date. Changes & substitutions to existing Show Hunter entries will be permitted at the show but must be received no later than 5pm the day before the event is due to start. These changes must be presented to the main HOY office. Title changes must be received by noon Thursday the 9 th of March. 6
