4 On Nov we were at Keystone Conference to raise money for incoming State President Jim Hinderliter and Auxiliary President Beth Howell. There was a good attendance and it was a great success. Great to see all that was there and they gave me a good workout. On Sunday November 13th we attended District 8 meeting. There was 18 in attendance, they are doing some By-Law changes for the District and each Aerie gave their reports and activities and donations. District 8 seems to be doing well. They are taking about trying to get a license plate started throughout Pennsylvania promoting the Fraternal Order of Eagles, they are going to bring it up at State officer meeting. They had a very good meal afterwards. Ruthie and I visited Kutztown Aerie #839 on Friday night and was met by Trustee Mike, Vice-President George, Treasurer Daron who is an excellent cook, and Inside Guard/Bar Manager Marcy. We had a great time and Mike took us for a tour of the Aerie. We started out in Stroudsburg and was met by Joe Minarik the President, Trustee Bill, Secretary Mike, Auxiliary Secretary Linda and Chris and Cat the bartenders. There were 12 members present and they gave us a tour of the Aerie. We had a great time with some great people. They have some boxes for a needy family that just had twin babies and a box for presents for kids. Larry took us to lunch and then we headed for Allentown where we were met by President Tyroon, Ladies Secretary Jody and Gorgine the Bartender. There was 4 members present and we visited for a while. Then we went to Bethlehem where we were met by President Frank, Conductor Larry, Inside Guard Richie, Shirley Cosner and Bartender Randi. They had karaoke and the place was packed. Don, Shirley, Larry and I sang songs with a lot of the members singing too. It was great to see a younger group there and having a good time. Then we headed back to the hotel for some Sleep!!!!!!!!!! On Sunday we went to Kutztown for District Eleven meeting. The Ladies had their meeting first and invited the men to visit they gave Don a check for his charity and shame on me I forgot to introduce my lovely wife and it cost me $5.00 fine towards Genie s Charity. There was 21 present at the District meeting and it was run very well Don spoke about his Charity - Juvenile Diabetes and Kutztown said they are sponsoring 35 families for meals for Christmas. Afterwards Kutztown put out a Thanksgiving meal fit for a King. It was delicious Daron you missed your calling. 6 You are encouraged to participate in the Annual Christmas Donation in lieu of sending cards to everyone. This idea was initiated by PSP Arco DiNardo several years ago and has great merit. Instead of buying commercial cards and paying postage for the holiday mailings to your Eagle list, why not donate the money to the Eagle Charities through the State Aerie. Your holiday greetings and donation will be published in the December newsletter if you send it in by December 1. If it comes in later, the donation will be in the January issue. Let s put our dollars where we help others in the spirit of the Holidays. Send your donation check (made out to the charity of your choice) and your holiday greetings to: PA State Aerie, PO Box 349, Waynesburg, PA 15370
