3 Pennsylvania State President Report Stanley C. Hill Sr December, 2018 With the holidays coming not much travel this month everyone busy getting ready for Santa. On 12/14; John, Deb and myself headed to Blairsville # 1488, we arrived at the hotel and got in touch Dwaine and Christine Shupe, they took us to dinner and Dwaine s supervisor Rich met us there. We had a meal and then went over to the Aerie for a while. On 12/15; Dwaine picked us up for a tour. Along with us was Christine, TP and Ned. 1 St stop was Derry #1612 we talked awhile with the members and I was given a couple of bags to take with me, had a good time there. 2 nd stop was Somerset # 1801 spent awhile there was shown the improvements upstairs very nice Aerie; they weren t expecting us so they weren t ready but still made time for us. 3 rd was Tony Angelo # 1188 they had made some sandwiches for us. We visited for a while when I was Given a check for $ from the Aerie and $ from the Auxiliary thank you both very much. After wards we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the event of the night. We went over to the Aerie for Blairsville s Christmas party they had quite a time with drawling s for gifts and dinner was a great time. I also found out I was married to Deb I didn t know this it was a surprise to both of us. Later that night I was surprised even further as I was called up for a presentation, they have given me a check get this $ I was overwhelmed I had no idea that this was happening. All I can say is thank so very much as this means a great deal to me. Dwaine, I want to thank you and your better half for something I will not forget. Blairsville Aerie thank for what you have done this weekend. 12/16: We traveled to Verona Aerie # 1634 we talked with the members around the bar. After a while District Director Bill DeSantis came down from upstairs, we talked awhile waiting for their District meeting to start. We attended the meeting was good to see Ray Roberts and others. The meeting was well attended. Afterwards they had a pig roast, as we had a long way home, we didn t stay. To all members the Grand Aerie is running a program for YOUNGER EAGLE MEMBERSHIP DRIVE (40 and younger) you will be entered in to a drawling 5 Aerie Proposer and 5 Auxiliary Proposer for $ This runs the months of January, February and March this is a great way to help our Aeries as we need younger blood so let s give this a good start Thank You. I hope Everyone had a great Christmas with family and friends. Happy New Years to all. As we are half way through the fraternal year, we are doing fair with Membership but we are a little behind so let s no give up. If you signed a least one member, thank you but try for more we need to grow as an organization so help us grow Thank you. Remember I believe in each of you. 7 Past State President William C. Dooley, Sr. Passed into Eternal Rest December 4, 2018 Bill Dooley was a longtime member of Marcus Hook Aerie NO He was a Past President and served as secretary for several years. He served as President of the Pa. State Aerie He served 13 years in the U S Navy and was very active in the local fire company. He retired as a captain of the prison guards at the Chester County prison. He moved to Eagle Village after retirement to escape the cold Pennsylvania Winters. He is survived by his wife of 50 plus years, Ruth, and son Will and daughter Allison, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

8 PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE Brothers, My name is Mike Clepper, Pa. State Vice President. This year I have the honor of being the International Director of the Eagle Village. I am asking the Pennsylvania Aeries to donate to Eagle Village as one of their charities. Checks should be made out to Eagle Village and sent to the State Aerie who will then forward to the Grand Aerie. All donations will be appreciated as they are building a new recreation center. Due to recent restructuring of the FOE Charity Foundation, the Child Abuse Prevention Fund and the Children s AIDS Awareness Fund will now be absorbed into the FOE Charity Foundation Children s Fund. All future donations for the former Child Abuse Prevention Fund and Children s AIDS Awareness Fund will be credited to the FOE Charity Foundation Children s Fund. Organizations which have previously received grants from either Fund will be eligible to receive grants from the FOE Charity Foundation Children s Fund. **** Due to the restructuring of the FOE Charity Foundation Children s Fund, all funds currently in our State balances for the Child Abuse Prevention Fund & Children s AIDS Awareness Fund must be granted to a qualifying organization before 5/31/2019. 14 YOUNGER EAGLES MEMBERSHIP DRIVE Any member who proposes a member 40 years of age and under will be entered in a random drawing each month, and (5) five Aerie Proposers and (5) five Auxiliary Proposers will be drawn and win $ each! In Addition, we will award one Aerie and one Auxiliary a $ media relations package per month, developed with the intention of helping your Aerie get the word out about all the wonderful things you do for charity and your community! Each Aerie and Auxiliary will get entered one time for each proposed member s in this age bracket each month.
