1 GÖTEBORGS FÄKTKLUBB Göteborg, Sweden Proudly invites you to take part in & ADATRÄFFEN 12 th and 13 th of November 2011 West Coast Challenge is an international tournament for young foil and epee fencers born 1995 and later, but we also have foil competitions for juniors and seniors. Adaträffen is a traditional competition for ladies epee seniors, offering a lot of fencing! VENUE Valhalla Sporthall A and C. Valhallagatan 3, Göteborg, Sweden.

2 SCHEDULE AND CLASSES Registrations from The fencing will start half an hour after time of last registration in each class. If the number of girls are less than ten in any class, they will fence in a mixed class with the boys. The DE will then be fenced separately. The youngest fencers (born 2001 or later) will fence in a mixed class. If the number of fencers in the youngest classes are 5 or less, it will be cancelled. All classes are part of the swedish Masters system, except for Cadet Epee, Senior Foil, Ladies Senior Epee and Miniors. The Senior Foil and Ladies Senior Epee competitons are national ranking competitions. Referees-meeting will be held at 08:00. 3 Each class, with some exceptions listed below, will use a system of two rounds of poules followed by direct elimination without repechage. Both poules are used for ranking to DE and no one is eliminated after the poules. The ladies senior competition will use it s traditionally marathon system. The cadet epee competion and the foil senior competition will use one round of poules followed by DE. The minior competition will use a allagainst-all formula, followed by semifinals and finals. FORMULA The ranking before the competition will be made according to the rules of Masters. Foreign fencers will be put in the ranking based on factors known to the DT. FEE 15 Euro or 150 SEK for a single start, 25 euro or 250 SEK for double starts. The fee has to be paid to our business account (bankgiro) in connection to your entry. There are also a possibility to pay on spot before registration, but then an extra fee of 5 euro or 50 SEK will be added. Foreign fencers are allowed to pay upon arrival without paying any extra charge. No fencer are allowed to register in more than 2 classes. WEAPON AND SECURITY CONTROL Electric jacket and masks will be checked on the piste by the referee. Foil fencers must use the new conductive bid on their masks. Please note that all equipment, including clothes shall be according to the SvFF s rules. REFEREES Swedish clubs are required send referees as follows: 1-4 starts = 0 referees 5-8 starts = 1 referee 9-12 starts = 2 referees starts = 3 referees starts = 4 referees starts = 5 referees starts = 6 referees 29 - starts = 7 referees Fencers from abroad: 1-5 fencers per club = 0 referees 6-10 fencers per club = 1 referee

4 11-15 fencers per club = 2 referees 16- fencers per club = 3 referees Please note that a referee have to be in time to attend the referees-meeting and remain at the venue all day in order to count as a referee. The amount of starts are counted for the weekend, and not day by day. A fine of Euro 110 or SEK 1000 per day must be paid for every referee that a club is unable to present in accordance with the stipulations above. The names of the referees as well as their competence should if possible be stated in the entries. Swedish referees must have at least distriktsdomarkompetens or equal experience. FENCING SHOP It will be possible to buy equipment. To pre-order, visit ENTRY Please send us your entries as early as possible. We must have them at the 2nd of November 2011 at the latest. Please don t forget to write the names of your referees and to pay the starting-fees in advance. All Swedish fencers and referees shall do their entries per club, via the Ophardt System. Please note that the entrys for Adaträffen (Ladies Epee Seniors) are made separately in the system. All foreign entries are made to genrich85@hotmail.com. The entry shall include date of birth (DD.MM.YYYY) of every fencer. For more information please call Mr Henrik Lundegard, on TRANSPORT Tram 2 will take you from the Central Station of Gothenburg to Scandinavium wich is less than 200 meters from the venue. Trams 6 and 8 also stop at Scandinavium. ACCOMONDATIONS Scandic Europa tel Lisebergsbyn hotel and cabin tel Or sleep in our fencing hall. It s just a five minute walk from the competiton venue. You will have to bring something to sleep on, pillows and a sleeping

5 bag. Prize for this is 250 SEK per night, and it s paid to the sleeping-guard upon arrival. There are showers and a kitchen in our fencing hall. PRE-ORDER A GOOD MEAL TO EAT Unfortunately, we are not allowed to sell food in the venue. There is a little coffee shop in the venue, but they don t have a great deal of variety, and the food is pricey. You have the possibility to order lunch through us if you order it and pay in advance. The payment for this should be made to the clubs business account (bankgiro) with the following number and it must be made club by club, not fencer by fencer. Mark the payment with clubname and amount, for example GFK60. You can choose between a vegetarian meal or a chicken dish. All meals include a drink water or soda and the prize is 85 SEK each. PRE-ORDER THE POPULAR COMPETITION T-SHIRT Last time we sold out on our competition t-shirt, wich meant that some fencers had to buy the wrong size. We want to try to avoid this by making it possible to pre-order the t-shirt. Just send an to genrich85@hotmail.com and state your name and size. The t-shirt will coast 140 SEK/15 euro and you can pay on arrival. It s available in the sizes XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL. HEAD OF COMPETITION Head of competition will be Mr. Pär Toresson.
