1 RE: 2014 ITKF International Summer Camp Magazine Dear Board of Directors, Technical Board of Directors, National Federation Members, Colleagues, students, friends and families! The ITKF has been working hard in the past five years to Continue the Tradition.. However, it needs a team effort to maintain and improve the quality of our karate organization. We pledged our loyalty to our founder the late Hidetake Nishiyama Sensei to continue his life work of unifying and preserving traditional Karate thru the means of the International Traditional Karate Federation. The ITKF is only as strong as its members and we need everyone to be involved and support the ITKF to be successful. There are many levels of involvement, first and foremost to participate in ITKF events such as the International Summer Camp and to communicate and share all of the events with your National Federation Members. Second to make contribution weather financially or to volunteer your services we need all of you to actively take part in this organization and its great cause. Please keep in mind that the ITKF is a Not-for-profit organization and is for the public benefit of karate only and not organized to benefit single individuals, groups or countries. That means how you serve the ITKF or what you give to the ITKF you give to the propagation and to the preservation of Traditional Karate and its future. We continuously are looking for volunteers to assist in areas such as legal counsel, marketing, communications and hosting and sponsoring events. We have lost Nishiyama Sensei but we inherited his vision and we have to be united to continue his work to the best of our abilities. Since I have joined the volunteer force at the ITKF I have realized the need to have volunteers and delegates in all aspects of this organization. Please take this opportunity to help and offer your services and I am happy to assist, to delegate and maximize your talents you may be able to volunteer to the ITKF. The ITKF is an international organization and invaluable to the National Federation Members in order to receive support from their respective Sports Ministries and other supporters. The ITKF qualified examiners, instructors and coaches are sought after all over the world and greatly benefit from ITKF s and Nishiyama Sensei s prestigious name. There are very few fundraising opportunities in this organization and the annual ITKF International Summer Camp is one of them. Please make sure to give back and support the ITKF by attending and encouraging your instructors and students to come and participate. Everyone is invited. We will be holding our Board meetings and our qualification courses that are absolutely necessary to keep abreast with technical principles and rules and regulations of our competitions; especially with the World Championship coming up in November in Egypt. I urge everyone to think about the importance of each of your part in the ITKF and how each of us can give back to Nishiyama Sensei s legacy and his life long hard

2 work and endless effort to share and teach us all. We owe him and our future generations to give them the same opportunity to learn and enjoy karate as Sensei gave it so generously and openly to us. We also would like to improve our communication with our membership dojos all over the world and open doors to our members as well as like-minded karatekas of all traditional styles so we truly can be an ITKF karate family and a well functioning successful organization. Please assist now!
