3 Diary Dates September Registra-on Deadline: RegistraBon will close at 23: September 05 September 06 Correc-on Deadline: All requests for changes to your details or category must be e- mailed to by 23:59. Please ensure you are in the correct category. No changes will be permived awer this date. If you fail to make weight on the day, you will be disqualified. Category Start Times Released: The Bme that you need to report to the warm- up area and the mat number you will be fighbng on will be published.

6 Gi s The GI must be completely white, royal blue or black. No Gi s will be accepted with different coloured jackets or pants, nor will we allow the use of GI s with different colored collars. Please check with your coach and consult the IBJJF rule book (ArBcle 8) to ensure your Gi is suitable.

7 CompeBBon Format (1/2) Three in a category will use the IBJJF system. Figure 1 Semi- final A - Smith v Jones Semi- final B - Khan v TBC Figure 2 The winner of semi- final A, Smith, progresses to the final. The loser of semi- final A, Jones, moves to semi- final B. Figure 1 Semi- final B Khan v Jones The winner progresses to the final to face Smith. The loser of semi- final B gets the bronze medal. It could be that the two athletes who fought in semi- final A, meet again in the final. That's just how the system works. Figure 2

8 CompeBBon Format (2/2) Two in a category will be a straight final Four or more in a category is straight knockout The losing semi- finalists in categories of four or more athletes will be equal third place bronze.

9 Procedure on the Day (1/2) The category start Bmes and your mat number, will be published on our website at least 5- days before the event. At the stated Bme you must be in the warm- up area, in your Gi, and ready to ﬁght. If you are not in the warm- up area when called you will be disqualiﬁed. The mat coordinator will be wearing a bright yellow tabard with a number on that corresponds to your mat number. They will come to the fence between the the warm- up area and the contest areas and will start calling names.

10 Procedure on the Day (2/2) If your name is called, idenbfy yourself to the mat coordinator. You will then be taken to have your weight and Gi checked. You will then pass through to the holding area from where you will be taken to your mat. Following your ﬁght If you win your ﬁght, ensure you give your name to the mat coordinator and return to the holding area, unless instructed otherwise. If you lose your ﬁght, check with the mat coordinator to see if you have any more ﬁghts.

11 Keep It Clean A guide to pre- workout IBJJF Rule Athletes should use footwear up to the match area... Please ensure you are wearing footwear at all Bmes when not on the mat. This especially applies when visibng the toilets.

12 Medals & Team Trophies Gold, Silver and two bronze medals will be awarded in each category. We are aiming to present the medals within 30- minutes of the bracket conclusion. 1st 3rd place team trophies will be awarded. Team names must be exactly the same for team points to be added together.

13 Respect Rule This event has a zero tolerance policy regarding inappropriate behaviour by coaches, spectators and compebtors. All in avendance must show some restraint when their students or team mates are fighbng. There will be compebtors and spectators of all ages at this event and we are here to set an example. Any swearing, inappropriate gestures, violence (towards person or property) or berabng the officials (regardless of any decisions they make) will not be tolerated. If this happens, the referee/organiser has the right to disqualify that compebtor, or to ask the person concerned to leave the area. If those concerned do not comply with the referee/organisers request the compebtor will be disqualified from the event. If a coach or team mate encroaches onto the mat, or past any barriers that are in place, or man handles an official in any way, that person will be asked to leave the venue. A repeated failure to comply with requests from officials may result in the whole team being withdrawn from the event.

14 Frequently Asked QuesBons Q. Can we bring food and drink into the venue? A. Yes. Q. What are the rules? A. The event will be run under the rules of the IBJJF hvp://ibjjf.com/wp- content/uploads/2015/04/rulesibjjf_v4_en- US.pdf Q. How do spectators pay? A. All spectators are free. Q. Will there be an absolute? A. Yes, we will offer absolutes for all belt / age categories Q. Who can enter the absolute? A. The top 4 athletes from each category.

15 Frequently Asked QuesBons Q. What Bme do we need to arrive? A. We do not need to see you before the stated Bme for your category. Allow Bme to get parked and into the venue, and allow some Bme to sevle in and get changed. Q. Can we weigh- in early? A. No, test scales will be available, but the official weigh- in will take place just before your first contest. Q. Might the category start early? A. No, the categories will not start before the stated Bme, unless all athletes in the category are ready.

16 What happens if I don t have an opponent in my category? During registrabon you will be given the opbons as shown below. If awer registrabon closes there is no one in your category, we will move you to another category, or issue a refund as per the informabon you provided.

17 Is there a weight allowance? There is no weight allowance on the scales, 0.1 kg over the weight = overweight. The athlete must weigh- in wearing their Gi and belt. Under IBJJF rules if a compebtor does not make weight, they are automabcally disqualified from the event. If you have any doubt about making weight it is respecsully suggested that you move up a weight before the correcbon deadline.

18 There s no one currently in my category, should I sign up? During registra-on you can opt to compete up weight or down age groups if there is no one in your category. If you prefer, you can choose to have a full refund. Get signed up now, you never know, Andy, Steve and the others may just be wai-ng for you!
