Enjoy the holiday. On Monday, July 3, Linda and I are going to have an Independence Day party. There will be fireworks and a water slide in the back yard. We ll provide a variety of barbecued and smoked meat. Everyone is encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert and their own drinks. We hope you will be able to join us! Please let us know if you ll be here. I just read the National Corvette Museum newsletter and learned that today (June 30) was Drive Your Corvette to Work Day. With the current weather, I doubt not knowing this sooner affected many of us, We ll have to remember this date next year. If you haven t already, please register for our Summer s End Corvette Show. We have a great committee working on plans for the show. Now we will need all hands on deck for August 25 and 26 to help with all the activities we have planned for our guests and for our club members. We have a good time hosting this event. Fireworks at Dark At the Home of Gordon & Linda Slothower 4425 Bright Water Circle, Springdale Slothowers will provide the meat - pork butt and brats. Bring a side dish or dessert to share. There will also be tea, water and some beer - Bud Light, Miller Lite and Michelob Ultra. If you want to drink something else or a lot of beer, bring your own. Children of all ages are invited to join us. The water slide in the backyard will be available for all who are brave enough to try it. Bring towels. If you have family or friends visiting, feel free to invite them. 3 Luck of the Draw Show n Shine Thanks to Jack Lovin for setting up the Show n Shine at Luck of the Draw Liquor Store in Huntsville on June 10. They support our car show with a $500 gift, making them one of our largest sponsors.they had wine and spirits tastings and they provided lunch. Summer s End Corvette Show Update Plans are well underway for our club car show this year. Below is an update on progress. Guest Goodie Bags - We are gathering small items for goodie bags including samples from O Reilly Auto Parts, Zips, Mid-America, Volunteer and from other local businesses. We will have a bag stuffing meeting in August. Silent Auction - Joanna Peak, Chair, is working to get some fun, larger items for this year s auction. Let her know if you have ideas or can get some gift cards. Mid-America is sending a gift basket. Also have a donated fire pit, a Yeti cup, and most vendors donate items. Vendors - Sharon Hunter has increased the number of vendors who will show their wares at Friday s welcome event. They include X-Bones engraving, Scentsy home fragrances, Ambrosia custom jewelry, Ram Jet Adam s car care products, PerfecTint window tinting and paint protec- Door Prizes - Chair Becky Pianalto says she has about 20 items so far. Each member is asked to bring a door prize to the next meeting. Any item at $10 - $20 value would be welcome. Mall Activities - Nancy Perry has lined up the style show at Dillards plus a cooking demonstration at Williams Sonoma. Gwen Walker will lead line dancing in the center of the mall. Entertainment - Jack Lovin has arranged for Mike Mayberry & the Slow Hands for Saturday evening s event. David Hyden has lined up to perform on the patio at the Holiday Inn Friday evening during/following our barbecue. Promotion - Kevin Cornell has been communicating regularly with other clubs and Corvette owners and sending information to web sites and periodicals to get the word out about our show. Main Street Cafe in Huntsville and shopping (with coupons) at The Emporium. Car Show Judging - Teddy Holcomb has his judging team in place. Special awards will be the Jim McMillen Award and Best Interior. A new award will be given for best under-hood/trunk art. Registration - Jim Leis is tracking pre-registrations. Nancy Perry and Jackie Riley will register guests at the show with Venus Bryan helping with data input. Parking - Jack Lovin has an experienced team to park cars at our show. 50/50 Pots - Saturday will be manned by Gwen Adams and Saturday by Becky Pianalto.

4 Course Time at Hallett Randy Whitis has scheduled anoher open race day on the course at Hallet, Oklahoma on September 20. This track time is a lot of fun. They will have room for up to 20 cars and cost will be $200 each if we have 20. They will run drivers in 20 minute stints with staggered start so there is not a lot of traffic. Instruction is available. Drivers must have a Snell approved car helmet, long pants, long sleeved shirt and close-toed shoes. Top speed for Corvettes on the track is typically about mph. You can go as fast as you want. They will group drivers so people go about same speed. You can run other cars instead of Corvettes. Give Randy a call if you are interested State Vettes Autocross Dates: All events to be held at Crowder College in Neosho, Missouri. July 29, Saturday August 27, Sunday September 23 and 24, Saturday and Sunday Autocross, Drag Race, and Cruise to Cruise Night at Crowder College Truck Driving School. Entry fee for all weekend just $20. October 6, Friday 11:30 a.m. open for registration until 2:00 p.m. in celebration of Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend. This will be held at Crowder College Truck Driving School near Neosho, MO. (roughly 40 miles from Eureka Springs). This is an all make of vehicle event. It will feature Corvettes in their own classes. October 28, Saturday Meeting Minutes ~ Linda Slothower MINUTES Northwest Arkansas Corvette Club June 5, 2017 The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Thanks to Jeff and Sharon Hunter for hosting another Vettes at Edens Bluff. Comments on weather. Jeff thanked everyone for side dishes. Guests: Mark Mills who has a 1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette Minutes were approved. Treasurer s report was approved. Birthdays/Anniversaries were recognized. New Cars Gordon and Linda Slothower 2017 GS Watkins Glen Gray Metallic Car Show Planning Meeting June 19 at Slothower s home at 7:00 p.m. Register your car for the show. We need silent auction items. Get donations if you can. Joanna Peak chair Becky Pianalto is door prize chair. Members asked to provide items under $20. Don t have to be carrelated. Need items for attendee bags. Would like samples or promotional items for those. Don t need pens. Show n Shine at Luck of the Draw Liquor Store this Saturday.Meet at 9:45 a.m. Leave at 10:00. Fun event. We have pop-ups for shade. They feed us lunch and have different alcohol/wine tastings, and donate $500 to car show. Then Jack Lovin will lead us to Eureka Springs for dinner at Sparky s. Let Jack or Linda know if you are going with us. New Member: Francisco Mijares 2012 black Corvette News - Friday was last day of 2017 production. Started building 2018s today. Rumored to work until. Also rumors that they will start with the ZR1. Take a factory tour this month before they close for 18 months. No Corvette museum news. 25th anniversary celebration is the same weekend as our car show. Car Shows - June Bloomington Gold in Indianapolis, Indiana.
