1 Northwest Arkansas Corvette Club P.O. Box 1064, Rogers, Arkansas Corvette Times May, 2012 Newsletter Editors: Linda and Gordon Slothower Newsletter deadline: Pictures, articles, items for sale must be to the editor by noon on Wednesday after the monthly meeting. President John Bakker Vice-President Briggs Whitefield Club Officers Secretary Sharon Bell Treasurer Joanna Peak President s Corner ~ John Bakker May 9, 2012 Dear Corvetters: It is with a sad heart I write today. We lost one of our own around 1:00 this morning. He was a great guy, a wonderful role model, and a bad one to lose. Joe Cempura passed away last night and he will be sorely missed. I can honestly say that every time I have ever seen Joe, he had a smile on his face, even if he was feeling bad. Several times over the last four years he volunteered to help with things concerning my fiance s foundation and everybody who worked with him enjoyed being around him and hearing that wonderful laugh he had when someone told a joke. He absolutely loved to go to Gaskin s cabin in Eureka Springs and couldn t wait to wrap his mouth around a great piece of Prime Rib. I think a trip there in his honor would be nice. Please keep the Cempura family in your thoughts and prayers. It is obviously a very hard time for them. I ws very proud to be able to call him one of my friends. Joe, rest in peace my friend. We all miss you down here. John
