2 MEETING MINUTES December 6th, 2016 Call to Order: President Richard Fox called the meeting to order at 6:18pm and welcomed the 35 members and 1 guest who were present. Minutes: The minutes for the November membership meeting as ed to the club membership were approved. Treasurer s Report: Treasurer Steve Primavera presented the Treasurer s Report through November 30 th which was unanimously approved. National Corvette Museum: NCM Ambassador Don Paulson covered the following topics: Reviewed the NCM upcoming events for Discussed briefly the Museum in Motion event NASCAR in the South to be held in Charlotte, NC and said he most likely will attend and thought it was a great event for club members to consider. He has $10 raffle tickets for sale for a 2017 Artic White Coupe that would make great stocking stuffers. More details with links and dates are available in the Ambassador Report posted in the newsletter and our website. Membership: Membership Chairman Jim Martin stated that 20 members have paid for their 2017 membership to-date. He also informed the group that he has new club business cards available for anyone that needs them. These can be passed out to potential new members. Webmaster: John Talatinian reiterated that members who submitted For-Sale items to be posted on the club website need notify him if they have been sold and are no longer available. This helps keep the site up-to-date. Old Business: November 11 th : NCCAR track day. 12 members attended this track event and all had a blast testing the superb track abilities of their Vettes. Richard Fox restated that anyone on the fence to attend these track events should come out and give it a try. There are strict rules in place such as no passing allowed except on the ½ mile straight and only after given a wave-by by the driver to be passed. November 26 th : Annual North Carolina Holiday Flotilla, Wrightsville Beach. Some members attended this event and encouraged others to give it a try next year. Richard Fox read a letter of appreciation that was received from the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC thanking CFC and members for the $2,500 donation presented at the November meeting. New Business: December 10 th : Greg Stanley outlined the trip to Fair Bluff, NC for club members who volunteered to participate in a parade with their Corvettes for this flood ravaged town. The parade was originally canceled but it was decided by town officials that it would be something positive for the residents if the parade was held. December 17 th : As previously announced, the Annual Christmas Party will be held at the Porters Neck Country Club. Details have been sent out via and the newsletter with all information. Payment is due by December 10 th. January 7 th 2017: Rolling Sculpture Exhibit at the NC Museum of Art. An has been sent outlining this event. Participation is limited to 15 people max. We will be going to

3 lunch at 11:30am at the Iris Restaurant with the tour starting at 2:00pm. This tour is free with your NCM membership and you are free to explore the rest of the Museum after the tour. Nominations for 2017 Officers/Directors: Richard Fox outlined the 4 officer positions, President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer and stated that no nominations were offered. Since the existing slate of officers was unopposed, it will continue for The Secretary s position which has fulfilled the 2-term limit outlined in the CFC By-Laws is allowed a continuation until a candidate is found to take over. The 2 Directors and the Membership Committee that were appointed were unanimously confirmed by a membership vote: o Don and Deb Paulson, NCM Ambassadors o John Talatinian, Webmaster o Carol & Bill Bordwine, Membership Richard Fox asked the membership to offer suggestions for activities/events they feel the CFC members would like to do and to help coordinate in these activities. The next meeting will be held January 3 rd at the N.E. Library. We will convene at 6:00pm with the meeting starting approximately at 6:15pm. Meeting was adjourned at 7:08 pm. 7 President s Message As 2016 comes to a close and the elections decided, CFC is poised to begin its tenth year. All but one of our positions will carry over unchanged into The Membership Coordinator position was filled by Bill Bordwine with assistance from Carol. Jim Martin has put a lot of effort into the job and done a fantastic job making the transition an easy task. We all owe Jim a big THANK YOU and I know we will be talking him into providing more assistance in the near future. Thank You to all of the Board, Directors, committee members and numerous members that all help make CFC a successful Corvette loving club. CFC needs your help! One of our first tasks each year is developing a proposed calendar of events. We will schedule an open meeting soon and look forward to any event suggestions that you have.
