2 2012 ASPI Fall Customer Alignment Meeting The Association of Suppliers to the Paper Industry (ASPI) ASPI is dedicated to providing events and initiatives of value to its members. As the paper industry transforms in response to globalization and other economic drivers, it is critical that suppliers remain aligned with the strategic objectives of their customers. The ASPI Customer Alignment Initiative provides an opportunity for ASPI members to collectively meeting with their customers as they share their corporate directions. Meeting Overview The ASPI 2012 Customer Alignment Meeting will take place at the Westin Hotel in beautiful Charlotte, North Carolina. Please join your executive peers in Charlotte this fall to participate in this exclusive ASPI event. This unique opportunity allows industry suppliers to align their capabilities with the new business directions and markets being explored by Domtar. As in past Customer Alignment Meetings, Domtar s top executives will spend a full day sharing how suppliers can support their corporate strategic directions. 4 Speakers Jim Thomas V.P. Purchasing and Materials Management A graduate of Winthrop University with a BS degree in Business administration, Jim has 32 years of Purchasing experience, all within the Pulp and Paper Industry. He organized and has led the overall Purchasing and Materials management function at the New Domtar since it was formed 5 years ago after the merger with Weyerhaeuser s Fine Paper Division. His Department is responsible for managing approximately 1.7B of in scope expenditures in all categories including energy, chemicals, MRO, indirect spend, services and supplies. Prior to this most recent assignment, he spent 27 years at several mills including Bowater in Catawba SC, Union Camp in Eastover SC and Willamette in Bennettsville SC and progressed in various Procurement roles, responsibilities and assignments. In 2002 After Weyerhaeuser s acquisition of Willamette Industries, he was a regional Procurement Manager for the Southeast US until These extended mill experiences led directly to the development of a Domtar Procurement model that depends on a technically competent, center led, field driven, credible approach to produce measurable results in all facets of spend management. These results are delivered with a small and streamlined staff that has a manufacturing focus in all of their activities. Jim will be sharing his unique Purchasing philosophies and participating in this year s procurement discussions at PaperCon. Mike Edwards is Senior Vice President, Pulp and Paper Manufacturing, of Domtar. He is responsible for all pulp and paper manufacturing as well Mike Edwards Senior Vice President, Pulp and Paper Manufacturing as converting operations. Mr. Edwards was previously Vice-President, Fine Paper Manufacturing at Weyerhaeuser joined Weyerhaeuser in 1994, where he held various management positions in pulp and paper operations, after working 11 years at Domtar Inc. His career in the pulp and paper industry spans over 45 years. Mr. Edwards holds an Advanced City & Guilds Diploma in Pulp & Paper Technology, an Electrical Engineering Certificate from Napier College, as well as, a Scottish Higher National Diploma in Business Studies from the University of Aberdeen. He also has a post-graduate C.N.A.A. degree in Management Studies from London. Mr. Edwards has pre Governor s Business Council of North Carolina for Management and Development. In the early 1990s, he was Chairman and Director of the Ontario Pulp and Paper Makers Association.

5 Hotel Information ASPI s 2012 Fall Meeting will be held at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina. With its iconic Portman design, the hotel is an integral part of Uptown s financial district and the Queen City skyline. The hotel features gym, indoor pool, and on-site dining outlets such as Ember Grille that sizzle with personality and flair. The hotel also offers spa services at Westin Wellness Center. Registration Registration is $835 for ASPI members and $1200 for non-members. For more details or to join ASPI, visit Register by August 1 to ensure a discounted rate at the hotel. Hotel reservations after this date may not be available or may be at a much higher rate. Cancellation Registration: A 10% processing fee will be charged on cancellations received before August 1, Except in an emergency, refunds cannot be made after this date as ASPI must guarantee functions. Hotel: 72 hour notice must be given to cancel any hotel reservations without penalty. 6 Experience the award winning Nascar Hall of Fame in Charlotte, NC Where The Race Lives On. Conveniently located in uptown Charlotte, N.C., the 150,000-square-foot NASCAR Hall of Fame is an interactive, entertainment attraction honoring the history and heritage of NASCAR. The high-tech venue, designed to educate and entertain race fans and non-fans alike, opened May 11, 2010 and includes artifacts, interactive exhibits, 278-person state-of-the-art theater, Hall of Honor, Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant, NASCAR Hall of Fame Gear Shop and NASCAR Media Group-operated broadcast studio. The state-of-the-art facility will honor NASCAR icons and create an enduring tribute to the drivers, crew members, team owners and others that have impacted the sport in the past, present and future. Following Tuesday meeting, we will gather in the lobby of the hotel at 6:00 pm for the short walk to the NASCAR Hall of Fame, located about.2 miles from the hotel. Once there, we will have a 30 minute tour of the museum, followed by a reception with time to view some displays and enjoy conversation. Our dinner will be a down home Southern BBQ. The dress this evening will be casual and comfortable.
