Keep them in your prayers. The weather hasn t really been cooperating but at least there have been a few Saturdays when we were able to drive. Don t forget the car show planning meeting on Sunday, May 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn. We need input from all our members to assure we have another good show. We re looking forward to Vettes at Eden s Bluff the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Jeff and Sharon have hosted this event for several years. There is always plenty to eat and everyone has a really good time. Their home overlooks Beaver Lake and the setting is beautiful. Everyone is welcome. Our new club shirts look great!. Thank you to the apparel committee for making us look sharp. If you haven t already, you can still order yours at the next club meeting. Also remember you can customize your shirt with your car logo, etc., by taking it back to Threads in Bentonville. Get out there and enjoy your car! Gordon Slothower President

Cruises and Events Friday Vette Together Dinner Out for May About 22 members met at Venezia s Italian Kitchen for dinner Friday, May 6. All agreed the food was great and service was exceptional. Following dinner, some member of the group visited Core Brewery for a cold one. Memphis BBQ Cruise Jeff Hunter led an overnight cruise to Memphis, Tennessee last Friday through Sunday. Four couples traveled to Jones BBQ Diner in Marianna, Arkansas that has been recognized with a James Beard Award. As the group drove on to Memphis we had a Cool Hand Luke experience when we saw about two dozen female inmates working alongside the road with guards mounted on horses. A first for everyone. We enjoyed Memphis in May and the World Championship Barbecue Cooking contest. There was a stop at Rendevous for more ribs. Then there was a visit to Beale Street for music and crowd watching. On Saturday we went to Graceland to see how Elvis lived. We went to Cozy Corner for (you guessed it) more barbecue. Then we made a stop at the Bass Pro pyramid where our fearless leader bought a new rifle. On the way home we stopped at Nick s Barbecue in Carlisle, Arkansas for a final bbq lunch.
