24 daily high, daily low and daily mean temperatures are listed in columns 6, 7, and 8, respectively, in the right-hand tables. Precipitation statistics are given on the bottom half of each left page. Monthly average and record low and high precipitation data are obvious-the average precipitation in January, for example, was 2.15 inches, the record low for this month was 0.70 inches in 1912, and the record high was 4.72 inches in Periods of wet weather are tabulated in the center portion of each left page. In January, for example, the wettest 1 day was January 30, 1925, when 2.40 inches of precipitation occurred, the wettest 2-day period started January 29, 1925, and the wettest 14- day period started January 20, That was a wet year! Periods of dry weather, as measured by days with zero or trace precipitation, are given at the bottom of each left page. In the month of January, for example, an average of six days have no measurable precipitation. In 1973, there were only 2 consecutive days in this category, starting January 6, whereas in 1908 there were 22 consecutive days with no precipitation, starting January 22. Weather is continuously changing, and each year new records are established for minimum or maximum temperature and precipitation, and for periods of exceptionally hot or cold or wet or dry weather. The data in these tables show what happened in the past, but they do not necessarily indicate what might be expected in the future.
