3 THIS YEAR WE INVITE ALL OUR WRESTLERS, PARENTS, OFFICIALS AND SUPPORTERS TO BECOME A BLOOD STEM CELL DONOR. Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. Imagine being diagnosed with leukaemia... For many of us this is just unthinkable, but each year hundreds of South Africans have to face this terrifying reality. According to the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR) hundreds of South Africans with blood diseases such as leukaemia reach the point where their only chance of survival is a blood stem cell transplant. The problem is finding a compatible blood stem cell donor. Family members especially siblings, are usually most suitable, but only 30% of patients will have a suitable match in the family. For the other 70%, their only hope is to find an unrelated matched donor. By increasing the donor pool we will increase the chances of someone finding a match. By becoming a donor you could be the hope for someone suffering from this terrifying disease. A 5-minute call to the Sunflower Fund is all you need to start the process. 5 General Information: 1. Wrestlers can enter for more than one category where appropriate. However, it is important to note that waiting periods between bouts are not guaranteed. 2. Wrestlers cannot enter in an age group for which she/he is not qualified unless there is no one in her/his category for her/him to compete against. In which case the wrestler will be mover to the next best age group with an appropriate weight for her/him with his/her coach and team managers approval. 3. Female wrestlers may enter for the freestyle categories, wrestlers will automatically be paired against male wrestlers. Therefore there is NO SEPARATE DIVISION for FEMALE WRESTLERS. This will ensure that every female wrestler will have a match. Female wrestlers are allowed to wrestle male wrestlers and vice versa. Age weight and experience level will be used to ensure that each match will hold value to the wrestler while still being a relatively fair match. Therefore female wrestlers will not necessarily be bracketed in their specific age group. If you have any questions regarding this rule please feel free to contact the Tournament Secretary. 4. Amount of Officials as per SAWF Regulations. 5. Pairing will be done according to the SA 1 system. 6-7 wrestlers will wrestle the New Nordic Pool List and 5 or fewer will wrestle a Nordic Pairing list; more than 7 wrestlers will wrestle an SA Pairing list. This does not apply to LTPD wrestlers; who will only wrestle Nordic (NOT THE NORDIC POOL). 6. As always bracketing is done with 10% increments. 7. Weight in cards can be collected from the club Treasurer on the morning of the competition. 8. Free withdrawals, after the tournaments entries closed, of wrestlers will only be allowed when accompanied by a doctor s certificate. 9. Gould, silver and bronze medals are handed out to the first three places in each bracket respectively. 10. All LTPD wrestlers will receive participation medals; wrestlers taking part in the Brakpan Kapokkie Evenings will also receive the Competition Kapokkie badge. 11. SAWF LTPD rules will be enforced. 12. Wrestling will take place on four (4) mats; LTPD bouts will take place on one (1) of the mats. 13. Only the first three hundred (400) entries will be accepted.
