5 TAKEDOWN-A-THON FUNDRAISER LYWA s annual major fundraising event: helps keep participation fees low, complimentary clothing, provide coaching/curriculum, club-paid open tournaments and more Kids perform 100 takedowns during practice on Tuesday, January 12, and collect donations or pledges for their efforts Prizes will be awarded based on donation totals Donation Amount Prize $75.00 $ Choice of Adidas Wrestling Gear Bag with embroidered LYWA logo and name or Long Sleeve Performance LYWA T-Shirt $ $ Hooded Hex Camo Sweatshirt with LYWA Logo $ Custom Brute Red/Gold Lakeville Wrestling Singlet 100% participation is expected if fundraising is not a possibility for you, we will accept a $50 buyout donation

6 VOLUNTEERING: IT TAKES A VILLAGE! Without parent volunteers, our club would cease to exist. LYWA has an expectation that all parents donate time to support key activities the club is involved in, specifically: Table Workers Panther Invite, December 5, 2015 Register here: NYWA Region 3 State Qualifying Tournament: March 19, 2016 We want as many LYWA wrestlers to compete as possible Parents, wrestlers, and family members needed to help run the tournament Volunteer positions will be available via VolunteerSpot More detail to come! 7 TOURNAMENTS & FORMATS Open Tournaments: Voluntary matches against kids from other clubs, paired up by age and weight, sometimes ability Some parent coaches available to help but coaching cannot always be guaranteed. Check list on lockers each week to gauge participation Not ready? Attend to watch and learn LYWA will pay for 1-2 open tournaments this year Lakeville South Cougar Open in February, and TBD. Coaching will be available. Team Tournaments Select wrestlers to represent LYWA in team tournaments Selections based on wrestle-offs at each weight class Wrestle offs help us determine the best wrestler at each weight, and who will represent the club at team events. These are completely voluntary. Key tournaments: Mat Rats Cannon Falls (1/10), East Ridge Ruckus (1/17), Byron Bears Wrestling Challenge (2/14)

8 TOURNAMENTS & FORMATS State and National Tournaments MN/USA NYWA MYAS GOPHER STATE NATIONALS Requires qualification at one MNUSA sanctioned event (1stor 2ndplace) Large open tournament style, in Rochester, March 11-13, 2016 MNUSA Card required for all MNUSA sanctioned Requires qualification at both district (1stand 2nd) and region (top 3) tournaments Region 3 Qualifier in LAKEVILLE on 3/19/16 16-man brackets at State Tournament in Rochester, March 31- April 3, 2016 Requires NYWA Membership No qualification required, just pre-registration National tournament is February 6-7, 2016 in Monticello, MN Kids come from all over the U.S. to compete Also Hawkeye Nationals, Jackrabbit Nationals, Badgerland Nationals
