Odds: 4/1 (Pre-season 5/1) Hot Tomato 1-0 (up from 5) This offense is going to be tough to slow down and Gurney/Nilsson both look on song early. 41 points has Dae Gurney looking particularly attractie at the moment. High Intensity pressure looks to be Coach Lawyer s calling card. Odds: 7/1 (Pre-season 9/1) 3. Herculan Hornets 1-0 (up from 4) Team toughed out a gutsy win despite blowing a big lead and are likely to be the real scrappers of ISL. Definitely the most attractie looking team in the comp and they will only look better in those sexy blue and green uniforms.

4 Talk of a monthly calendar has set female tongues wagging. Odds: 7/1 (Pre-season 8/1...hae shortened due to the amount of $2 bets placed by the women) 4. Brumby s Suns 0-1 (down from 2) The Sun s fought hard without Thalo and proed they are still going to be tough een if he misses any more games hae held a high ranking despite the loss and only on the thought that Thalo will be aailable more often than not. If AD can consistently proide the energy from the second half of their last game, they will cause massie problem for eeryone. Odds: 9/1 (Pre-season 7/1) 5. Celtics Basketball Club 0-0 (unchanged) Had the bye in round 1. Hugh Robertson looks angry and assistant Coach Jason Aucoin looks like he is ready for a drink. Odds: 9/1 (unchanged) 6. First National Springfield (up from 7) Brad Williamson looked good when he had the ball and they lost a shoot-out against another big contender. Expect them to keep putting up some big scores. Fan faourite Matthew Strybos was inconsolable after missing the game winner. Odds: 10/1 (Pre-season 10/1) 7. Dickfos Dunn Eagles 1-0 (up from 9) Put away the Hammer-less Urban Burger boys with ease as most expected once Hammer didn t suit up. Hae the bye next week so true test will come in round 3 when legendary coach Pero Cameron also returns. Odds: 11/1 (Pre-Season 13/1) 8. Scouts Queensland 1-0 (down from 6) Despite a strong win in the end the boys it was only against a Simanic-less Postels team and so they should hae, they still hae a lot more to proe before they can moe up the rankings. Odds: 11/1 (Pre-season 9/1) 9. Urban Burger 0-1 (down from 8) Was hard to get a true guide without Hammer playing but they were conincingly beaten.questions now surround how many games Hammer will be able to play and how much support he will receie on the offensie end. Odds: 13/1 (Pre-season 11/1) 10. IPSURE Postels 0-1 (unchanged) A lot of outside stuff and inconsistency lead to a major lapse and ultimately a loss. Will Simanic get enough shots when he returns and if he does how will other players react when they are getting less??? Odds: 16/1 (pre-season 15/1) 11. Frequency 3 (unchanged) Despite being written off pre-game the Super Freaks fought hard and did show some glimmers of brilliance, but inconsistency and lack of depth were exposed. They did play the #1 ranked team so next week s game may gie a true guide on where they are going this season. Tweed Heads Harey World Trael While eeryone is probably focusing on how good or rusty Sandy Brondello will be, this team still has the quality to be tough eery Sunday, with QBL star Carine Reimink likely to proe a handful inside and a couple of extremely talented youngsters who look like steals. Odds: 5/2 If Brondello is a shadow of her former self and can play more than half of the games then this price shortens een further. 2. AMB Embroidery Flamingoes These ladies will proe tough to stop both inside and out. They hae the best young big and a ery experienced big who will cause match-up nightmares for opposition teams. Megan Green and some ery promising young players into the mix and we hae a legitimate contender here. Odds: 4/1 Megan Michaels full aailability is still questionable but when she is they will be good! 3. Beyond Building Energy Rollers BBE drew two of the flashiest guards in the draft to go along with marquee Rachael Pryor and somehow landed experienced forward Jennelle Cameron in the 5 th round., who they will need as size may be there potential weakness. Odds: 5/1 but expect these odds to either shorten or explode 4. Sharkey s Healing Centre Great mix of youth and experience in this team. Heidi Freeburn is returning after a successful year playing for Mackay in the QBL and coach Stacey Roberts like Wheelo is still trying to work out how her team last year didn t take the cheque... Odds: 6/1 a lot will depend on how much Stacey can get from the 4 youngsters 5. Celtics Basketball Club Take away the two under 20 players and the aerage age of this team is.let s say experienced. The biggest question is will their experience be too much for some of the more youthful running teams or will they wear down by season s end. Odds: 6/1 reigning MVP Jade Dais proed unstoppable at times last year and is again the key. 6. Breastlogic Chris was clearly eating lunch with V-dogg sharing youth theories with 5 under 20 players set to play in white and pink. Marquee Bec Miles is going to cause teams headaches if her young team mates can gie her some good help. Odds: 9/1 Look for this team to be the most improed from game 1 to 10 but will it be too late? MEN S LEAGUE Round am (TSS Court 1) Urban Burger (0-1) Herculan Hornets (1-0) Preiew: Weiland and his band of bronzed men couldn t hae asked for a better role of the dice to start the season. Last week they played a team missing the #1 oerall pick and this week the will meet a Hammer-less Urban Burger team. Herculan let a comfortable lead slip but found enough to guts out the win and must be entering this game brim full of confidence. Prediction: Herculan by 14. Key Factor: Will Urban Burger find a player who will take control and lead the team? Will Herculan be more worried about how good they look in their uniforms oer how good they look playing on the court? Match-up to watch: Giordano Broom Odds: Herculan $1.33 Urban Burger $3.20

6 12.30pm (TSS Court 1) Scouts Queensland Shooters (1-0) First National Springfield (0-1) Preiew: The Scouts looked scrappy but finished with the win last week and will take extra confidence from doing so, while First National looked impressie but fell short at the end and there are question marks surrounding whether Brendan Carroll will be read to go this week. Brad Williamson looked good when he had the ball in his hands and expect coach V-Dogg to look to ensure that happens more often this week. Jeffries was quite in the first half last week and explosie in the second, he will need to produce 40 minutes of quality basketball this week if he wants to get the Shooters off to a 2-0 start. Prediction: First National by 8. Key Factors: Can Jeffries reproduce last week s second half performance? Will Scouts find a way to slow down Brad Williamson? Match-up to watch: Jeffries Williamson (this will be good!) Odds: Scouts QLD $2.50 First National $ pm (TSS Court 1) Celtics Basketball Club (0-0) Hot Tomato Radio Men (1-0) Preiew: There is no form line yet for the Celtics but one things is for sure the are going to hae their hands full slowing done the potent offense of the men in black led by the coach from the Bay. Gurney was on song last week scoring 41 and if he finds the same touch this week the crowd will be in for plenty of excitement. The Celtics pose a strong starting 5 with good size (Tom and Harris) and quality shooters (Steens and Robertson), but do hae some questions surrounding the quality and experience of their bench, so a good start will be imperatie for the Celtics if they want to start their season with a win. Prediction: Hot Tomato by 6 Key Factors: Can Celtics get some positie surprises from their bench? Will Celtics be able to contain Dae Gurney? Match-up to watch: Huey Robertson Karl Nilsson Odds: Hot Tomato $1.60 Celtics $ pm (TSS Court 1) Frequency3 Super Freaks (0-1) Ipsure Postels (0-1) Preiew: Despite both teams losing by double digits in round one, there were still some positie signs for both coaches. The biggest gain for either team is clearly in Ipsure s faour with marquee and last year s regular season leading point scorer Daniel Simanic ready to suit up. The Super Freaks started last week well but faltered when they went to their bench and will need better production from their second fie this week and both marquee Zeke Meehl and Andy Chief Harrison will need to be at their best if they want to register their first win of the season. Prediction: Ipsure by 8 Key Factors: How impactie will Daniel Simanic be in his first game back in ISL? Will someone off the F3 bench step up to the challenge to help out their starters? Match-up to watch: Daniel Simanic Zeke Meehl Odds: Ipsure $1.40 Frequency3 $ pm (TSS Court 2) Bowler Bar Battlers (1-0) Brumby s Suns (0-1) Preiew: The Battlers showed why many hae them ranked as the team to beat last week with a comfortable win all be it oer the much less fancied Super Freaks. While the Suns proed to their knockers that een if Thalo isn t aailable they will still be a tough team to beat, falling in the dying stages to the Hornets. Despite that big effort last week, there is little doubt that the Suns will need Thalo this week to combat the size of the Battlers big three in McGregor, Strebl and Waite. Brumby s marquee Adam Darragh and eteran shooter Peter Hill will cause their own problems for the Battlers if they can find range and if Thalo is aailable the will likely be gien plenty of open looks to do so. Don t miss this one!!! Prediction: Bowler Bar by 4 (double digits if Thalo is unaailable).

Match-up to watch: Tim Smith Adam Darragh Odds: Bowler Bar $1.70 Dickfos Dunn $2.25 (If Thalo plays) Odds: Bowler Bar $1.40 Dickfos Dunn $2.90 (If Thalo doesn t play) WOMEN S LEAGUE Round am (TSS Court 2) Celtics Basketball Club (Draft position #5) Beyond Building Energy Rollers (Draft position #2) Preiew: This game, as do all of the Women s round 1 games, looks a flip of the coin on paper. The Celtics hae a lot of experienced and proen players in their higher picks while the Rollers hae some of the best up and coming players in their higher picks. Marquees Pryor (BBE) and Dais (Celtics) should be a great match-up and will be one of the many likely highlights of this game. On paper the BBE girls are probably going to run and gun while the Celtics will look to take adantage of their size adantage of the Rollers. Prediction: BBE by 3. Key Factor: Can Celtics slow down the Rollers? Can the Rollers find a way to oercome the size of the Celtics? Match-up to watch: Pryor Dais Odds: Celtics $1.80 BBE $ pm (TSS Court 2) Sharkey s Healing Centre (Draft position #3) AMB Embroidery Flamingoes (Draft position #4) Preiew: Both teams look ery strong and deep on paper and hae 10 players under the age of 20 between them. AMB are going to be a tough proposition inside all season with marquee and up and coming star Maddie Allen teaming up with smart eteran Rebecca Morris. Add in former WNBL guard Megan Green (when aailable) to delier them the ball and Sharkey s coach Stacey Roberts will hae her hands full in round 1. Sharkey s will be led by ISL 2010 top rated guard Heidi Freeburn and her potential match-up with her assistant coach from last year in Megan Green will be worth the entry fee on its own. Prediction: Sharkey s by 2. Key Factor: Peate impressed in trials, but how will she match-up against the twin towers under game pressure? Will Megan Green be aailable? Match-up to watch: Freeburn Green Odds: Sharkey s $1.85 AMB $ pm (TSS Court 2) Harey World Trael Tweed Heads (Draft position #1) Breastlogic (Draft position #6) Preiew: The first lottery pick the last. HWT will be without superstar marquee Sandy Brondello for the first couple of weeks and will no doubt heaily rely on their bench to play some strong minutes. Rumour has it that both teams hae been training leading into this opening game and are primed to come out of the blocks firing. HWT top pick Carine Reimink will be the focal point of the offense without Brondello and her match-up with Bec Miles is another exciting match-up of round 1 in the women s league. Both teams hae a good balance of positional players when at full-strength; howeer with HWT missing Brondello this will be Breastlogic s best chance to get one oer them and start the season with a win. Prediction: Breastlogic by 6. Key Factor: Who will win the battle of the bigs (Reimink Miles)? Which team gets the most out of their bench players?
