BIG EAST GAMES ALL CAPS Home Games In Bold X FACTORS Xavier made its third NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, including 2004, 2008 and Xavier is one of 21 schools that have been to two or more Elite Eights in the last 10 years and one of 19 schools that have been to three or more in the last 15. Xavier made the 2017 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, defeating No. 6 seed and Big Ten runner-up Maryland, No. 3 seed and ACC runner-up Florida State and No. 2 seed and PAC-12 Champion Arizona to reach the West Regional Semifinal. Xavier has made it to at least the Sweet 16 six times in the last 10 years, one of only nine schools that have been to at least six since Xavier played in its fourth straight NCAA Tournament and its 11th in the last 12 years; only eight schools have been to at least 11 of the last 12 tournaments. Xavier eighth-year head coach Chris Mack has led XU to seven NCAA Tournaments in eight years, including four Sweet 16 appearances. This was his first Elite Eight. Xavier, 24-14, recorded its fourth straight 20-win season and its 11th in 12 years. Xavier won the 2016 Tire Pros Invitational in November in Florida, XU s fourth regular season tournament championship in 10 years and second straight year. Xavier's junior duo of Trevon Bluiett and J.P. Macura were both named to the 2017 five-member All-West Regional Team. Xavier junior Trevon Bluiett, First Team All-BIG EAST and All-BIG EAST Tournament, was second in the BIG EAST in scoring at 18.5 ppg., third in 3-point field goals made per game (2.5) and 10th in rebounding at 5.7 rpg. Xavier's Trevon Bluiett had 19 games with 20 points or more this season, including three of the four NCAA games. He averaged 21.3 ppg. in the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Xavier's Trevon Bluiett is 15th on XU's all-time scoring list with 1,585 points, while fellow junior J.P. Macura is 48th with 1,054 points. Xavier's J.P. Macura was 2nd on the team in scoring (16th in BIG EAST at 14.4 ppg.) and first in free-throw percentage (ninth in the BIG EAST at.785). Xavier freshman Quentin Goodin averaged 5.3 apg. for his 17 straight starts at point guard, including a career-high nine assists in the NCAA win over Maryland. Xavier senior Malcolm Bernard scored a career-high 15 points in the NCAA Regional Semifinal win over Arizona, all of which came in the second half. 4 ELITE AGAIN: Xavier played in its third NCAA Tournament Elite Eight and its first since 2008 when it lost in the 2008 West Regional to Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook and No. 1 seed UCLA in Phoenix, Ariz. XU also advanced to the Elite Eight in 2004 where it fell to No. 1 seed Duke in the Atlanta Regional Final. SWEET SUCCESS IN THE NCAA TOURNA- MENT: Xavier has now made it to at least the Sweet 16 six times in the last 10 years (since 2008), including 2017, 2015, 2012, 2010, 2009 and Only nine teams had made at least six Sweet 16s since 2008: Kansas (7), North Carolina (7), Michigan State (7), Wisconsin (7), Xavier (6), Louisville (6), Duke (6), Arizona (6) and Kentucky (6). Xavier has made eight all-time appearances in the Sweet 16: 1990, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2015 and NCAA TOURNAMENT ELITE COMPANY: Xavier has made 11 of the last 12 NCAA Tournaments and 15 of the last 17. Only eight schools have been to at least 11 NCAA Tournaments in the last 12 years: Duke, Kansas, Gonzaga, Michigan State and Wisconsin are at 12, while Xavier, North Carolina and Villanova are at 11. XAVIER'S NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY: Xavier, all-time in the NCAA Tournament, was 1-6 in NCAA play prior to 1990 but is from 1990-present. XU lost to the eventual National Champions in the first round in 1988 (Kansas) and 1989 (Michigan). Xavier made its 27th all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2017, which includes 17 at-large berths and 10 automatic berths (MCC and A-10). POSTSEASON TRADITION: Xavier made its 30th postseason appearance in the last 35 years ( ). That span includes 26 NCAA Tournament appearances, including four straight, 11 of the last 12 and 15 of the last 17 NCAA Tournaments. XU only made the NCAA field one time (1961) before the season. MACK'S NCAA TOURNAMENT SUCCESS: Eighth-year head coach Chris Mack has four more NCAA Tournament wins (10) than any Xavier head coach in program history. Mack has led Xavier to the NCAA Tournament seven times in his first eight seasons. He is the first XU head coach to lead XU to four Sweet 16s (2010, 2012, 2015 and 2017), twice as many as any other XU coach, and now has his first Elite Eight. Mack also has the distinction of having won NCAA Tournament games as a head coach, an assistant coach and a player at his alma mater. Mack won an NCAA game in 1993 as an XU senior. MACK IS SECOND ON XAVIER'S CAREER WINS LIST: Head coach Chris Mack is (.671) in his eight seasons at the helm and ranks second on Xavier s all-time wins list. He trails only Pete Gillen (202 wins in nine seasons from ) in overall wins. Mack, who played under Gillen at XU, made history when was selected as the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Henry Iba Award winner as National Coach of the Year, Xavier's first-ever national coach of the year. He also earned that honor from CBS Sports and Basketball Times. BIG EAST IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT... SEVEN NCAA BERTHS IN 2017: The BIG EAST Conference has earned 22 NCAA Tournament berths in its first four years in the current 10-team configuration, including seven in The BIG EAST had five in 2016, six in 2015 and four in Nine of the 10 schools in the BIG EAST have earned at least one NCAA berth in the past four seasons: Xavier (4), Villanova (4), Providence (4), Butler (3), Seton Hall (2), Creighton (2), Georgetown (1), St. John s (1) and Marquette (1). SEEING 20-20: Xavier, 24-14, secured its fourth straight 20-win season, its 11th in 12 years and 19th in 21 years. NEUTRAL SITE SUCCESS: Xavier was 8-2 this past season at neutral site venues, including three wins and a championship at the Tire Pros Invitational in Orlando, a 2-1 mark at the BIG EAST Tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York, a 2-0 mark in the NCAA first and second round games at Amway Center in Orlando, Fla., and 1-1 at the West Regional in San Jose, Calif. FOR THE RECORD (XAVIER): Xavier, overall and seventh place at 9-9 in the BIG EAST regular season, was a No. 11 seed in the NCAA West Region. XU's season came to an end with an loss to No. 1 seed Gonzaga in the West Regional Final on March 25 in San Jose, Calif. WIN OVER ARIZONA SENT XAVIER BACK TO THE ELITE EIGHT: Xavier recorded a thrilling come-from-behind win over No. 2 seed and Pac-12 Champion Arizona on March 23, equalling the highest seed that Xavier has ever beaten in the NCAA Tournament. Xavier trailed by eight points, 69-61, with 3:44 left but finished the game on a 12-2 run, including the game-winner from junior Sean O'Mara with 40 seconds left. Junior Trevon Bluiett, who finished with a game-high 25 points, hit a 3-pointer and a couple big free throws during the run. Senior Malcolm Bernard, who scored all 15 of his career-high point total in the second half, also contributed a 3-pointer and a couple big free throws during the decisive 12-2 run. (Xavier trailed with 2:52 left and XU outscored UA 9-0 to finish the game.) The win avenged Xavier's loss to Arizona in a 2015 Sweet 16 matchup. XAVIER ROLLED OVER ACC RUNNER-UP FLORIDA STATE IN THE NCAA SECOND ROUND: Xavier record an impressive win over No. 3 seed Florida State in the NCAA Second Round in Orlando on March 18. Xavier won handily using strong defense, holding FSU to 40 percent shooting, and efficient offense, shooting 55.6 percent from the field and recording 20 assists on its 30 field goals. Junior Trevon Bluiett led all scorers with 29 points, including 21 in the second half. Freshman Tyrique Jones hit 6-of-7 from the field on a his way to 13 points in 17 minutes of action. The Musketeers outrebounded the taller Seminoles XAVIER DEFEATED BIG TEN RUNNER-UP MARYLAND IN THE NCAA FIRST ROUND: Xavier recorded a win over No. 6 seed Maryland in the NCAA First Round in Orlando on March 16. Xavier trailed with under 16 minutes left and with 13 minutes left. That's when XU put together a 14-0 run to take the lead back and take control of the game for good at with nine minutes left. Junior Trevon Bluiett fueled the run with three 3-pointers, while sophomore Kaiser Gates also contributed a trey. Bluiett finished with a game-high 21 points, including 18 in the second half. Junior Sean O'Mara came up big with a career-high 18 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and 8-of-9 free throws to go with a careerhigh seven rebounds. Freshman Quentin Goodin contributed nine points, five rebounds and a career-high and Xavier NCAA record-tying nine assists. JUNIOR DUO CAME UP BIG IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT: Juniors Trevon Bluiett and J.P. Macura earned spots on the fivemember All-West Regional Team. Bluiett averaged 21.3 ppg. for Xavier's four games in the 2017 NCAA Tournament, including 21 (18 in second half) vs. Maryland, 29 (21 in second half) vs. Florida State and 25 (18 in the first half) vs. Arizona. Macura averaged 13.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game in the NCAA Tournament. O'MARA WAS BIG FOR XAVIER IN THE 2017 NCAA TOURNAMENT: Junior Sean O'Mara was Xavier's third-leading scorer during the NCAA Tournament at 10.5 ppg., while hitting 65.0 percent (13-of-20)

5 from the field and 76.2 percent (16-of-21) from the free-throw line. O'Mara scored in double figures in two games, including a career-high 18 in the Maryland win and 11 in the Florida State win. O'Mara scored eight points vs. Arizona, including the game-winner with 40 seconds left. RARE NCAA STARTS FOR XAVIER FRESHMEN: Xavier started two freshmen (Quentin Goodin and Tyrique Jones) for all four of this year's NCAA games, only the second time that Xavier has started two freshmen in any NCAA Tournament game. Then-freshmen Justin Doellman and Justin Cage started all four 2004 NCAA games, helping XU reach its first-ever NCAA Elite Eight. XAVIER DEFEATED BUTLER IN THE BIG EAST QUARTERS: The Musketeers recorded a win over Butler (NCAA No. 4 seed and Sweet 16 participant) on March 9 in the BIG EAST Tournament. Xavier trailed by seven points, 49-42, with under eight minutes left. Junior Trevon Bluiett led the comeback with 17 of his game-high 23 points coming in the second half, including the jumper with 17 seconds left that gave XU the lead for good at Senior Malcolm Bernard contributed 12 points, a Xavier career-high 10 rebounds and a Xavier career-high tying four assists. CLOSE CALLS: Xavier, which defeated Arizona on March 23, compiled a 6-2 record this past season in games decided by four points or less. XU won over Seton Hall on Feb. 1 and at Creighton on Feb. 4. Xavier's other close wins include Wake Forest, 69-65, on Dec. 17. Xavier had only two of its 34 games in the season decided by four points or less. In fact, XU had only one of its 30 regular season games in the season decided by less than seven points, the win over Creighton at Cintas Center (3-5-16). BLUIETT IS IN THE TOP 15 ON THE XAVIER ALL-TIME SCORING LIST: Junior guard Trevon Bluiett, who scored 21 points vs. Maryland on March 16, 29 vs. Florida State on March 18 and 25 vs. Arizona on March 23, moved up to 15th place on XU's alltime scoring list with 1,585 career points. Bluiett, who became a member of XU's 1,000 Point Club in the UNI game on Nov. 20, is 11 points shy of the next target on the list, 14th place Stan Kimbrough (1,596 from ). He joined the 1,000-point club for his career in that Creighton game. Macura now has 1,054 points and stands No. 48 on the XU career scoring list. BIG MINUTES FOR MUSKETEER DUO: Junior Trevon Bluiett was first in the BIG EAST in minutes played at 35.1 mpg. and junior J.P. Macura was third at 33.5 mpg. Bluiett missed most of the Villanova game on Feb. 11 and all of the Providence (Feb. 15) and Marquette (Feb. 18) games due to an ankle injury. BOARD CHAIRMEN: Xavier was second in the BIG EAST Conference and 22nd in the nation in rebound margin (+6.1 rpg.). XU outrebounded 29 of its 38 opponents this season, including (22-5 in offensive rebounds) vs. Villanova on Feb. 11. The rebounding numbers also include a advantage on Dec. 3 at Baylor with an 18-8 offensive rebounding edge. Senior RaShid Gaston led Xavier in rebounding at 5.9 rpg. (sixth in the BIG EAST) and offensive rebounding at 2.4 per game (third in the BIG EAST) in 18.2 minutes per game. Gaston grabbed a game-high and career-high 17 rebounds vs. Creighton on Jan. 16, which included nine offensive rebounds. Junior Trevon Bluiett was second on the team at 5.7 rpg. (10th in the BIG EAST). FOUR GUYS SIGNED THE BUBBLE: When a Musketeer grabs a double-figure rebound total he is asked to sign the rebounding bubble, the device that sits over the rim for rebounding drills in practice. Senior Malcolm Bernard was the last to sign in the season when he grabbed a Xavier career-high 10 rebounds in the BIG EAST Tournament quarterfinal win over Butler on March 9. Sophomore Kaiser Gates signed it on Feb. 8 after grabbing a career-high 10 rebounds vs. DePaul. Senior RaShid Gaston signed it seven times, including for his career-high 17 rebounds vs. Creighton on Jan. 16 (nine offensive rebounds). Gaston had 10 rebounds vs. Missouri on Nov. 17, 11 rebounds at Colorado on Dec. 7 and 14 vs. Utah on Dec. 10. Junior Trevon Bluiett signed it three times, including after a game-high 10-rebound effort at St. John's on Jan. 29 and a gamehigh 10 rebounds to go with a game-high 24 points at DePaul on March 4. Bluiett had 11 rebounds vs. Lehigh on Nov. 11, while freshman Tyrique Jones had 11 vs. Buffalo on Nov. 14.

6 DOUBLE-DOUBLE VISION: Senior RaShid Gaston led Xavier in double-doubles with seven, including four in BIG EAST games. That list included 10 rebounds to go with a Xavier career-high 23 points vs. Villanova on Feb. 11 and 14 rebounds to go with 19 points at Providence on Feb. 15 and 12 points and 10 rebounds at Marquette on Feb. 18. BLUIETT WAS IN THE TOP 10 IN THE BIG EAST IN SCORING AND REBOUNDING: Junior guard Trevon Bluiett, a two-time First Team All-BIG EAST selection, was second in the BIG EAST Conference in scoring at 18.5 ppg., including his 40-point game at Cincinnati on Jan. 26 and 21.3 ppg. in the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Bluiett was second on the team in rebounding (10th in the BIG EAST at 5.7 rpg.). Bluiett posted career highs for points (40), field goals made (12-of-15) and 3-pointers made (a school-record tying 9-of-11) at Cincinnati on Jan. 26. It marked XU's first 40-point game since 2003 National Player of the Year David West had 47 in a win over Dayton at Cintas Center on Feb. 8, BLUIETT'S VISION: Junior Trevon Bluiett posted a team-high point+ games this season, including his gamehigh scoring efforts in all three of Xavier's NCAA wins: 25 points vs. Arizona on March 23, 29 points vs. Florida State on March 18 and 21 points vs. Maryland on March 16. Bluiett, who posted a gamehigh 23-point game in the March 9 win over Butler in the BIG EAST Tournament, had a game-high 24 points to go with a game-high 10 rebounds at DePaul on March 4. Bluiett had a team-high 24 points in the win over Seton Hall on Feb. 1 and a career-high 40 points at Cincinnati on Jan. 26. TREY-VON: Junior Trevon Bluiett was ranked third in the BIG EAST in 3-point field goals made at 2.5 per game, including a career-high and school-record tying nine at Cincinnati on Jan. 26. Romain Sato set the school record with nine vs. Rhode Island ( ). Bluiett connected for six 3-pointers each at Colorado on Dec. 7 and at Baylor on Dec. 3. BIG EAST HONORS... SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR NAMED FIRST TEAM ALL-BIG EAST: Junior Trevon Bluiett was named First Team All-BIG EAST by the league coaches for a second straight year. Bluiett was named on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll five times as a junior. Bluiett has earned Player of the Week honors four times in his career, including twice this past season. BLUIETT WAS NAMED TO THE BIG EAST ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM AGAIN: Junior Trevon Bluiett was named to the All-BIG EAST Tournament Team for the second straight year. Bluiett averaged 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists for Xavier's three games. MACURA MADE A BIG JUMP FROM HIS SOPHOMORE YEAR: Junior J.P. Macura averaged 14.4 points per game (second on the team and 16th in the BIG EAST Conference) and had 32 double-figure scoring games as a junior. Macura, who had 22 points vs. Creighton on March 10 and 14 points vs. Arizona on March 23, posted a 22-point game at Seton Hall on Feb. 22, a 23-point game at Georgetown on Dec. 31 and a 20-point game vs. Georgetown on Jan. 22. He led the team in steals per game at 1.4 spg. (ninth in the BIG EAST), while standing second on the team among active players in assists at 2.9 per game, including a career-high seven vs. Villanova on Feb. 11. Macura led the team and was ninth in the BIG EAST in free-throw shooting at 78.5 percent, including a streak of 20 straight free throws made to start the season. Macura averaged a team-high 19.0 ppg. for Xavier's three games in the Tire Pros Invitational in Orlando in November, including a career-high 28 points on the strength of a career-high six 3-pointers to go with five assists and three steals in the win over Clemson on Nov. 18. Macura was named to the 2016 Tire Pros Invitational All-Tournament Team. STARTING NEW: Junior J.P. Macura, the BIG EAST Sixth Man of the Year, started all 38 games (the only Musketeer to start all 38 games). He started four games as a sophomore. First-year senior Malcolm Bernard started 35 games. Junior Sean O'Mara started the first eight games (first collegiate starts), senior RaShid Gaston started 18 times, while freshman Tyrique Jones made his first 13 collegiate starts in the second half of the season. The only two returning starters were junior Trevon Bluiett and sophomore Edmond Sumner, although Sumner was lost to injury on Jan. 29 and Bluiett missed two games and the majority of a third game late in the season with an injury. Freshman Quentin Goodin made his 18th collegiate start (17th straight) vs. Gonzaga on March 25 and sophomore Kaiser Gates made four starts on the season. GOODIN STARTED WELL: Freshman guard Quentin Goodin, averaged 5.3 assists per game after taking over the starting point guard spot over the last 17 games, including a career-high nine assists in the NCAA win over Maryland on March 16. Goodin was tied for fourth in the BIG EAST Conference in assists for league games at 3.8 apg. and was second in the BIG EAST in assist/turnover ratio for league games at 2.2. Goodin had eight assists at Seton Hall on Feb. 22 and on Feb. 18 at Marquette. His assist/turnover ratio for all games (1.8) ranked fifth in the BIG EAST and his assist average (3.4 apg.) ranked sixth. Goodin, who scored 11 points vs. Creighton on March 10, contributed 11 points, seven assists and six rebounds vs. Butler on Feb. 26. Goodin had 15 points, five assists and a career-high five steals at Creighton on Feb. 4 and dished off eight assists in the Feb. 8 win over DePaul. He had seven assists in the Feb. 1 Seton Hall win. Goodin scored a career-high 16 points to go with two assists in the win over St. John's on Jan. 29. Goodin averaged 35.5 minutes over the last 17 games (17 straight starts), including a career-high 40 vs. Villanova on Feb. 11. GASTON WAS A FORCE ON THE BOARDS... PASSED 1,000 CAREER POINTS: Senior forward RaShid Gaston, who transferred to Xavier from Norfolk State, was third in the BIG EAST in field goal percentage at 59.0 percent, including hitting 8-of-10 at Providence on Feb. 15 on his way to game highs of 19 points and 14 rebounds, while scoring a Xavier career-high 23 points on Feb. 11 vs. Villanova on 10-of-13 shooting from the field to go with 10 rebounds. Gaston led the team and was sixth in the BIG EAST in rebounding at 5.9 rpg. and also led the team in offensive rebounding at 2.4 per game (third in the BIG EAST). Gaston grabbed a game-high and career-high 17 rebounds to go with 12 points vs. Creighton on Jan. 16, an effort which included an XU career-high nine offensive rebounds. Gaston, who has posted a team-high seven double-doubles in scoring-rebounding this season, contributed back-to-back doubledoubles with a 14 rebounds to go with 11 points in the Utah win on Dec. 10 and 14 points to go with 11 rebounds, while hitting 7-of-8 shots from the field, on Dec. 7 at Colorado. Gaston, who scored 14 points in the Wake Forest win on Dec. 17, scored 12 points, had a game-high tying 10 rebounds and blocked four shots on Nov. 17 vs. Missouri. Gaston scored 1,191 collegiate points, including three seasons at Norfolk State. BIG EAST HONORS GASTON: Senior forward RaShid Gaston earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Feb. 13 after averaging 18.5 ppg. and 7.5 rpg. for two games, while shooting 76.2 percent from the field. Gaston had an XU career-high 23 points on shooting vs. Villanova on Feb. 11 and completed the double-double with 10 rebounds.

7 GATES WAS A BIG FACTOR IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT: Sophomore forward Kaiser Gates, was Xavier's fifth-leading scorer for the NCAA Tournament at 7.8 ppg., while hitting 52.4 percent from the field, including 43.8 percent from 3-point range. He scored in double figures in two of the NCAA games, including an 11-point game vs. Maryland on March 16 and a 14-point game vs. Florida State on March 18 on 5-of-6 shooting, including a careerhigh tying four 3-pointers out of five attempts. Gates, who had 11 points and seven rebounds at Marquette on Feb. 18, grabbed a career-high and game-high 10 rebounds in the win over DePaul on Feb. 8. Gates scored 13 points on the strength of 3-of-4 3-point shooting to go with eight rebounds vs. Seton Hall on Feb. 1 and had nine rebounds at Creighton on Feb. 4. Gates hit 6-of-8 from the field, including tying his career high with 4-of-6 3-pointers, on his way to a career-high 17 points in the St. John's win on Jan. 7. Gates grabbed nine rebounds at St. John's on Jan. 29 at Madison Square Garden. Gates underwent a preseason scope procedure on his left knee and missed the first five games. Gates started four games. JONES MADE HIS PRESENCE FELT: Freshman big man Tyrique Jones, who started 13 games including all four NCAA Tournament games, scored 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting vs. Florida State on March 18. Jones was ranked second on the team in offensive rebounding at 1.6 rpg., which ranked 14th in the BIG EAST despite logging 11.0 minutes per game. Jones, who had a 13-point game at Marquette on 6-of-8 shooting, hit 44 of his last 62 shots from the field (71.0 percent) over the last 16 games. Jones hit 8-8 from the field at Creighton on Feb. 4 for a career-high 16 points against heralded Bluejay big man Justin Patton. Jones grabbed a game-high and career-high 11 rebounds vs. Buffalo on Nov. 14. Jones contributed 10 points vs. St. John's on Jan. 7 to go with five rebounds and two blocks. JONES ENJOYED A PERFECT SHOOTING DAY AT CREIGHTON: Freshman Tyrique Jones hit 8-8 from the field at Creighton on Feb. 4 for a career-high 16 points. His 8-8 effort equaled the best field goal percentage effort by a Musketeer in over 20 years. The last time someone did better was then junior Torraye Braggs, who hit 9-9 vs. Western Kentucky on Nov. 23, 1996, (before Tyrique was born). Jones is the only player on the following list that was not a junior or senior. Bernard, a graduate student who played in the season at FAMU, contributed 12 points, a Xavier career-high 10 rebounds and a Xavier career-high tying four assists in the Butler win on March 9. Bernard scored 13 points to go with five rebounds at DePaul on March 4. It marked his third straight game with 13 points. Bernard posted 13 points and a careerhigh tying three steals and four rebounds vs. Butler on Feb. 26 and followed that up with 13 points to go with five rebounds vs. Marquette on March 1. Bernard had 12 points in the win over Georgetown on Jan. 22 and 10 points with eight rebounds at Butler on Jan. 14. Bernard, who started 35 of the 38 games, contributed 10 points in the St. John's win on Jan. 7 on 4-of-4 shooting, including a pair of 3-pointers. Bernard had nine points and seven rebounds vs. Clemson on Nov. 18. O'MARA ENJOYED A CAREER NIGHT VS. MARYLAND: Junior Sean O'Mara was Xavier's third-leading scorer during the NCAA Tournament at 10.5 ppg., while hitting 65.0 percent (13-of-20) from the field. O'Mara scored in double figures in two NCAA games, including a career-high 18 in the Maryland win on March 16 on 5-of-6 shooting to go with a game-high seven rebounds and 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and three blocks vs. Florida State on March 18. O'Mara scored eight points, including the game-winner with 40 seconds left, against Arizona on March 23. O'Mara had 10 points and four rebounds in the Butler win on March 9 in the BIG EAST Tournament. In fact, three of O'Mara's nine double-figure scoring games as a junior came in the postseason. Xavier was 8-1 this past season in games when O'Mara scored in double figures, including 3-0 in the postseason. O'Mara scored 14 points on Feb. 18 at Marquette to go with five rebounds and a career-high three blocks. O'Mara came up big in the Feb. 1 win over Seton Hall with 11 points and five rebounds in 14 minutes of action. O'Mara came up big with 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting to go with five rebounds vs. Missouri on Nov. 17. O'Mara shot 60.7 percent for the season, including 65.0 percent in the NCAA Tournament. SUMNER STOOD OUT: Sophomore Edmond Sumner, a preseason First Team All-BIG EAST selection by the league coaches, suffered a season-ending torn ACL injury in his left knee in Xavier s game vs. St. John s on Jan. 29 at Madison Square Garden. Sumner had successful surgery on March 1. Sumner led Xavier in assists at 5.0 apg. before the injury. Sumner dished off a career-high tying nine assists with zero turnovers vs. Eastern Washington on Dec. 20. Sumner was second on the team in scoring at 15.0 ppg., including a teamhigh 16.9 ppg. in BIG EAST play. He was also second on the team in steals at 1.3 spg. Sumner scored all of his game-high 22 points in the second half at Butler on Jan. 14, his fourth 20-point game of the season. Sumner had a career-high 28 points with eight rebounds and six assists in the Georgetown win on Dec. 31. CONSISTENT CONFERENCE SUCCESS: Xavier, 9-9 in the BIG EAST regular season, has recorded 35 straight seasons at.500 or better in conference play (MCC, Atlantic 10 and BIG EAST). No other school in NCAA Division I had an active streak of more than 30 years: The top five include Xavier (35), Murray State (30), Kansas (28), Kentucky (28) and Gonzaga (26). DEE-FENSE IS KEY: Xavier was 14-1 when it held the opposition under 70 points, including over Butler on March 9, over Maryland on March 16 and over Florida State on March 18. XAVIER SUCCESS IN REGULAR TOURNA- MENTS: Xavier defeated Missouri (83-82 in overtime), Clemson (83-77) and Northern Iowa (67-59) to capture the championship of the 2016 Tire Pros Invitational Nov in Orlando, Fla. Junior Trevon Bluiett was named Tournament MVP and junior teammate J.P. Macura joined him on the All-Tournament Team. XU has now won four regular season tournament championships in 10 years. XAVIER IN THE PROS: Xavier has 23 former players playing professional basketball, including David West (Golden State Warriors), Semaj Christon (Oklahoma City Thunder) and Jordan Crawford (New Orleans Pelicans) in the NBA. All three of last year's scholarship seniors are playing overseas: Remy Abell (Finland), James Farr (Hungary) and Jalen Reynolds (Italy). XU has 20 former players playing professional basketball overseas.
