UC leads the series 49-33, although XU has won the last two games. Xavier has won six of the last eight and seven of the last 10 vs. Cincinnati. Xavier, 9-0 and ranked No. 12 in the AP Poll & No. 13 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, is coming off a win over Wright State on Tues. Xavier s 9-0 start is the best under head coach Chris Mack and equals the best at XU since the school-record 10-0 start in Xavier has six players with double-figure scoring averages. Xavier, BIG EAST rebound margin leader at rpg., is ranked 4th in the nation. Xavier has made more free throws (204) than its opponents have attempts (168). Xavier soph. Trevon Bluiett, on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll three straight weeks, leads XU in scoring at 15.9 ppg. (5th in BIG EAST). Xavier senior James Farr, who leads XU in rebounding at 8.7 rpg. (third in BIG EAST), scored a career-high 18 points vs. WKU on Dec. 5. Xavier has made nine of the last 10 NCAA Tournaments, one of only 11 schools that have at least nine in that stretch. Xavier has been to five NCAA Sweet 16s in the last eight years, one of only nine schools with at least five in that stretch. 3 SKYLINE CHILI CROSSTOWN SHOOTOUT TRADITION: This is the 27th straight year that the Xavier-Cincinnati game has been sponsored by Skyline Chili, the Cincinnatibased Skyline Chili that was founded in 1949 by Nicholas Lambrinides. THE XAVIER-CINCINNATI SERIES: This is the 83rd meeting between Xavier and Cincinnati. Cincinnati leads the series 49-33, although Xavier has won two straight meetings, six of the last eight games and seven of the last 10 games. Going further, XU has won nine of the last 13, 11 of the last 16 and 13 of the last 19 meetings. XAVIER IS AT HOME IN THIS SERIES: Xavier has won six straight in the series as the home team, including the win over the Bearcats at U.S. Bank Arena in the season ( ). XU is 5-1 vs. Cincinnati at Cintas Center, including wins in each of the last five meetings. LAST YEAR S AT 5/3 ARENA: Xavier recorded a win at crosstown rival Cincinnati last season ( ). Xavier fell behind 4-0 at the start but dominated the rest of the first half to take a halftime lead. Eight first-half XU 3-pointers helped offset eight first-half XU turnovers. Dee Davis, who led Xavier with 16 points on 5-of-5 3-point shooting to go with eight assists, hit four of those eight treys in the first half. UC came all the way back to take a lead with 1:10 left but Davis answered with another 3-pointer to put XU back on top with 52 seconds left. A pair of UC free throws gave the home team the lead back at with 19 seconds left. Trevon Bluiett was fouled with 11 seconds left and calmly sank a pair of free throws that put XU back in front for good at RANKINGS IN THE SERIES: The only previous time both teams were ranked for the Crosstown Shootout was in the season when No. 22 Xavier defeated No. 19 UC in overtime at Cincinnati Gardens ( ). XAVIER AS A RANKED TEAM IN THIS SERIES: Xavier is 7-0 in this series when it enters the game ranked by the Associated Press ( , , , , , and ). THE COACHES: Xavier seventh-year head coach Chris Mack, a graduate of Cincinnati s St. Xavier High School and Xavier University, is 4-2 against UC. Cincinnati 10th-year head coach Mick Cronin, a graduate of Cincinnati s La Salle High School and the University of Cincinnati, is 3-6 against XU. FOR THE RECORD (CINCINNATI): Cincinnati, 8-1 and ranked No. 23 in the AP Poll and No. 22 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, is coming off an win over Morgan State on Sunday. UC s only loss was a last-second setback on Dec. 2 vs. Butler, one of Xavier s BIG EAST Conference rivals. XAVIER VS. THE TOP 25: Xavier won its first AP Top 25 challenge and its first true road test this season at then-no. 24 Michigan, on Nov. 20. Three of Xavier s next five games are against Top 25 teams: No. 23 Cincinnati (Dec. 12), No. 9 Villanova (Dec. 31) and No. 18 Butler (Jan. 2). Xavier recorded a 6-4 record against the Associated Press Top 25 last season. BEST START UNDER MACK: Xavier, 9-0, is off to its best start under seventh-year head coach Chris Mack. The 9-0 start equals the start by the squad and is the best since the squad began the season with a school-record 10-0 start. WIN STREAKS: Xavier s nine-game winning streak is its longest since winning the final nine regular season games of the season. Xavier s last streak of more than nine straight wins was an 11- game win streak in the season. XAVIER IS RISING IN THE NATIONAL POLLS: Xavier, 9-0, is No. 12 in this week s Associated Press Poll, its second straight week at No. 12. XU moved up from No. 18 to No. 13 in this week s USA Today Coaches Poll. In addition, XU is No. 12 in the CBSSports.com Poll and No. 11 in the NBCSports.com Poll. THE BIG EAST IS WELL-REPRESENTED IN THE NATIONAL POLLS: Xavier is one of four BIG EAST Conference teams in this week s AP Top 25, including Villanova (9), Xavier (12) and Providence (15) and Butler (18). Xavier is also one of four BIG EAST Conference teams in this week s USA Today Coaches Poll, including Villanova (6), Xavier (13), Providence (18) and Butler (21). Georgetown is among the other teams receiving votes in the AP Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll. Xavier s first two BIG EAST games are at Villanova on Dec. 31 and vs. Butler on Jan. 2. FOR THE RECORD (XAVIER): Xavier, 9-0 and ranked No. 12 in the AP Poll and No. 13 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, is coming off a win over Wright State on Tuesday at Cintas Center. Xavier used a season-best 25-0 run to turn an 8-6 lead with 15:18 left in the first half to a 33-6 lead with under six minutes left in the half. XU led at halftime and never looked back. Sophomore Trevon Bluiett hit a career-high five 3-pointers on his way to a career-high 22 points and completed the double-double with 11 rebounds. Senior James Farr also grabbed double-figure rebounds with 10, helping XU dominate the glass 54-31, including an 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounding. QUITE A THREE- STRETCH: Xavier has outscored its last three opponents by an average of 31.7 ppg., 91.7 ppg. to 60.0 ppg. That stretch includes wins over Dayton (90-61), Western Kentucky (95-64) and Wright State (90-55). IMPRESSIVE ADVOCARE INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SWEEP: Xavier blew out Dayton (90-61), Alabama (64-45) and USC (87-77) to capture the AdvoCare Invitational Championship Nov in Florida. Sophomore Trevon Bluiett and junior Jalen Reynolds were named to the AdvoCare Invitational All-Tournament team. In the championship game win over Dayton on Nov. 29, Xavier led with 18:33 left before using a 21-0 run that blew the game open at with 12:10 left. Xavier placed six players in double figures in scoring, including all five starters. In the semifinal win over USC on Nov. 27, XU used a 17-0 run and rolled to a halftime lead. Xavier extended the lead to as much as 32 points in the second half vs. USC and was never seriously threatened. In the opening game win over Alabama on Nov. 26, Xavier overcame a cold-shooting first half where XU shot just 24.1 percent from the field, including 0-of- 8 on its first eight field goal attempts of the game. Xavier used a 13-0 run to turn a lead into a lead with 13:25 left and never looked back. That win over Alabama raised Xavier s record to 17-5 vs. SEC teams since 2008, a mark that has been compiled against nine different current SEC members.

4 TRUE BALANCED SCORING: Xavier has six players averaging in double figures in scoring through nine games. Sophomore Trevon Bluiett (fifth in the BIG EAST at 15.9 ppg.) leads the way followed by junior Myles Davis (27th in the BIG EAST at 11.1 ppg.), freshman Edmond Sumner (10.6 ppg.), sophomore J.P. Macura (10.6 ppg.), junior Jalen Reynolds (10.3 ppg.) an senior James Farr (10.1 ppg.). BOARD CHAIRMEN: Xavier leads the BIG EAST Conference and is fourth in the nation in rebound margin at rpg. Xavier outrebounded Michigan on Nov. 20, including an 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounding, Alabama on Nov. 26, USC on Nov. 27 and Dayton on Nov. 29. XU has three players ranked in the top 15 in the BIG EAST in rebounding, including two in the top five. Senior James Farr leads the team in rebounding at 8.7 rpg. (third in the BIG EAST) followed by sophomore Trevon Bluiett at 8.1 rpg. (fifth in the BIG EAST) and junior Jalen Reynolds at 6.7 rpg. (tied for 15th in the BIG EAST). THREE GUYS HAVE SIGNED THE BUBBLE: Whenever a Musketeer grabs a doublefigure rebound total they are asked to sign the rebounding bubble, the device that sits over the rim for rebounding drills in practice. Sophomore Trevon Bluiett has signed the bubble three times and leads the team with three double-figure rebound games, including each of the last two games. Senior James Farr has two double-figure rebound games and junior Jalen Reynolds has done it once this year. IF IT S FREE IT S FOR ME: Xavier has hit 204-of-272 from the free-throw line for 75.0 percent, which ranks first in the BIG EAST Conference and 30th in the nation. Xavier has made more free throws (204) than its opponents have attempted (168). Four Xavier players are ranked in the top 10 in free-throw percentage in the BIG EAST: Junior Myles Davis is third (.931), senior Remy Abell is sixth (.880), sophomore J.P. Macura is ninth (.829) and senior James Farr is 10th (.826). BLUIETT HAS BEEN A LEADER: Sophomore guard Trevon Bluiett leads Xavier in scoring at 15.9 ppg. (fifth in the BIG EAST Conference) and 3-point field goals made (second in the BIG EAST at 2.8 mpg.). Bluiett is second on the team in rebounding at 8.1 rpg. (fifth in the BIG EAST Conference). BLUIETT IS DOUBLING UP: Sophomore Trevon Bluiett has scored in double figures in every game this season. The last Xavier player to score in double figures in nine or more games to start a season was Tu Holloway, who scored in double figures in 12 straight games to start his junior season in Bluiett now has three double-doubles in scoring-rebounding this season and four for his career, including each of the last two games: 21 points and 10 rebounds vs. Western Kentucky on Dec. 5 and a career-high 22 points with 11 rebounds vs. Wright State on Dec. 8. Bluiett led Xavier against NKU on Nov. 23 with 14 points, a career-high 16 rebounds and a career-high tying five assists. BLUIETT S HONORS ROLL IN: Sophomore guard Trevon Bluiett, who was named to the AdvoCare Invitational All-Tournament team, is on the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the third straight week. Bluiett earned the honor earlier this week after leading XU vs. Western Kentucky on Dec. 5 with a career-high tying 21 points to go with 10 rebounds. Both totals were also game highs. Bluiett averaged 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 steals per game in four Xavier wins the week of Nov (NKU, Alabama, USC and Dayton). He earned the honor the week before after posting 16.5 ppg. and 8.0 rpg. and shooting 6-of-11 from 3-point range in Xavier wins over Missouri on Nov. 17 and at Michigan on Nov. 20. Bluiett led Xavier with 18 points in the win over Missouri on Nov. 17 to go with seven rebounds and tied for teamhigh scoring honors with 15 points to go with nine rebounds at Michigan on Nov. 20. Bluiett, who was named as a preseason BIG EAST Honorable Mention selection, was listed as the No. 8 high impact sophomore in the nation by Sports Illustrated. Bluiett was listed as the No. 86 player in college basketball by CBSSports. com. Bluiett earned a spot on the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team. HONORS ROLL IN FOR REYNOLDS AS WELL... AMONG TOP PLAYERS AND DUNKERS: Junior forward Jalen Reynolds, who was named preseason First Team All-BIG EAST Conference, was named to the AdvoCare Invitational All-Tournament team. Earlier this year Reynolds earned a spot on the weekly BIG EAST Honor Roll for his 16-point and 15-rebound game vs. Miami. Reynolds, who is averaging 10.3 ppg. and 6.7 rpg. (third on the team and tied for 15th in the BIG EAST Conference), was listed as the No. 9 dunker in college basketball for the season by NBCSports.com (list by Rob Dauster). He also earned a spot on the 2015 All-BIG EAST Championship team. FARR IS DOUBLING UP: Senior James Farr posted his third double-figure rebound game of the season and 11th of his career with 10 vs. Wright State on Dec. 8. Farr, who had a career-high 18-point game vs. Western Kentucky on Dec. 5, is averaging 10.1 ppg. and 8.7 rpg. (first on the team and third in the BIG EAST Conference) through the first nine games. Farr tied his career highs for points (15) and rebounds (14) in the win over Missouri on Nov. 17. Farr, who leads the team in rebounding, collected a game-high 13 rebounds in the win at Michigan on Nov. 20, helping XU dominate the boards FARR IS ON THE MARK: Senior James Farr is 13th in the BIG EAST in field goal percentage (.522), a sharp jump over his career average (.462) entering this season. Farr has only taken two 3-point field goal attempts this season or 2.9 percent of his field goal attempts compared with 35.5 percent of his field goal attempts being from behind the arc over his first three season combined. In addition, Farr is 10th in the BIG EAST in free-throw percentage (.826), a dramatic improvement over his career percentage (.500) entering this season. SENIOR LEADERSHIP: In addition to fellow senior James Farr, Remy Abell has stepped up early in the season. Abell contributed a team-high tying 15 points in the win at Michigan on Nov. 20, including a pair of clutch 3-pointers. Abell is averaging 7.0 ppg. for the season, including 11 points vs. Dayton on Nov. 29, in addition to his exceptional defensive contributions. SUMNER MAKING A STRONG POINT FROM THE START: Redshirt freshman Edmond Sumner, who has started each of the first nine games, is tied for third on the team in scoring at 10.6 ppg. and leads the team in assists at 3.1 apg., including his career-high six-assist game vs. Alabama on Nov. 26. Sumner, who has six double-figure scoring games this season, led Xavier with 19 points in the Miami (Ohio) win on Nov. 13, contributed 14

5 points in the win over USC on Nov. 27 and led Xavier with 14 points vs. Dayton on Nov. 29. MYLES STEPPING UP: Junior Myles Davis, who is second on the team in scoring at 11.1 ppg. (27th in the BIG EAST Conference), had a 16-point, six-assist game vs. Western Kentucky on Dec. 5. Davis is second on the team in assists at 2.8 apg. Davis, who is third in the BIG EAST Conference in free-throw shooting (.931), contributed 14 points, six rebounds and three assists in the win at Michigan on Nov. 20 and 12 points in the win over USC on Nov. 27 and the Dayton win on Nov. 29. MACURA PROVIDING A BIG BOOST OFF THE BENCH: Sophomore J.P. Macura is giving Xavier a big lift off off the bench at 10.6 ppg. (tied for third on the team) in 21.1 minutes per game. Macura averaged 5.4 ppg. as a freshman. Macura tied his career scoring high with 17 points in the Miami win on Nov. 13 and contributed 14 points to the win over Alabama on Nov. 26. AUSTIN JR. IS MAKING A POINT: Sophomore Larry Austin Jr. has solidified his position as the backup point guard, logging 13.0 minutes per game over the first nine games. LONDON MORE THAN AN ESPN TOP 10 PLAY: Freshman Makindé London s no-look pass and the dunk finish by sophomore Sean O Mara vs. USC on Nov. 27 made the No. 6 play on ESPN s Top 10 on Nov. 27. London, who has played in each of the last eight games, has been a key contributor off the bench recently. London had six points, one rebound and one steal in 10 minutes vs. Alabama on Nov. 26 and followed that up with a career-high five rebounds in 11 minutes vs. USC on Nov. 27 and a career-high two assists in five minutes vs. Dayton on Nov. 29. O MARA IS EARNING MORE TIME: Sophomore Sean O Mara had career highs in back-to-back games vs. Dayton on Nov. 29 and Western Kentucky on Dec. 5. He trails only Pete Gillen (202 wins in nine seasons from ) and Skip Prosser (148 wins in seven seasons from ) on the XU all-time wins list. Mack played under Gillen and then-gillen assistant Prosser and worked on Prosser s staffs at XU and Wake Forest. Mack has led Xavier to the NCAA Tournament five times in his six seasons at the helm. Mack, 45, led Xavier to the NCAA Tournament in five of his first six seasons at the helm, including the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in 2010, 2012 and He is the only Xavier head coach that has led XU to three Sweet 16s.
