Sharon Dawley begins her fifth season with the team and 21st as a head coach overall in Two-time Olympic gold medal winner and WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Yolanda Griffith was named an assistant coach on Sept. 5, Thirty-year coaching veteran Chris Wielgus was elevated from director of operations to assistant coach on Sept. 3, Kim Pierre-Louis ranked fifth in the A-10 for field goal percentage (.483) in Emily Mital finished ninth in the A-10 for threepoint field goal percentage (.366) and 12th in made three-pointers per game (1.7) in Rashida Timbilla ended her sophomore season with a career average of 7.9 rebounds per game, tied for fourth-best in program history among competitors with at least 50 games played alongside Octavia Thomas ( ). Massachusetts returns leading scorer Kim Pierre- Louis and top rebounder and assists extraordinaire Rashida Timbilla alongside three-point leader Emily Mital. Pierre-Louis and Mital enter their senior seasons while Timbilla begins her junior year after two campaigns as a starting guard and forward. Paula Tarnachowicz rounds out the three-member senior class. The season marks the second for Tarnachowicz with the Minutewomen as she is a transfer from Panola College in Carthage, Texas. Tarnachowicz, tied for the tallest on the team at 6-foot-2, will again occupy the paint for UMass after she appeared in 23 games and made a pair of starts as a junior in Sophomore Kymber Hill and freshman Maggie Mulligan also measure 6-foot-2 and could play important roles in the interior game for the Minutewomen with Pierre-Louis, Timbilla and Tarnachowicz. Hill started 21 of the 30 games she played in as a freshman and scored 4.4 points with 3.4 rebounds over 19.3 minutes per contest. Mulligan is entering her first year with the program after she tallied 1,010 points, grabbed 803 rebounds and blocked 525 shots over her scholastic career at Boston Latin High School. 3 Massachusetts Women s Basketball Opponent Information Scouting The Western Michigan Broncos Western Michigan women s basketball returns all five of its starters from the squad that finished overall and 8-10 in MAC games. The Broncos were led by Miracle Woods 16.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest while Marquisha Harris followed closely behind as she scored 12.9 in each game and added 7.1 boards per appearance. Harris enters her senior season while Woods is a junior starters A.J. Johnson, Alex Morton and Jazmine Windham also suit up for the Broncos again in Johnson and Windham are seniors alongside Harris while Morton is a member of the junior class with Woods. Shane Clipfell enters his third season as the team s head coach. He brought 14 years of NCAA Division I coaching experience to Kalamazoo with him, including five as an assistant at Michigan State. Clipfell has also worked at Eastern Michigan, coached at Glen Oaks Community College and led the Colon High School squad. Last Meeting: Western Michigan 66, Massachusetts 58 The UMass women s basketball team opened its campaign with a loss to Western Michigan at the Mullins Center on Friday, Nov. 8. Nola Henry provided 13 points, five assists and four rebounds as the starting point guard while Jasmine Harris and Emily Mital also reached double-digits on 10 points each. Miracle Woods, WMU s leading scorer during and , provided 19 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the floor and a 3-of-7 performance at the free throw line. Jazmine Windham earned 13 points while Michelle O Brien grabbed 17 rebounds. The Broncos used a 10-point run capped at the 11 minutes, 49 second mark of the first to stake themselves to a lead they did not relinquish during the rest of play. Western Michigan grew its advantage to 13 points during the opening minutes of the second half as a Windham layup with 16:33 to play in the game made it in favor of the Broncos. Both sides were able to convert attempts on their respective offensive ends until Massachusetts used a 7-1 run over 1:50 of game play to pull within The Broncos added a jumper from Alex Morton and a set of free throws from A.J. Johnson to double their lead before Mital connected on a three-point as the deficit fell to five, with 2:20 remaining. However, Western Michigan sank 7-of-9 free throws to build its advantage during the closing minutes and keep the Minutewomen out of a potential game-tying situation. She will vie for minutes at the guard position with Mital, redshirt junior Amber Dillon, junior Victoria Stewart and newcomers Cierra Dillard and Leah McDerment. Stiff notched 2.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 26 appearances last year while Dillon also scored 2.6 points per game and dished out 23 assists on the season. Stewart played 39 minutes during 12 appearances in McDerment traveled to UMass from Stockport, England, where she was her country s 2013 U16 Player of the Year following her performance at the 2012 U16 European Championship. She continued her growth in the game with a selection to Great Britain s U20 roster in the Summer 2013 after she competed with the U18 squad at the European Championship. Dillard, the all-time leading scorer in Gates Chili High School girl s basketball history, finished her scholastic career as one of only 20 girls in New York State Section V history with more than 2,000 points. She was a three-star recruit according to ESPN and was nominated alongside UMass teammate Ciara Rosten for the 2014 McDonalds All-American Game. Rosten, a forward, surpassed 1,000 career points and rebounds during her junior year at Maryvale High School and went on to be chosen for the New York Sportswriters and Coaches Organization All-State team. The University of Massachusetts also added one transfer to the roster during the offseason that will be eligible following the mandated NCAA transfer policy year-inresidency. Alyssa Lawrence, who will redshirt the season, played forward at San Diego State as a true-freshman in after she graduated from The Ursuline School in New Rochelle, N.Y. Lawrence was a three-star prospect according to ESPN who earned all-league an all-section accolades during her scholastic playing days. There are new faces on the coaching and administrative staff as well in Yolanda Griffith, a two-time gold medal winning Olympian with Team USA, joined the coaches as an assistant after stops at Dartmouth ( ) and Lafayette ( ). Kellie Olson, a two-year standout at Stetson from , was named the director of operations after Chris Wielgus, who has 30 years of coaching experience, was elevated to assistant coach from director of operations. Watch UMass Live Through The A-10 Digital Network UMass women s basketball will have 12 of its 13 home games broadcast online through the Atlantic 10 Digital Network, with Cody Chrusciel providing play-by-play commentary. The lone game that will not be broadcast on the A-10 platform will be available on TV through the CBS Sports Network as CBSSN will air the UMass-George Washington tilt on Jan. 18, WMUA To Again Serve As Radio Partner Each Massachusetts women s basketball contest during the campaign will be broadcast live on WMUA 91.1 FM. Fans can listen in through the FM radio station locally or catch the game via the online live streaming app, which is free of charge and linked in each game preview as well as on the interactive team schedule. CBS Sports Network To Show UMass-GW Tilt UMass will host a televised game when George Washington stops by the Mullins Center for a Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015 contest. The game with be shown live on CBS Sports Network with tipoff scheduled for 2 p.m. Since it is on television the game will not be available online through the Atlantic 10 Digital Network. 5 University of Massachusetts Women s Basketball Game Notes Mital Good From Afar Entering her fourth year as a Minutewoman Emily Mital has hit 108 career three-pointers for the Maroon and White, the seventh-most in the history of the program. She needs to make 21 more to pass Kim Benton ( ) for sixth all-time. Her junior season success earned her the spot on UMass all-time leaderboard for made threepointers as she went 52-for-142 (36.6 percent) during the campaign. As a sophomore in , Mital hit 48 of her 151 tries from long distance (31.8 percent) after she finished 8-of-39 in the category as a freshman (20.5 percent). She is also seventh all-time in three-point field goal attempts (328) while her 52 threes made over the course of the season put her ninth in the single-season rankings. Griffith Joins Coaching Staff Yolanda Griffith, a two-time Olympic gold medalwinning member of the U.S. National Team and WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, joined the UMass coaching staff on Sept. 5. Griffith, a 2014 first ballot inductee into the Women s Basketball Hall of Fame, played 11 seasons in the WNBA and was the 2005 finals MVP when Sacramento won the WNBA Championship. Most recently, Griffith assisted at Lafayette in after she spent two seasons as a coach on the Dartmouth staff in Wielgus Named Assistant Coach Chris Wielgus was elevated from director of operations to assistant coach ahead of the season. Wielgus served as the director of operations during and has 30 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level. Wielgus was the women s basketball coach at Dartmouth for 28 years ( ; ), where she led the Big Green to seven NCAA Tournament appearances and two WNIT berths. She also coached the Fordham Rams to 37 victories over a two-season span from and has 436 victories as a collegiate head coach in total. Olson To Fill Operations Role Kellie Olson took over as the women s basketball director of operations Sept. 4, Olson brought a wealth of experience within the corporate realm to the position as she has worked for UPS as an accounts executive and UMass Athletics with the Learfield Sports Marketing team. Olson competed for the Stetson women s basketball program from after two seasons at Mesa Junior College. Following completion of her competitive career, Olson stayed involved in basketball as an official. She has refereed games since 2010, including ECAC Division III (2012) and Northeast-10 Division II (2013) contests. She is the granddaughter of legendary Arizona men s basketball head coach and NCAA Champion Lute Olson. Turning Them Aside Now-junior guard and forward Rashida Timbilla ranks among the conference leaders in blocked shots per game in Timbilla accumulated a team-leading 25 stuffs over 28 appearances for an average of 0.9 per game, the 12th-most in the Atlantic 10. Through 57 career games played with the Minutewomen, Timbilla has 46 blocks, tied for the 14th-most in program history with Kara Tudman ( ) and Tara Lewis ( ). Mital, The Scholar Senior guard Emily Mital received a pair of Atlantic 10 Commissioner s Honor Roll awards during Mital, a kinesiology major and a member of the University of Massachusetts Dean s List, was also chosen for the Atlantic 10 Commissioner s Honor Roll following the Spring 2013 semester to give her three nods to the two-per-year academic listing in four semesters eligible for it. Dialed In From Distance Emily Mital provided a consistent presence from beyond the arc as a junior in as she hit 36.6 percent of her attempts from long distance (52-of-142), the ninth-highest percentage in the Atlantic 10 Conference. She was one of only 11 league competitors to make at least 36.0 percent of her attempts and qualify for the top-15 in three-point field goal percentage. Mital was also 12th in the Atlantic 10 for made three-point field goals per game (1.7). Improving Accuracy Emily Mital has improved her three-point conversion rate over each of her three seasons at UMass. She connected on 20.5 percent as a freshman (8-of-39), was 48-for-151 as a sophomore (31.8 percent) and hit 36.6 percent of her treys (52-of-142) in Including her current junior year statistics, Mital is 106-of-328 on treys as a Minutewoman (32.3 percent) entering her senior season. It is the seventh-most made threes in program history and 20 shy of tying Kim Benton ( ) for sixth-most. Pierre-Louis rebounding total marks the most in a single game for one Minutewoman since Kate Mills pulled down 19 against Dayton on March 7, 2008, a span of 161 games. She Gets Buckets Kim Pierre-Louis provided a consistent shot in and around the paint as a junior in , which led her to hold the fifth-highest field goal percentage in the Atlantic 10 at.483 as she finished 166-for-344 from the floor. Her percentage makes her one of only seven Atlantic 10 women s basketball players to qualify for the top-15 listing with a mark at or above 48.0 percent. For her career, Pierre-Louis has never shot less than 44.4 percent for a season and has made 218 of her 459 attempts as a Minutewoman (47.5 percent). She was 20-of-43 as a freshman (46.5 percent) and 32-for-72 over her sophomore campaign (44.4 percent). Cleaning The Glass Rashida Timbilla continued her run as one of the most successful rebounders in the Atlantic 10 Conference as a sophomore in The Ottawa, Ontario, native averaged 7.4 boards per game over 28 appearances and finished 11th in the A-10 for rebounding average. Timbilla was also ninth for defensive rebounds (5.5) and chipped in the second-most offensive rebounds per game (1.9) among all Minutewomen behind Kim Pierre-Louis 3.3, which ranked Pierre- Louis third in the conference. A season ago Timbilla ripped down a team-high 241 rebounds, including 110 off of the offensive glass. It marked the seventh-most boards in the Atlantic 10, making her the only underclassman in the top-15 and the lone freshman among the 20 best in the conference. Among all first-year players in UMass women s basketball history, Timbilla s 241 rebounds ranks as the second-highest total for a freshmen in the 45-year history of the program. Taking Care Of The Rock Despite drawing two defenders at times, Rashida Timbilla took care of the ball in her 28 appearances as a sophomore and earned a 1.1 assist-to-turnover ratio as a result. Timbilla turned it over 75 times but dished out 86 assists - the most among all Minutewomen - to counter the turnovers. She has led or tied for the team-high on the squad in assists during 15 contests during and averaged a team-high 3.1 per appearance, the 13th-most in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Ottawa, Ontario, native also appeared on the league s assistto-turnover top-15 in 14th place overall. Timbilla as the only forward to earn a spot on the conference s top-15 for assists per game for assist-to-turnover ratio.

7 University of Massachusetts Women s Basketball Coaching Staff Head Coach SHARON DAWLEY Fifth Season At UMass // 21st Season As Head Coach Overall // St. Anselm 83 Sharon Dawley was named as the 10th head coach in the history of the University of Massachusetts women s basketball program on April 6, 2010, and begins her fifth season at the helm for the Minutewomen in In her first season in Amherst, Dawley coached her squad to one of the best three point shooting percentages in the country, highlighted by Cerie Mosgrove, who led the nation with 49.7 percent clip from beyond the arc. Mosgrove, one of several Minutewomen who enjoyed career years under Dawley s guidance in , went on to win the National Women s Three-Point Shooting Championship at the men s Final Four in Houston, Texas. Simultaneously, Dawley and her staff helped 2013 graduate Jasmine Watson develop into one of the most successful players in program history. Watson eclipsed 1,000 career points during the first game of her senior season to become the 19th member of the UMass women s basketball 1,000-point club while she capped her career among the top-20 all-time in more than a dozen program statistical categories. Dawley came to UMass after a highly successful tenure with the Catamounts that included two consecutive America East Championships ( and ) and three straight postseason berths. In seven seasons at Vermont, Dawley posted a mark of (.598) and holds a career record of (.539) through 20 seasons as a head coach. She became the winningest coach in Vermont women s basketball history when the Catamounts upset No. 7-seed Wisconsin in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on March 21, 2010, the program s first NCAA tournament victory. Under Dawley s guidance, Vermont earned an automatic NCAA Tournament berth as a No. 10 seed after successfully defending its America East Tournament title in The Catamounts defeated top-seeded and No. 21-ranked Hartford in the conference championship game, UVM posted a record of 27-7 that season, the third-highest wins total for the program all-time, and led the nation with 18 road victories. Dawley earned her 100th career win at Vermont with a victory over Hartford in the semifinals of the 2009 America East Championship as UVM went on to capture its first conference title since The Catamounts made their first NCAA Tournament appearance in nine years where the squad fell to eventual national champion Connecticut. 7 During Dawley s stint at Vermont, 23-of-28 players that played earned America East academic and/or athletic accolades. She coached a player of the year, defensive player of the year, rookie of the year, two-time scholar-athlete and two-time most outstanding player at the America East Tournament. Under Dawley s direction, the Catamounts earned six allconference picks, four all-rookie nods and two all-academic team honors. In , Dawley guided Vermont to one of its best seasons in the program s existence. The Catamounts went 24-9 overall, recording the fourth most wins all-time, and were the America East runners-up during the regular season with a 13-3 league mark. UVM also earned its second trip to the WNIT in school history and the first postseason appearance in Dawley s tenure in The Catamounts drew regional rival Dartmouth in the first round and Dawley faced her former mentor Chris Wielgus on the opposing sideline. 8 University of Massachusetts Women s Basketball Coaching Staff In , Dawley led UVM to a record and a third place finish in America East. She guided the Catamounts to a 13-3 start and the year was highlighted with Vermont s first-ever win over a ranked opponent when the Catamounts upset No. 22 Boston College in the championship game of the URI Invitational. After being picked to finish eighth in the league s preseason poll, Dawley coached Vermont to a No. 3 seed in the America East Championship and the Catamounts advanced to the semifinals. The Catamounts were also named one of the most improved teams in the country at the Division I level following the campaign. In Dawley s first season on the Vermont sidelines ( ), she posted the best start by a first-year head coach at Vermont, guiding the Catamounts to a 6-2 mark to begin the season. Vermont finished the year with a record of and wrapped up the regular season with victories over No. 1 Maine, No. 2 Binghamton and No. 4 Albany on the road. Vermont s victory at Maine snapped the Black Bear s 31-game conference win streak. Under Dawley s guidance, the Vermont women s basketball team also enjoyed success in the classroom. During her seven years at the helm of the Catamounts, her student-athletes earned 55 America East Academic Honor Roll citations, including 23 nominations to the America East Commissioner s Academic Honor Roll for achieving a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. On Dawley s watch, May Kotsopoulos earned the America East Women s Basketball Scholar-Athlete honor twice heading into the season. Three of Dawley s players at Vermont were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I Women s Basketball First Team and Kotsopoulos became the third player in school history to be tabbed an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American in Amy Rosenkrantz `09 and Kotsopoulos were candidates for the Lowe s Senior CLASS Women s Basketball Award in back-to-back years, as well. In , Dawley s first year at Vermont, the Catamounts ranked 10th out of the top 25 Division I teams selected to the Women s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll for Division I. The award recognizes the nation s highest team grade point averages for that season. Prior to arriving at Vermont, Dawley spent 10 years as a member of the women s basketball staff at Dartmouth College. She served as an assistant coach from and was promoted to associate head coach under Chris Wielgus in July of Before joining the Dartmouth staff, Dawley served as head women s basketball coach at Tufts University for nine seasons. She compiled a record of (.688). Dawley led the Jumbos to a Northeast Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship in just her third season ( ). Tufts reached the NIAC title game in her first five seasons. The Jumbos advanced to the ECAC Championship semifinals in three of Dawley s final four seasons, the first postseason appearances in the program s history. Now One season removed from playing sparingly as a sophomore, Kim Pierre-Louis established herself as a strong around-the-basket scoring threat over the course of the schedule. Pierre-Louis lead the Minutewomen with 13.1 points per game - just outside the top-15 for the Atlantic 10 - due to holding the fifth-best field goal percentage in the conference at 48.3 percent (166-of-344). In comparison, during her sophomore season Pierre-Louis only produced 4.4 points per game as she shot 32-of-72 on field goal attempts (44.4 percent) and 19-of-28 from the free throw line (67.9 percent). Before that, the Ottawa, Ontario, native averaged just 2.9 points and 4.6 minutes played as a freshman over 20 appearances during the 29-game season in Taking The Balanced Approach UMass had five players score in double-figures during its game at George Mason on Feb. 8, the second time in the Minutewomen had as many eclipse 10 points in a single game after not recording such a performance during Massachusetts also had five score in double-digits against George Washington on Jan. 29, Against the Colonials, Rashida Timbilla scored 16 points, Jasmine Harris added 14, Kiara Bomben provided 11 and Amber Dillon and Emily Mital notched 10 apiece. Only nine days later, Kim Pierre-Louis led the squad with 15 points, Harris notched 14, Nola Henry tallied 13, Mital went for 11 more and Bomben notched 10. The most recent occurrence prior to the season was on Dec. 21, 2010, when UMass had five score in double-figures against Miami (Ohio). Thomas Joins A-10 Legends UMass standout Octavia Thomas was one of 13 former A-10 women s basketball student-athletes named to the conference s Legends Class of Thomas provided UMass women s basketball with 1,791 points and 903 rebounds during her fouryear career as she led the Minutewomen to the 1995 WNIT and 1996 NCAA Tournament. George Trigger Burke was an all-america selection in 1956 as he also took in All-East, All-New England, All-Yankee Conference and all-boston Garden. She was honored along with 12 women s hoops compatriots and the 13 men s basketball inductees during the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship. TImbilla AMong All-Time UMass Rebounders With an appearance against St. Bonaventure on Feb. 8, 2014, Rashida Timbilla played in her 50th game with the Minutewomen, the minimum required to be eligible for the program s top-20 for rebounding average. Through two complete seasons on the squad, Timbilla averages 7.9 boards per appearance (448), tied for the fourth-highest in program history with Octavia Thomas ( ). Timbilla led the Minutewomen in rebounding during both of her collegiate campaigns. She had 241 over 29 games as a freshman and provided 207 in 28 appearances during International Appeal Among the 13 Minutewomen on the active roster at the start of the season are four international players hailing for three countries. A pair, Kim Pierre-Louis and Rashida Timbilla, come from the same city in Ottawa, Ontario, while Paula Tarnachowicz originates from Gdynia, Poland, and Leah McDerment hails from Stockport, England. The four internationally-born players are tied for the second-most on one season s roster in program history with the and campaigns. The squad has had at least one international student-athlete active on the roster in each of the last 15 seasons and 20 of the previous 21. Champions Center Update The UMass Athletic Department is in the process of constructing a dedicated basketball training facility directly South of the Mullins Center. The facility is scheduled to be completed by Summer 2015 and will give the basketball programs their first dedicated practice and training facility. 11 University of Massachusetts Women s Basketball Game Notes Bench Production Amped Up UMass women s basketball received strong production from its bench personnel during , led by the emergence of then-junior forward Kim Pierre-Louis as a scoring threat around the basket. The Minutewomen reserves averaged 20.2 points per game and notched at least 20 points in 16 individual contests, including season-highs of 42 scored at Holy Cross on Nov. 26, 2013 and against Richmond Feb. 19, As a non-starter, Pierre-Louis averaged 13.0 points per game, hitting 122-of-246 field goal attempts (49.6 percent) taken over 20.8 minutes per appearance during her 23 non-starts. In 15 of those contests she has scored in double-figures, including 12 of the last 14. Ready Inducted Hall Of Fame Julie Ready-Mulvey was inducted into the UMass Athletics Hall of Fame as one of the all-time great players for the women s basketball team. During her four years, UMass posted one of its most successful win totals (60) in program history. Ready finished her career ranked eighth all-time in scoring at UMass with 1,406 career points, including a 20.7 point per game average as a senior. An all-american and all-region selection, Ready was also invited to compete for a spot on the 1980 U.S. Olympic Team, but a stress fracture caused her not to miss the tryout. During her career, Ready was twice nominated as one of 30 individuals for the Wade Trophy as player of the year. Tamara Tatham Represents Team Canada At FIBA Worlds Former University of Massachusetts women s basketball standout Tamara Tatham ( ) represented her alma mater and her country with inclusion on the Team Canada roster for the 2014 FIBA World Championship. The Canadian National Team and Tatham finished in fifth place after the squad entered competition ranked No. 9 internationally. Canada defeated China, the Czech Republic, France and Mozambique during the seven-game tournament. Tatham has represented her country since 2006 and was a featured member of the teams fielded at the 2012 Olympic Games as well as the FIBA Americas Tournaments. Alyssa Lawrence Transfers In Alyssa Lawrence joined the women s basketball team ahead of Lawrence will sit out as per NCAA transfer policy and will be a redshirt-sophomore in Lawrence, a native of New Rochelle, New York, played for San Diego State University as a freshman in Prior to that, she attended The Ursuline School and competed for AAU programs Ring City and the New Jersey Sparks. Lawrence was an all-league and all-section honoree and received a three-star grade from ESPN HoopGurlz. Leah McDerment Added To Incoming Class Leah McDerment was a late addition to the women s hoops class as she signed her NLI to join the Minutewomen on Friday, April 25. McDerment, a 5-foot-10 guard from Stockport, England, brings experience on the English Women s National Program with her to the University of Massachusetts. In addition to her tenure with the national program and the Barking Abbey Division I travel team, McDerment also played for the Manchester Mystics U14, U16 and U18 squads. Watson Balling In Romania Former University of Massachusetts women s basketball center Jasmine Watson ( ) currently plays overseas for CSM Targoviste of the Romania National League. She previously competed for ASC Sepsi, another squad in the same league, following her graduation from the University of Massachusetts in the Spring of Watson, a four-year starter for the Minutewomen, averages 8.0 points per game and 5.8 rebounds in each contest as the starting center for Targoviste, which opened the year with a 9-1 start. She is the latest in a long line of former Minutewomen to compete professionally overseas, which also includes alumnae Jennifer Butler (France, Slovakia, Turkey), Kate Mills (Portugal, Spain), Cerie Mosgrove (Luxembourg), Pam Rosanio (Italy, Sweden), Alisha Tatham (Belgium, Canada, Switzerland), Tamara Tatham (Canada, Finland, Germany, Slovakia) and Megan Zullo (Romania). UMass Signs Three For Cierra Dillard, Maggie Mulligan and Ciara Rosten each signed their NLI to attend the University of Massachusetts and compete for the women s basketball program during 2013 signing day. Dillard, a 2012 honorable mention all-american, finished her scholastic career as the all-time leading scorer in Gates Chili High School history and was one of only 20 girls in New York State Section V history with more than 2,000 career points. She was ranked a three-star recruit by ESPN. At 6-foot-2, Mulligan will add length and height to the UMass squad. She finished her playing days at Boston Latin High School with 1,010 points, 803 rebounds and 525 assists and was named USA Today All-Massachusetts in Rosten, also 6-foot-2, was a 1,000-point scorer at Maryvale High School in Cheektowaga, New York, and was also nominated to the 2014 McDonalds All-American Game alongside Dillard.
