36 Howard Bohnhoff Bus Driver Howard began driving Dieterich school bus routes and athletic events in 1956 until his retirement in He drove to High School and Junior High Boys and Girls Basketball games, Volleyball games, Baseball games, and Cross-Country and Track Meets. Howard also kept scorebook for many away basketball games that he drove, as well as, many home games during his time here at DHS.
37 Chuck Fritscher Scorekeeper Current Has served as a scorekeeper and bus driver for athletic events for over 30 years running Served in that capacity for 7 different coaches In April of 2016, Chuck will be inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame as Friend of Basketball for his many years of services to Dieterich Athletics.
38 Bud Ervin Clock/Announcer Has served as a clock operator for Dieterich Athletics for more than 15 years. Served as the Voice of Dieterich Athletics for more than 15 years while serving as game announcer for basketball and baseball tournaments and regionals.
39 John Ruholl Bus Driver 1983-Current John began driving Dieterich school bus routes and athletic events in 1983 and still drives a bus route and athletic trips today. His most memorable time driving was the 7 th grade State Championship Tournament ( ) when he drove through a blizzard to get the team to the game. John immensely enjoys driving all coaches and teams to events. The love and support I have received from the coaches, teams, school, and community has really helped me through some extremely hard times. I consider you all family and pray for God s blessings over each one of you.
40 Wright s Furniture Wright s Furniture has been an avid supporter of Dieterich Athletics since the beginning of formation of organized athletic programs. They annually contribute financially to support the ongoing viability of the programs as well as in kind contributions for special events. They are members of the Dieterich Sportsbackers and Tom Wright has served as founding President of the organization as well as serving in the same capacity several years later. When there is a need in the athletic programs, Wright s Furniture has always stepped up and offered whatever assistance they could provide. They take great pride in being a strong supporter of Maroon Nation.
41 Dieterich Bank Dieterich Bank would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Dieterich athletic teams on the many successful seasons and accomplishments throughout the years. In the spirit of community banking Dieterich is eager to support the school and athletic programs. 44 1965 Boys Basketball Team In Dieterich basketball team finished the season with a 20-7 record. They were led by Richard Thomas on the outside and Bill Steppe on the inside. The team won the first District title in the school s history. Dieterich was defeated by Lawrenceville in the championship game of the regional. The Fighting Maroons captured 2nd in the Midland Trail Conference. 45 2004 Boys Basketball Team The Dieterich Boys Basketball Team finished the season with a 25-3 record. Their achievements include: Cumberland Thanksgiving Tournament Champions, Dieterich Holiday Tournament Champions, and MTC Conference Champions. This team was considered one of the more talented basketball teams in Dieterich sports history. Three of its players have been inducted as Individuals to the Dieterich Athletic Hall of Fame. 46 1971 Boys Basketball Team The Dieterich basketball team finished the season with a 16-9 record that was capped off by winning the 2nd District title in school s history beating Allendale, Palestine, and Hutsonville. Among their other achievements was finishing 3rd at the Clay City Holiday Tournament. 47 1974 Boys Basketball Team The 1974 Dieterich basketball team is considered by some the best basketball team in school history. The season was nothing short of spectacular with 25 wins against 1 loss. That year Dieterich was the last undefeated team in the state when they suffered their season-ending loss to arch-rival T-Town in the District Championship. Undefeated Midland Trail Conference Champion and Vandalia Holiday Tournament Champions.
