4 KIDD TURNS 10: Jason Kidd was honored as an All-Star for the 10 th time in his career after being named a replacement (Kobe Bryant) by Commissioner David Stern. Kidd cut short a planned trip to Phoenix to participate in the All-Star Game. He played 6 minutes off the bench and came down with 2 rebounds, dished 1 assist and grabbed 1 steal. Kidd and Dirk Nowitzki became the first set of Mavs teammates to play on the same All-Star team since Nowitzki and Josh Howard (Las Vegas, 2007). OH WHAT A NIGHT!: For the 9 th consecutive season, Dirk Nowitzki represented the Western Conference in the 59 th NBA All-Star Game. Nowitzki and his teammates played before a record 108,713 fans in the largest crowd to ever watch a basketball game as the East was victorious ( ). Originally voted into the game as a reserve, Nowitzki was named to the starting lineup by George Karl in place of an injured Kobe Bryant. Nowitzki finished the game with an All-Star career-high 22 points (8-15 FGs, 6-6 FTs), 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in 28 minutes. He has made more appearances than any player in franchise history and, along with Jason Kidd, is the only Maverick to start an All-Star Game (also Las Vegas, 2007). SHOOTING STAR: Dirk Nowitzki, San Antonio Silver Stars guard Becky Hammon and TNT analyst/houston Rockets legend Kenny Smith won the 2010 Haier Shooting Stars contest as members of the Team Texas contingent. In the final round, Nowitzki hit a half court shot giving the team a total time of 39.3 seconds and the victory over Team Los Angeles. Beaubois s 9 3s are the most by any rookie in Mavericks history (previously: 8 (of 12), Jason Kidd at HOU, 4/11/95). He is only the 3 rd player in the NBA this season to hit 9 3s in a game (also DEN s Smith 10 and DEN s Billups 9). MORE ON RODDY: Roddy Beaubois became the 8 th rookie since the season and the 2 nd this season to score 40+ points in a game. Beaubois joins MIL s Brandon Jennings as the only rookies to score 40 in a game this year. Jennings had 55 also against GS (11/14/09). Beaubois, OKC s Kevin Durant and DEN s Carmelo Anthony are the only first-year players from the West to score 40+ points in that span. Durant scored 42, also against GS, on 4/16/08 while Anthony had 41 against SEA on 3/30/04. HIGHS ALL AROUND: The Mavericks set the following season-highs at GS (3/27): 16 3FGM, 30 3FGM, 48 DR, 15 steals. Dallas improved to 9-1 when hitting pointers and 16-2 when coming away with 10+ steals. Shawn Marion led the Mavs with a season-high 5 steals while Eduardo Najera matched his career-high with 3 3-pointers en route to 9 points and a season-high 9 rebounds. STEPPING ON UP D: Dallas has held their last 3 opponents to 22.7 points on 32.3% (21-65 FGs, FGs) shooting from the field in the 4 th quarter. The effort has been significantly better down the stretch than it was in the previous 4 games (3/13-22) when Dallas allowed the opposition to score 33.3 points on 64.6% FG (51-79 FGs), 54.5% 3FG ( FGs) and 82.6% FT (19-23 FTs) in the final period. WILL TO WIN: Down vs. LAC (3/23) entering the 4 th quarter, Jason Kidd (on his 37 th birthday) took a Nowitzki-less Mavericks team on his back to propel Dallas to win #47. Kidd scored 13 (5-8 FGs, 3-3 3FGs) of his season-high 26 points to go with 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal. Kidd recorded his 23 rd double-double in the win (6 rebounds, 12 assists) as his 10 FGs and 6 3FGs marked season highs. The 26 points are the most scored by Kidd on his birthday (was CLE, 2003). The effort was Kidd s 3 rd with 25 points since rejoining Dallas in 2/08. He scored 27 points in 2 games to in ,500 3s!: Jason Terry s made 5 3-pointers at NO (3/22) to pass the 1,500 3FGM mark for his career. Only 13 men who coached at least 500 NBA games have a winning percentage as high as Carlisle's, but until the win vs. NJ (3/10), he was the only one of them without a winning streak of at least 13 games on his resume. Among that group of coaches, Carlisle, Tom Heinsohn, Chuck Daly and Gregg Popovich remain the only ones without a winning streak of more than 13 games.

5 THE BUTLER DID IT: For the 2 nd time since joining the Mavericks at All-Star Break, Caron Butler led the team in scoring at POR (3/25). He recorded a game-high 25 points (11-19 FGs, 1-4 3FGs, 2-3 FTs) with 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in 36 minutes. RODDY, PROUD AND LOUD: Roddy Beaubois has put together a career stretch between vs. MIN (3/3) and at GS (3/27). After scoring a career-high tying 17 points at MIN (3/3), Beaubois became the 1 st Maverick rookie since to score 20 points in a came with 22 vs. SAC (3/5). Previously, Maurice Ager scored 20 at GS (4/17/07). Beaubois followed that with a career-high 24 points (10-17 FGs, 1-6 3FGs, 3-3 FTs) in a career-high 35 minutes at CHI (3/6). To top it off, he scored 40 points (26 in 1 st half) at GS (3/27) and set several personal bests along the way. MARQUEE NIGHT: Jason Kidd earned his 104 th career triple-double with 19 points (7-18 FGs, FGs, 1-2 FTs), season-high 16 rebounds, season-high tying 17 assists and 2 steals in 46 minutes at ATL (2/26). Kidd is the first NBA player to record 15, 15 and 15 in the same game since he did so with 21 points, 16 rebounds and 16 assists (with DAL) on 1/30/96. He is only the 4 th player to have 19, 15, 15 since the season (Kidd twice, Magic Johnson twice, Fat Lever once, Larry Bird once). In fact, in league history, Kidd is 1 of 4 players to reach those levels (19, 16, 17) in an NBA game (Oscar Robertson and Wilt Chamberlin twice, Guy Rodgers and Johnson once). Kidd is 1 of 11 players in the NBA to record a triple-double this season. CLE s James leads the league with 3 and is the only player with multiple. Haywood and Erick Dampier (20 vs. HOU, 11/10) are the first Mavericks teammates to have 20-rebound games in the same season since Shawn Bradley and Samaki Walker ( season). Haywood returned to the starting lineup vs. NJ (3/10) after missing 2 games (lower back tightness) and recorded his 18 th double-double (4 th w/ DAL) with 11 points and 10 boards in 24 minutes.
