Frozen Four Over the last 18 seasons, Hockey East has boasted 26 of the 72 Frozen Four qualifiers, the most of any conference. Hockey East was represented by at least one team in the NCAA championship game in each of eight straight years from 1997 to That is the most consecutive appearances in the title game by any conference since the inception of Hockey East in Hockey East has boasted 19 of the 40 teams that have advanced to the championship game since On two occasions, 1995 and 1999, the NCAA championship game featured two Hockey East squads. The only two other occurrences of this since the inception of Hockey East in were once each by the WCHA (in 2005) and ECAC (in 2013).
