2 MSU Extension Staff On behalf of the Ingham County MSU Extension 4-H Youth Development staff, I would like to send an enormous thank you to all the adult volunteer leaders, parents, and youth who contributed countless hours and energy to the Ingham County 4-H Youth Program. A special thank you goes to all that helped make the awards program possible those making nominations, 4-H Council, awards committee, banquet committee, and all the volunteers who helped type and prepare the display boards. With your ongoing support, dedication and enthusiasm, we can continue to make a difference throughout Ingham County! 6 Outstanding Teen Leader Award The outstanding teen leader award was created to recognize teens who have contributed through their club or county-wide project areas. To receive a county medal, the youth must complete a minimum of 2-3 years of work in a specific project area and demonstrate the skills that they have learned through an application. The county medal application is a great way for 4-H members to prepare for the state awards program. 11 Friend of 4-H The Friend of 4-H Award recognizes a person or business that may not be a part of a 4-H club or committee but has made significant contributions to some aspect of the 4-H program in Ingham County. This year s winner is: Tracy Ostrander In recognition of the dedication and devotion shown to the principles and ideas of 4-H, Tracy Ostrander has been named as the 2016 Friend of 4-H. The children of Ingham County 4-H are extremely fortunate to have the generous support of Tracy and the David Chapman Agency: A sponsorship that assures the continuation of programs that promote the learning and growth of Ingham County children for the betterment of their professional and personal lives.

12 Leader of the Year Award The Leader of the Year Award recognizes a 4-H Club leader that has made significant contributions to the 4-H program and their club. This year s winner is: Penny Jezuit, Town N Country 4-H Club As the inspiration behind Town N Country, Penny has brought together friends, new and old, creating a dynamic environment of support and learning. Celebrating her 10th year as Club Leader, Penny is also Rabbit Superintendent and President of 4-H Council. Penny has taught our 4-H young people how to develop good character through encouragement, discipline and hard work. She is a true role model for children; leading by example and always giving 100%.
