5 Outstanding Teen Leader Award The outstanding teen leader award was created to recognize teens who have contributed through their club or county-wide project areas. Jordan Kolk Ingham County Equestrians Amanda Wixson Lopin Lariats Others Nominated: Anna Rue Kelsey Daniels Chloe Ketchum-Every Taylor Saltman Town N Country Fit to Show Kids & Critters Northwest Leslie American Youth Foundation's National Leadership Award The award recognizes youth ages years old that strive to be their personal best and make a positive difference in their schools, youth groups, 4-H clubs, and communities. Nominees must have completed their freshman year in high school and show outstanding qualities in servant leadership. Carley will be receiving a copy of the book I Dare You! by William H. Danforth. 6 Head & Heart The Head and Heart Award is granted to 4-H members 15 and older that have completed 3 or more year of 4-H in at least two project areas. Members must actively participate in county level and teen leadership events. The following member is being recognized this year: Cheyanne Davis Fit to Show 2016 County Medal Recipients County medals are a way for youth of the county to receive recognition for the work that they put forth in their clubs and in the county 4-H program. To receive a county medal, the youth must complete a minimum of 2-3 years of work in a specific project area and demonstrate the skills that they have learned through an application. The county medal application is a great way for 4-H members to prepare for the state awards program. 10 Friend of 4-H The Friend of 4-H Award recognizes a person or business that may not be a part of a 4-H club or committee but has made significant contributions to some aspect of the 4-H program in Ingham County. This year s winner is: The UPS Store In recognition of the dedication and devotion shown to the principles and ideas of 4-H, The UPS Store/Jim & Belinda Gould have been named as the 2016 Friend of 4-H. The UPS Store has supported the Fit to Show 4-H Club and others by printing banners, printed picture boards, design of flyers, and hundreds of copies. What make this business so very special is that they will donate the supplies and employee time to make sure we have what we need. As if this wasn t enough, they provide this at no cost to the 4-H program. The UPS Store (Jim & Belinda Gould) are truly Friends of 4-H!

11 Leader of the Year Award The Leader of the Year Award recognizes a 4-H Club leader that has made significant contributions to the 4-H program and their club. This year s nominees are: Becky Callender has been a craft leader for Red Cedar Kids for the last three years. She recently became a rabbit co-leader and hosts many meeting each year. She planned a community service project this year and hosted many club member, teaching them to quilt. More than a dozen quilts were given to the CS Mott Children s Hospital because of her effort and the efforts of the members. Her craft ideas are fun and unique. Becky is a very positive role model for our youth and families alike. The is always willing to support our member no matter how much time it takes.
