The Cooperative Extension Service is one of the nation s largest providers of scientific research-based information and education. It s a network of colleges, universities, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, serving communities and counties across America. The Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service program areas are: Agriculture and Natural Resources, Health and Human Sciences, Economic and Community Development, 4-H Youth Development. Purdue Extension is a service tailored to meet the needs of Indiana, needs we know firsthand. Our educators, specialists, and volunteers live and work in all 92 Indiana counties. We provide the link between Land Grant research and Indiana citizens. In doing that we provide practical solutions to local issues. We provide information and expertise that s available in the form you want, when you want it. Silent Auction Items will be on display in the 4-H Building July 17th until July 22nd. Bidding closes at 7:30 p.m. on July 22nd. Results will be determined by 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 22nd. The Entertainment Committee uses the proceeds for Entertainment at the 4-H Fair. It is a volunteer-led organization that reaches youth through a variety of programs in both rural and urban settings. 4-H provides fun, and educational opportunities at the local, state, national, and international levels. 4-H programs are hands-on, appropriate, and university-based. 4-H helps youth improve their self-confidence; learn subject matter, and develop important skills including leadership, citizenship, communication, and decision making that can be applied over a lifetime. For older teens, 4-H also offers opportunities to develop and test their leadership skills as 4-H volunteers and working with youth. For adults, 4-H offers opportunities in a variety of areas including youth development, instruction, and more. I pledge my HEAD to clearer thinking My HEART to greater loyalty, My HANDS to larger service, and My HEALTH to better living, For my club, my community, my country and my world. Thank you to all the volunteers. Thousands of volunteer hours goes into the 4-H program from the 4-H Club Leaders, 4-H Council, 4-H Fairboard, project superintendents and committee members. With the help of all these volunteers Blackford County has a quality 4-H program. Also, thank you to all the Booster Club Donors who support the Blackford County 4-H program. Because of your donations, we are able to offer awards and recognition to our 4-H ers, and we are able to keep the 4-H grounds operating and offer events and activities at the 4-H fair.
