January was actually a very busy month. The new board has met and we are gearing up for the year. Committee s have been assigned so review this Snubbin Post for your 2017 Committee Chairperson s and watch for the blast and calendar for upcoming events and Committee meetings. Folks this year you will want to attend the General Membership meetings. We are going to look at scheduling individual s to attend and discuss a number of different topics that I believe you will find very interesting. For example at the February meeting Amanda Eggleston and Bobbi Smith will do a short 15 minute discussion and brochures on Laser therapy etc for our Horse s, pets and of course our sore bodies. In March we are looking at having a guest who will have a pack horse display and information. Additionally giving thought to having one of our members discuss care of your horses hooves/feet. If you have additional ideas for our General membership meetings and for our Committee s please get with one of our Board members. Your thoughts, ideas as always are extremely important to us and the management of all club activities. All of our activities are a vital part of this club and we honestly cannot be as successful as we have been without your support which is truly appreciated. 7 Education Let's get ready to have a fabulous summer of clinics at KCRC. This is Jeanne Burdett & I am your 2017 chair of the education committee. I have some dates already set for a great trainer & horsewomen, Inez Throm. She lives on the Western Slope & some of you may know her from competing in ExCA. She has agreed to do some clinics at KCRC this spring. We have set the dates for her to come over on April 7, 8 & 9th & on May 5, 6, & 7th. She charges $50 per day & you don't need to attend all three days. She will do everything from basic horsemanship to advanced riding depending on the interest & level of the participants. The clinic will run from 9-12 & 1-4 with an hour for lunch. She has also agreed to do 1 or 2 person private lessons from 4-5. I still have to get a price from her for the private lesson if there is interest. I am also considering a clinic with Heath Marshall sometime in the summer depending on his schedule. Other suggestions have been a concealed carry clinic; a working cow clinic & a mounted shooting clinic. These are just some of the ideas we have so please let me know if there is any interest in any of these clinics & I will see about getting dates on the summer calendar. Parades Happy New Year to everyone! I'm really looking forward to this years parade line up! It's going to be a blast! Our first parade of the year is the St. Patrick's Day Parade.

9 Parades Happy New Year to everyone! I'm really looking forward to this years parade line up! It's going to be a blast! Our first parade of the year is the St. Patrick's Day Parade. It is March 11, If you are planning on going to this parade please let me know. I would like to get an idea on how many will be attending so I may fill out our entry with the number of riders. This Parade will be downtown on Tejon st. It's always a lot of fun to see everyone come out to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. We will be having breakfast burrito's this year if enough riders come and join us. So it will be more of a brunch as the parade starts at noon. We have to be lined up at 11:30-11:45. We will be meeting at the club house at 9:30 to pick up kits and chaps. And leaving with the caravan at 9:45. That should give us plenty of time to get ready and have a bite to eat and some coffee or juice. Hoping for nice weather! The Freedom Riders Meet our Rider - Tara Polson Tara Polson grew up in Colorado Springs, CO and currently lives on her horse ranch in Hudson, CO! Tara grew up riding and training horses.

Before college, Tara s biggest accomplishment was winning English Champion at Colorado State Fair on a horse she trained herself and also being President of the Pikes Peak Rangerettes where she led

She also participated in Paint and Open horse shows, the Pikes Peak Rangerettes drill team and numerous polo games. Before college, Tara s biggest accomplishment was winning English Champion at Colorado State Fair on a horse she trained herself and also being President of the Pikes Peak Rangerettes where she led the drill. Tara attended Colorado State University where she earned a Bachelors degree in Equine Science and a minor in Agriculture Business. Tara s CSU polo team won Regionals 3 times and they were even 2nd in the Nation for two of those years. After college Tara took 7 years off from playing polo as she was busy training young horses for team roping, jumping and showing. She started playing polo again 4 years ago and has since traveled to Great Meadow Polo Club in Virginia and has also taken an International Polo Trip to play in a tournament in Jamaica in 2015! Tara is a Reporting Analyst at Bright Horizons in Broomfield, CO and she is also on the Miss Rodeo Colorado Executive Committee. Tara got married on horseback in September of 2014! She enjoys playing polo on the gorgeous fields at Denver Polo Club, riding and training horses, giving riding lessons, surfing, snowboarding and spending time with family, friends, and her 7 athletic horses and 2 amazing dogs! Tara joined The Freedom Riders in 2014 and is looking forward to her 1st Presidential Inaugural parade with her horse, Marty, who won the Colorado State Fair and led the Pikes Peak Rangerettes! Tara and Marty have been a team for 24 years!
