1 CELEBRATING 18 YEARS OF SINGLES GOLF IN AMERICA Denver Chapter - American Singles Golf Association June 2011 Message from the Prez Here we are on another gray and rainy day in May but the forecast looks good for the weekend so keep your clubs handy. We were blessed with good weather for Arrowhead and the Rockies game, which were both beautifully sandwiched between two days of bad weather, and it s looking like we might luck out again for Saddleback. Our chapter continues to thrive with new memberships and renewals coming in at a steady pace. Our 9 & Dines are a huge success. The next one on June 10 th at Broken Tee is opening up for RSVPs and payments this week on our meet-up site ( We are getting a reputation in the community a GOOD one! As we grow and establish ourselves in Denver, groups are starting to take notice and we re being contacted by different golf courses, businesses, and organizations to take part in their activities. The latest is the marketing director of Golfsmith. They ll be sponsoring us going forward and they re kicking things off with a party at the Park Meadows location on June 16 th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. This is an opportunity for us to spend our $10.00 gift certificates, have a swing evaluation, win prizes and enjoy food and drinks. This is all FREE so please bring guests. ASGA membership information will be available. Thanks to everyone for helping our chapter succeed. If you would like to renew your dues (which amount to a mere 19 cents a day!), just call the national headquarters at GOLFMATE from 9-5 (eastern time) and renew using a credit card OR You can also do it online at The rest of us want to see you out and about this summer!!!" ~Kathleen Alexander, Membership Chair Upcoming Events Our ASGA Denver Chapter has eight members attending the ASGA National event at Pinehurst Country Club in North Carolina. What a way to spent a Memorial Day week-end. Denver Chapter Nine and Dine at Broken Tee golf course on Friday June 10, 2011 starting at 5:00 PM. There are 40 tee times available, we have 17 golfers registered as of May 24, Golfsmith at Park Meadows has invited our Denver Chapter members to a Free private event on Thursday June 16, 2011, starting at 6:00PM. This event is only for ASGA Members. The event includes; memorable, club fitting, interactive shopping night, complete with lots of giveaways, skills clinics, fun contests and food and drinks. We have 23 single members register to date. Next summer golf outing is at Raccoon Creek Golf Course on Saturday June 25, 2011 starting at 1:00PM. The weather and golf were great based on the very positive feedback from a large number of the members attending the event. Our Denver Chapter had its second 18 hole golf event at Saddleback Golf Club on Saturday 21 May, The initial number of tee times reserved with the course was 40, we had 55 golfers finally registered. Our closest to pin contest was won for the women by Mary Scott and for men by Darison Orung. The Saddleback golf club supported ASGA Denver Chapter s week-end recruiting efforts at Denver, Colorado s annual Golf Expo in February Saddleback provided a free round of golf for each new member that signed up at the expo.
