3 Welcome to our 11th Annual Bull Sale. It seems like only yesterday that we held our first sale. Every year we seem to say that this is our best set yet. We can say that again without any reservations. We breed to some of the top genetics in the cattle business to bring to you. We feel these bulls can go out and work in diverse geographic areas. These bulls have strong maternal traits and performance is also a priority as well as phenotype and soundness. This is a diverse offering of bulls from calving ease to high performance. We have years of cow families and genetics to back these bulls. The cattle industry is back to having a positive outlook. These bulls will take you to the next level. The dam to this bull, OHL Angel has been mated to several different sires of several different breeds and has 91 lbs. 720 lbs. rung the bell with all of them. OHL Angel is the dam to Revelation, Check Book, Corner Stone, and Next To Heaven all of which are full brothers. Whole hearted honesty and without any reservations, this one may be the best one yet. He is so big footed, deep ribbed, long bodied, and can move like a cat. Plus he is loaded with performance. His dam was a first calver that will no doubt make her way to the donor pen this year. She was Supreme Champion Female in the jr show at the 2016 Nebraska State Fair. This bull had an actual weaning weight 88 lbs. 869 lbs. of 820 lbs. on October 4th and an adjusted 205-day weight of 869 lbs. We cannot ask for much more than that out of a first calf heifer. We did get more though, this bull is not just all performance, he comes with lots of look and quality to make him the real deal. We wish they could all be made like this guy. He is long bodied and on the move his structure is flawless. Big footed, deep sided, smooth jointed, smooth shouldered and long muscled. Some people say he would be great on simmy cows, others say wow what he couldn t do on a set of angus females. In all honesty, good cattle are good cattle and will work any where on any breed. Storm Warning is one we put in that really good cattle category. Purebred breeders, commercial cattlemen, or if you want to have a little fun and put him in a show ring, you can decide. His dam is another young female that will make her way to the donor pen this year. If you could draw a picture of an udder that you like to best see in your herd, hers would look like that. This bull is long necked, 80 lbs. 767 lbs. great shouldered and still powerful from behind. He is deep ribbed and easy fleshing. He has a 205-adjusted weaning weight of 767 lbs. His actual weaning weight on October 4th was 676 lbs. Not bad for a first calver born a little later in March. The Brilliance sired cattle make great females. This dude came right off of the cow weighing 763 lbs. and has not stopped yet. It is going to be fun to run him across the scale at sale time. This 94 lbs. 727 lbs. bull is as maternally bred as they can get. Steel Force, Freedom, Saugahatchee, Woodhill Supreme, and TC Stockman. Maternal and performance in a complete package. This guy is big footed, sound structured, big middled, and easy fleshing with a big top and quarter. Smooth made and good looking. He is one you will want to see. page 7

Their dam is an Irish Whiskey x Lutton that is PHA free. She does a phenomenal job producing bulls and heifers alike. This past fall we had two heifers out of her that were sired by Steel Force and Made 2 Order that topped our November sale. These Broker bulls have been amazing from the get go. Lot 5 had an actual weaning weight of 724 lbs and lot 6 weaned right off of the cow at 823 lbs. Some of that difference may have been that the recip cow of lot 6 would have had the advantage. Either way they both did well and keep on keepin on. Lot 5 has a bigger, more powerful hip and a little more shape over his top. Lot 6 would have a long, smooth muscle pattern and is a little longer sided and super deep sided. Both of these bulls would make a great set of females for cows and they would be sure to add those extra pounds going across the scale. We had three full sisters this fall that were impeccable. This bull takes no back seat to them. He carries a big stout hip and is extremely long bodied. Has a huge top and is extremely wide across his loin. Super smooth shouldered and as free as they come out on the move. The Harley cow is deceased now. Every year we still breed a few cows to our Chiangus bull, Hot Rod, hoping to get females. These two are twin brothers and it has been fun to watch them grow and develop. The dam to these bulls was one we hand picked from Krebs Angus. Lot 9 stayed on his mother and the other was drafted onto another cow. Lot 9 has the advantage of individual performance. He had an actual weaning weight right off of the cow at 718 lbs and an adjusted weaning weight of 770 pounds. Not wanting to take anything away from lot 10, the cow we drafted him to was a below marginal milker. Phenotypically these bulls are very similar with a stout hip, easy fleshing, sound structured, smooth jointed, and packed full of meat from end to end. Lot 9 shows more performance now and is bigger but they should breed very similar. You be the judge. One thing is forsure, these Chiangus cattle will add extra pounds across the scale which means more dollars in your pocket. He has been one of our favorites. This bull could and should have went along to Denver with us. The Maternal Made X Open Bar combination has worked really well for us. First in pedigree. His dam is sired by Duffs New Edition that we purchased 88 lbs. 759 lbs. from Kelvin Jorgensen as a calf. Every bull that she has had has been in our bull sale. His sire, Bottoms Up is an Upgrade son that come from Thomas Ranch in South Dakota. The cattle are packed full of performance. He had an actual weaning weight of 710 lbs right off of the cow and was born the end of March. Our advice is keep the females and reap the benefits of the steer calves going across the scale. What you see is what you get with no fluff and puff. You do get a lot of bull here and likewise there is lots of maternal behind this bull. If you want to raise some 92 lbs. 754 lbs. high yielding cattle, this boy will get er done being a half blood simmy and out of a straight Chiangus cow. We are anxious to put this one across the scale at sale time. This dude is one big footed, deep bodied, and stout made bull. This bull was 84 lbs. 771 lbs. her first calf. We think that Candy Heart has a bright future here at the OHL. This bulls sire, Boss Man, was a herd bull that we used to clean up heifers with. The only reason that we do not have more of them is that our Aiing went extremely well. This guy is very maternal bred with Gold Standard and Kodiak on the top side and Lut, Freedom and Saugahatchee on the bottom side of his pedigree. He comes together in a really cool looking, complete package. Well balanced, stout hipped, big topped, and still maintains a smooth shoulder. What a set of replacements he could make on any breed of cattle. The dam to this bull is probably our all time favorite cow. Not to mention probably one of our highest revenue producing females. She has had several 87 lbs. 592 lbs. bulls that have topped our sale and numerous females that have been our high sellers. Actually we were hoping this bull would have been a heifer to replace his mother that we lost this past year at age 15. The Styles bull has had a major impact in the cattle world in terms of producing great ones for females. This bull would be a win, win situation to do just that. Well balanced, deep sided, super smooth shouldered, and comes together with a perfect square hip. Cream Puff left us with one last good one. His actual weaning weight off of an old cow that is starting to lose a little steam was 676 lbs and then had an adjusted 205-day weight of 745 lbs. We have kept several daughters out of a son of this cow and they do a remarkable job. He has not backed off on the performance end and still maintains lots of eye appeal. This dude is stout made and soft bodied. We are excited to see what the future holds for our Whiskey Boy daughters when they produce them like this. Could just as well say the same thing about this bull and the next two bullls (Lots 21 and 22) so that we do not sound like a broken record. We hand 87 lbs. 732 lbs. picked a set of bred Angus females from Krebs Ranch at Gordon a couple of years ago and they have done a fantastic job for us. The one and only thing that we would change about these bulls is to make them a little older. These bulls are so deep bodied, good structured, easy fleshing, and maternally bred that we kept them as bulls. And we are happy that we did.
