2 Welcome FROM RAINBOW HILLS RANCH Welcome to the 13th annual Rainbow Hills Ranch production sale. It is a great pleasure to be involved in the Angus seed stock production. The last year has been a challenge for many of us in the cattle industry with drought in some areas and those who have been blessed with too much moisture, but as ranchers we always find a way to pull through the tough times and succeed. For those of you that are not familiar with our operation, we are a fourth generation ranch that has been producing Angus seed stock since We are a family focused operation with the cows being our bread and butter, with this said you will find that we have always taken the time to select the best genetics to provide our customers with traits favorable to beef production, growth, calving ease, fertility and structural conformation. Our cow herd is managed with not a lot of pampering. I believe that cows need to work for us and not us for them. Our calves never see creep feed and I feel that this gives us a better idea of the cow s value and productivity in our herd. We are proud of our sale offering this year you will find many new sire groups, our bull pen has a great amount of depth and will offer bulls to meet many different needs. Our selection of heifers this year is excellent you will find females that will be great additions to your cow herds and give you many years of value. 4 REFEREN SIRES KBJ HERD BUILDER 71C S Herd Builder is a calving ease specialist and has done a great job of that, he is a bull out of the famous Elmgrove Pride 5U cow that was a cornerstone at KBJ she was the high selling cow in the KBJ dispersal. You will find his calves to have a presence about them they are very eye appealing CUDLOBE DELUXE 112B Traveler is a bull we bought from Schaffs. He has left us with some amazing progeny, you will find that there are a lot of females that go back to this great bull. His daughters are doing a great job. They are moderate framed, feminine and full of growth. KBJ ELIMINATOR 216C Deluxe was our pick from the Cudlobe bull sale. He is a bull that is thick and powerful. He is a bull that we chose because of his structure and conformation as well as his exceptional growth. His calves are very strong and you will see that when you look at the calves on offer in this years sale. This bull was the high selling bull that we selected from the 2016 KBJ bull sale, he was selected for his length and his large hip, eye appeal and tremendous growth. A bull that offers new genetics to our past customers.

S A V RENOWN 3439 Pioneer is a calving ease bull with explosive growth, his daughters are outstanding he makes them fancy, angular and beautiful udders, His progeny are structurally sound with longevity for all environment. A bull that we chose to use as an AI sire for his ability to add performance in an eye appealing yet functional package, you will find his calves to be sound footed, correct cattle with plenty of growth. He has excellent feet and legs and moves out extremely well. He is a bull with exceptional phenotype with thickness, and a big rump with massive body volume. We are very happy with the job he is doing here at Rainbow Hills Ranch. His full brother Peak Dot Mountain Top 940X was the top selling bull at $44,500 in the 2011 Peak Dot spring bull sale. His dam Duchess of Peak Dot 556R is a donor cow at Peak Dot that needs no introduction. She is an above average producing kind of cow. CONNEALY THUNDER, GRANDSIRE SHOWN This Thunder bull is a son of the Six Mile Thunderstruck 162Y that we raised, he adds eye appeal, performance and calving ease to his calves. His dam Blackbird of Rainbow Hills is a rock solid producer that is a premier dam that always gets the job done.

Our calves are weaned in late October and fed a high roughage diet, you will find that our cattle are not carrying the flesh common to some purebred herds, these cattle will respond quickly to grass and will last longer for you. Our cattle are all vaccinated in June with 8-Way and Cattle Master 5, and then this is repeated again in October with an application of Ivermec. Our cows survive under normal conditions without a lot of pampering. TERMS & CONDITIONS BREEDING GUARANTEE Cattle will be sold under the terms and conditions of the Canadian Angus Association. Full settlement needs to be arranged before release and transfers. We stand behind our cattle and if you get a bull or a female that will not breed please let us know in a reasonable fashion and we will look after you. We will not be responsible for physical mismanagement, and not provide more than the original sale price. KEEP & FEED PROGRAM We will keep and feed your purchases until May 1st, 2018 at no cost as long as you insure your purchase. After May 1st 2018 there will be a $2.00 per day charge to the purchaser. TRUCKING & DELIVERY SIGHT UNSEEN PURCHASES We would like you to attend the sale, but if you are unable to Warren or any of the sales staff would be glad to assist you.
