You could win an all-expense paid trip to the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Georgia, beginning Thanksgiving evening through the following Tuesday afternoon. If you are a graduating senior, tis is an opportunity to win one of the New Mexico 4-H Foundation Scholarships (8 scholarships awarded annually). Your current updated portfolio, accompanied by the completed Foundation Scholarship Application Form, is the basis for the awards. The form and information about the scholarship are available from the State 4-H Website. Practice is open to all 4-H members enrolled in the Shooting Sports project. 13 2018 Guide for Livestock Exhibitors The requirements for showing Junior Livestock in New Mexico can be found on the New Mexico 4-H Website Or the New Mexico Livestock Board Website All show season inspections must be completed By July 15, 2018 Home Economics Letterman Any member who is active in Home Economics projects may letter in Home Economics. All that is necessary to letter is to complete the requirements in your age level and submit the required form to the Sandoval County Extension Office by September 1, The first year the member will receive a clover letter like you would see on a letterman jacket. If you are interested in applying, call Steve or Nicole. STATE FAIR YOUTH OFFICIALS Senior age 4-H members have the opportunity to serve as State Fair Youth Officials. Members can apply to come to the State Fair early and assist with 4-H Indoor Exhibits. Youth officials stay in the dorms and help take in county entries, organize exhibits, assist judges, and complete exhibit displays for the State Fair. The deadline to apply is August 1, 2018.

STATE 4-H CONFERENCE July 9 12, 2018 Las Cruces, NM 2018 State 4-H Conference is July The theme for this year s State 4-H Conference is Power of the Past Force of the Future. The featured speakers is Rhett Laubach, from Edmond, Oklahoma. He is a professional speaker, author, presentations coach, leadership expert, business owner and much more. A brain tumor survivor, Rhett has taught leadership skills for 20 years to over one million audience members in 48 states, the Bahamas and Canada. The ambassador and officer teams have prepared workshops and business sessions that will keep you ready and show you how you can grow in 4-H. Throughout the week a variety of workshops will be offered from different departments in the college as well as by the State 4-H Officers and Ambassadors. 18 Sandoval County Fair 2018 Camping & RV General Information For camping Information, Contact Brandon McSween or at 2018 Camping RV Pass $ All sites have electricity & water (1) Family Vehicle Pass included for the entire week July30th Aug. 5 All Self-contained campers with LQ horse trailers will be parked in the horse trailer camping area. Nightly Fee of $ No Family/Group Pass included. Week long $ Family pass included. Tent Camping is available in the designated tent camp area. -One day tent camping fee is $5.00. Gate fee is extra -All week tent camping fee is $50.00 includes one family pass. -NO HORSES ARE ALLOWED IN NORTH PARK CAMPING AREA RV Campers may be brought into the fair-grounds as early as Monday July 30th at noon. All campers must be removed by Sunday August 5 th. Reservations will be taken until all sites are full. Due to limited space and for consideration of all campers, the SOUTH campsites are limited to (2) vehicles per campsite. North campsites are limited to (3) vehicles which must be parked in your own designated camping area. Any additional vehicles are to be parked in the general parking areas. The Sandoval County Fair is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal property. Please remove all personal property when leaving the grounds. Quiet Hours: Be respectful to other campers by keeping noise to reasonable levels. Turn off music and refrain from loud activities or noise between 10:00PM and 6:00AM. Pets must be contained or on a leash. Pets are not to be left unattended or barking. Owners are responsible for cleaning up of pet waste. Public intoxication or drinking alcoholic beverages in public areas is prohibited Keep Sites Clean Keep your site clean of all litter and waste. Dispose of trash in dumpsters provided or remove when you leave. Do not dump waste fluids from campers on the ground. Please Use Dump Station Thank You!
19 SANDOVAL COUNTY 4-H SCHOLARSHIP Sponsored by Sandoval County 4-H Council Scholarship Information A Scholarship fund has been established by the 4-H County Council to provide financial assistance to 4-H members that wish to attend State, District, or County 4-H events. Scholarship will cover 50% of the registration expenses for Senior Leadership Retreat, Youth-Get-Away, Livestock School, Horse School, Home Ec School, 4-H Dog School, or $250 of the team fees for serving as a State 4-H Officer, Ambassador, or a Diplomat.
