4 WELCOME MESSAGE WELCOME FROM THE BENDIGO ELITE WHITE SUFFOLK & SUFFOLK SHOW & SALE - CHAIRMAN On behalf of the Committee of the Bendigo Elite White Suffolk & Suffolk Show & Sale I welcome all potential exhibitors and White Suffolk and Suffolk breeders to be part of this fifth Show & Sale. This event continues to provide access to some of the best genetics available within Australia and showcase the White Suffolk and Suffolk breeds in a great venue. The Bendigo Showgrounds is renowned for hosting National Sheep events. This event is designed to be exhibitor friendly with easy access, free parking and show admittance for the public and the commercial industry attending. Sheep can arrive from Thursday afternoon up until Friday but must be scanned prior to 6pm on the Friday evening. Saturday morning judging will commence at 8.30am with the ewes first followed by the ram classes and group classes. The Suffolks will follow with judging on Sunday morning. There will be a sponsored BBQ lunch on Sunday followed by the Junior Judging and Handling Competition. Schools will be involved but it is also open to any junior wanting to take part. Monday at 10am will see a quality line up of rams and ewes on offer in the sale. An event like this cannot function without tremendous support of sponsors and we thank them all for their support in particular Bromar Engineering whom have been great supporters of the show since its inception. This year, the committee is also happy to welcome a new sponsor, Rivalea, the producers of Slingshot Stock Feed. We are also very pleased to have media partners Stock & Land and The Land involved and promoting the Show & Sale. I would like to thank the Committee for their support. I would also like to make mention of the 4 new members. Shane Baker, Dean Cameron, Lachie McCrae and Ian Kyle have always assisted in the Bendigo Elite White Suffolk & Suffolk Show in previous years. However, this year I am pleased to welcome them to their new positions on the committee. I would also like to thank my family for their help and support. Volunteers are very important and I thank them for their support again this year.. In closing I look forward to your participation in this 5 th year of the Bendigo Elite White Suffolk & Suffolk Show & Sale. John Jamieson Chairman 4
