SCHEDULE 2018 Sunday 15 th July 2018 Closing date of entries: 7 th July 2018 (Show Jumping Entries on the day unless otherwise stated) General Rules and Regulations: 1. Intending exhibitors are requested to peruse the rules and regulations and be prepared to comply with these. 2. The Show Committee reserves the right to alter or cancel any class or competition at any time. 3. The Show Committee takes no responsibility for any accident or loss. 4. The Show Committee has the option of cancelling or amalgamating any class where less than three entries have been received. No prize money will be awarded to 2nd prize unless five compete, no 3rd prize awarded unless six compete and 4th prize only given where otherwise stated where a minimum of eight entries compete. This rule will be waived should the Judge consider there is special merit and record same in their book at time of Judging. 5. Prizes for certain classes may be given in the form of product/ voucher instead of cash. 6. Objections must be lodged with the secretary before 6.00 on the evening of the show, and must be accompanied by a deposit of 50 which will be forfeited if the objection is not upheld. 7. Exhibitors are to understand that although every reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure the safety and welfare of the animals, the Show Committee will not be responsible for loss or accidents, of any kind that may occur, neither will the society be accountable for any accident that may occur to any person attending the show, whether as a visitor, exhibitor or otherwise.

The Show Committee shall not in any way be liable for any claim for compensation or otherwise arising out of the holding, abandonment or postponement of the show, nor for any claim arising out of or connected with the show. 9. The decision of the Judges will be final. 10.Anyone found interfering with any exhibit or disarranging any display will be asked to leave the show grounds. 11. For the convenience of exhibitors, the Show Committee has arranged that a veterinary surgeon will be on call at short notice to attend to sick or injured animals but fees for his/her services will be payable by the owners concerned. 12.Winners of cups in 2018 must give an undertaking to Newcastle West Show Committee that the Cups will be returned to the secretary at least 10 days previous to the date of the succeeding show, and in as good condition as they were received. 13.The Show Committee reserve the right to alter conditions of competition for the cups in future shows, or to withhold the cups if the Judges do not find sufficient merit in the competition. 14.By entering to compete at this show, you are agreeing to be by bound by the above rules & regulations. Milking Machine Provided Department of Agriculture Showing Guidelines Apply The Irish Shows Association advise that animal owners extend their insurance to cover them while showing. 3 SHEEP CLASSES All entries 5 per sheep. Prizes: 1st 30, 2nd 20, 3rd 10, unless otherwise noted. (N.B. 5% of prize money will be deducted in accordance with the I.S.A.) Prizes may be in the form of product/voucher instead of cash. All sheep to be tagged with official sheep tags. Please note that if the Show Committee determines there are insufficient entries for a class, it is at the discretion of the Committee to either cancel the class or amalgamate it with another of its choosing. All Sheep to be penned by 11:30 a.m. Judging commences at 12 noon sharp SUFFOLK Class 1 Ram Shearling and upwards Class 2 Ram Lamb (born on or after 1 January 2018) Class 3 Ewe Shearling and upwards Class 4 Ewe Lamb (born on or after 1 January 2018) TEXEL Class 5 Ram Shearling and upwards Class 6 Ram Lamb (born on or after 1 January 2018) Class 7 Ewe Shearling and upwards Class 8 Ewe Lamb (born on or after 1 January 2018) COMMERCIALS Class 9 Single Lamb any breed, suitable for Butchers Trade (non-pedigree). Minimum live weight 46kgs. Maximum live weight 52kgs. Class 10 Single Lamb any breed, suitable for Factory Trade (non-pedigree). Maximum live weight 45kgs Class 11 Single Crossbred Ewe Shearling and upwards, suitable for breeding. Class 12 Single Crossbred Ewe Lamb, suitable for breeding.

4 Any Other Breed Class 13 Any other Breed sheep not listed above and not entered in any of the above classes. Ram or Ewe, Any Age. (Class may be divided if sufficient entries). Class 14- Interbreed Pedigree Ram This class is open to all breeds. Rams must be born in 2017 or before. No entry fee. Rosettes ONLY to 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd. Class 15- Interbreed Pedigree Ewe This class is open to all breeds. Ewe must be born in 2017 or before. No entry fee. Rosettes ONLY to 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd. Supreme Champion and Reserve Champion Sheep of the Show (All breed champions) All Champions from each section will compete. Class 16 Child Handling Class (Under 16) Entry 3. Rosettes to all exhibitors. Entry on the day. GOAT CLASSES All entries 5. Prizes: 1st 15, 2nd 10, 3rd 5, unless otherwise noted. All goats to be tagged with official goat tags. Class 1 Milker Class 2 Goatling Class 3 Kid (Male or Female) Class 4 Male any age over 1 year. Entry Fee: 3. Prizes: Rosettes only Class 5 Best Female Dry Goat. Any Age. Entry: 3.
