1 20/07/ The international water sports exhibition showcases innovations and industry trends from 22 to 30 September - Diverse sideline program allows visitors to discover the exciting world of water sports - Some 150 test and show boats moored and ready to go at the INTERBOOT Harbor. INTERBOOT sets a new course with a full program of events Friedrichshafen, Germany - It's anchors away for the 51st INTERBOOT, where Messe Friedrichshafen will present industry innovations and a comprehensive sideline program. From Saturday, September 22 to Sunday, September 30,, visitors can discover the exciting world of water sports in seven halls, on the exhibition grounds and on Lake Constance. Some 500 exhibitors have already registered to come aboard, including the worldwide market leaders in the sailboat and powerboat sector. Trade show organizers are placing particular emphasis on the young generation of future water sports enthusiasts, trendy sports activities like wakeboarding, and the continuing education of professionals for professionals. Furthermore, the team under the direction of project manager Dirk Kreidenweiss offers a diverse program and plenty of opportunities to test the boats on the water. New additions this year include the e-boat forum, which focuses on the suitability for daily use of electric powered boats, and an evening performance by up comedian Uli Boettcher. 1/7

2 INTERBOOT is taking new directions this year and focusing the exhibition on the seven halls of the A axis. This new exhibition arrangement comes in response to exhibitors' demands and current market developments: "We are a stable reflection of the industry. The diversity of offers is as strong as in previous years. The amount of space sold remains the same. Only the diving section, which we maintained for many years, has been dropped," says project manager Dirk Kreidenweiss. Instead of dry information, the attractions on the trade show lake and on Lake Constance continue to serve as a springboard into the water sports experience. At Germany's oldest in-water show, some 150 exhibitor test and show boats are moored and ready to go at the INTERBOOT Harbor. With everything from luxury yachts, sporty powerboats, elegant sailboats and entry-level models for beginners, the industry has a wide range of innovations that will be presented for the first time at INTERBOOT. A newcomer to the market, the Swiss company Topar is unveiling a worldwide innovation, the sailing yacht Saphire at the international water sports exhibition in Friedrichshafen. "In the area of drive technologies, the innovative strength of manufacturers and the practicality of their products will be revealed at our new e-boat forum," says project manager Kreidenweiss. Inspiring the next generation of water sports enthusiasts INTERBOOT also emphasizes fun sports, and trade show organizers have set their sights on the next generation of water sports enthusiasts. "As the organizers, we feel that we have a responsibility to the industry, so we set out to inspire the next generation with events such as the youth camp and 2/7

3 attractions on the trade show lake and Lake Constance," explains Kreidenweiss. Children will have a wealth of opportunities to enjoy water sports at INTERBOOT. On the exhibition lake, boats will be available for attendees to try their hand at sailing. On the first weekend of the exhibition, future captains from eight to 12 years of age can take a free training course for the Class A license offered by the German Motor Yacht Association (DMYV). For those who enjoy higher speeds, the association will be offering a free trial course in a GT30-class speedboat for young people 14 years of age and older on Lake Constance on both weekends of the exhibition. The German automotive club ADAC will also be offering the Formula ADAC Powerboat School for young motorboat enthusiasts on Lake Constance on the first Saturday of the exhibition. The wakeboarding system by Sesitec will again be set up on the trade show lake throughout the entire duration of the exhibition. Two shows a day will be staged there. From 4:30 p.m., boarding for everyone will be available under professional guidance - and free of charge for all INTERBOOT visitors. This is complemented by equipment and wakeboarding boats in Hall A7. Anyone with a sense of balance and stamina can try their hand at stand-up paddling on the trade show lake in front of Rothaus Hall/A1. A special show highlights this sports discipline. Lake Constance as a testing area For extensive test rides before purchasing a boat, many exhibitors have moored some 100 different vessels in the INTERBOOT Harbor. The Württemberg Yacht Club also intends to make the water sports experience available to everyone: During the INTERBOOT weekends, all interested 3/7

4 individuals can go test sailing under professional supervision and free of charge. What's more, anyone who would like to while away the evening hours in a maritime atmosphere has come to the right place at the INTERBOOT Harbor. After the trade show closes its doors for the day, you can kick back and relax with a sundowner during happy hour. The meeting place for fun sports fans Hall A7 is a meeting place for surfers, kiters, waterskiers, wakeboarders and stand-up paddlers. Here's where they'll find equipment, accessories and clothing along with waterskiing and wakeboarding boats. At the "Aloha Pirates Relentless Bar" fun sports fans can talk about the latest trends, tips and tricks. Wakeboarding competition Excitement is guaranteed at the CA$H FOR TRICKS wakeboard contest on September 29, starting at 4 p.m. on the trade show lake. Eight top wakeboarders will rise to the challenge, including Nico von Lerchenfeld, winner of the O'Neill Wake the Line 2011 wakeboarding world championship. Cash can be won with each run. The amount awarded will be decided by presenter Clint Liddy and the audience. The wakeboarders will receive total cash prizes amounting to 2,500 euros. Offers by professionals for professionals at the INTERBOOT Academy. For future circumnavigators, cruising and high-sea sailors, dreamers and real sea dogs, INTERBOOT once again offers a blue water seminar this year led by around-the-world sailor Bobby Schenk. For the first time, this additional offer for a fee will feature a match race experience day. The sailing will be 4/7

5 done on original Match Race yachts, where hands-on practice makes the difference, and this knowledge is conveyed during training regattas. In addition, an ISAF-certified sea survival course is offered for blue water sailors. Participants will learn how to use flare pistols and life rafts, and how to extinguish onboard fires. Maritime travel and charter market Anyone who is feeling the urge to set sail for distant destinations has come to the right place at the maritime travel and charter market, where representatives from travel companies, countries and regions will tell them the first time in the Rothaus hall/a1 about the most beautiful travel destinations for water sports enthusiasts. The charter forum provides competent and impartial advice on which area meets which demands, and supports individual planning. Anyone who would like to take a break from their tour of the trade fair or top off their day at the exhibition in a pleasant atmosphere with nibbles, cocktails or a glass of wine has also come to the right place here. Furthermore, purveyors of high-quality jewelry, fashion, accessories and wines entice visitors to linger. Harbor program for sailing aficionados and speed fans Fans of high-speed powerboats can enjoy a special event on the Friedrichshafen shore promenade: Every day between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m. (except Wednesday and the second trade show Sunday), fast boats demonstrate their raw power at the Liquid Quarter Mile. Participants compete in different classes. The pace is more relaxed, however, at the Vintage Regatta on the first trade show Saturday. 6 also includes the INTERBOOT Trophy, the MS 11 Lake Constance Cup and powerboat training for women. The meeting place for nautical Switzerland At a joint stand in Hall A4, exhibitors from the strongest foreign country of the water sports exhibition present the entire gamut of Swiss precision and design. There is a tradition that on the INTERBOOT Thursday, September 27, all Swiss women are given free admission to the trade show. Demonstration of boat building craftsmanship The Association of Lake Constance Shipbuilders is exhibiting at a large joint stand in Hall A3, where visitors can talk shop with boat building experts. In addition to completely finished yachts, boat builders at the stand will show how it's possible to replace the planking on a small wooden sailboat. Evening performance by comedian Uli Boettcher New is a performance by comedian Uli Boettcher. In connection with INTERBOOT, he will present his program "Over 40 - the party is over" on Tuesday, September 25 in Foyer West. The show will begin at 8 p.m., with advanced sales of tickets for 16 euros, and 19 euros at the box office on the evening of the show.
