3 DEAR MEDIA GUEST Welcome to a spectacular sports event Ski Flying World Cup in Vikersund and the superfinal of the Raw Air Tournament. The first superfinal of the Raw Air Tournament in Vikersund was a great success. Now we are excited to welcome you to the second edition. We hope that our efforts with the facilities will give members of the media great opportunities for both work and relaxation. We want to make your days in Vikersund a success. 6 Accreditation Media Accreditation Offices and pick up The Media accreditation offices and pick up is located at the club house of Vikersund Sports Club in Vikersund. Adress: Idrettsveien Vikersund Directions: From Drammen and Hønefoss, follow rv35 to Vikersund S. Follow rv285 over the bridge and then first exit to the left. GPS: N E When picking up your accreditation card, please bring an ID. Opening hours accreditaion office: Tuesday 13/ Wednesday 14/ Thursday 15/ Friday 16/ Saturday 17/ Sunday 18/ Media Accreditation Access The numbers on the accreditation card verifies the access privileges of the card holder. The access might be controlled when a person wants to enter an area. 6

7 Transportation Media Shuttle Service We provide a free media shuttle service between the hotels in Drammen and the venue in Vikersund. If you want to use this service, please make your booking before March 7th, by sending an to Assistant Chief of Press Margaret Krogstad on marga kr@ online.no. Parking There are a limited number of parking spaces dedicated to the media. These will be allocated based on applications received. To apply, send an to Assistant Chief of Press Margaret Hovland Krogstad on marga kr@online.no before March 7th. Parking permits will be handed out along with the accreditation. The Media Parking is located close to the MMC, see P E at the Media Map page 5. 7

8 Media Service Photo: Trond Lindseth 8 Main Media Centre MMC The main media centre is located at Sparebank 1 Hallen (6 at the media map, see page 5). The MMC contains working space for journalists and photographers, a help desk, results service, newspapers, refreshments and service minded staff. Wireless Internet will be freely available in the MMC, the IBC and the VPC. Opening hours for the MMC: Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Media Cafeteria The Media Cafeteria is located at the MMC. Hot and cold meals will be available from Friday Sunday, and you can buy the meal pass at the Information Desk. We accept Visa and Cash. Meal passes are available at the following prizes: Single day: 200 NOK ( 20) Friday Sunday: 500 NOK ( 50)

Please be aware that video, moving images or a series of single pictures or images that resemble video or moving pictures created from inside the venue at the FIS Ski Flying Championships are not permitted. Media may feature still photographs on their Internet sites provided such pictures are not animated by any effect or rotated in such a way as to be sequential. Photo armband and photo zones Accredited photographers should register at the Main Media Centre upon arrival. The photographer armband will be issued upon signing of the Vikersund waiver and Infront waiver. Please make sure to return the photo armband at the end of the event. Coverage of the international press conferences in the MMC is allowed. The web cam sticker will be handed out in person by a representative from the Right Holder company Infront. Online Media WITHOUT accredited cameras Filming without camerastickers will lead to immediate expulsion from the arena. The K 15 and K 25 also have plastic facilities for summer competitions and training. The fall of 2016 building of a new K 65 started. It is located between the K 105 and K 200. World Record of m K point: 200 meters Hill Size: 225 meters Length from top of the hill to end of the outrun: 570 meters Length of the inrun: 134 meters Angle of inrun: 36 degrees Distance between take off area to fall limit: 272 meters Angle of landing area (the steepest part): 38 degrees Angle K Point: 35 degrees Angle HS 225: 32 degrees Angle take off area: 10,8 degrees Height difference from the take off area to the K point: m Height difference from the take off area to fall limit: 135 meters Total height difference between top starting point and fall limit: m Width outrun by HS 225: 41 meters Velocity at take off: approx. 102 km/h. History of Vikersund Hill Records The first hill record was 85 metres and was made in 1936 by the Kongsberg jumper Hilmar Myhra. There have been three world records made in the Vikersund Hill.

16 History of Vikersund Hill Records The first hill record was 85 metres and was made in 1936 by the Kongsberg jumper Hilmar Myhra. There have been three world records made in the Vikersund Hill. The famous Bjørn Wirkola in 1966(146m), followed the year after by the Austrian Reinhold Bachler who increased it to 154 meters. The standing world record of 246,5 meters was made by Johan Remen Evensen (Norway) during the trial WC in The continental cup in 2004 marked the first time female athletes were allowed to jump in the Vikersund hill. Anette Sagen here made the hill record of 174,5 meter. This is the longest standing jump made by a woman in Norway, but not a world record, as Daniela Iraschko (aut) jumped 200 meters in Kulm Ahead of the team competition in the world cup 14/ the official hill record was 214,5. (M. Uhrmann, GER, 12/01/2007). In the same competition Martin Koch (AUT) jumped 220,5 metres, but fell. Unofficial record was 219m (Roland Müller, AUT, continental cup 6/3 2004). During a world cup competition 14th march 2009 Martin Koch first improved the official hill record to 216,5m, before Harry Olli (FIN) jumped 219 meters. In the final jump of the competition Gregor Schlierenzauer reached 224 meters, but fell. After the last expansion of the hill Andreas Vilberg jumped 220,5 meter during test jumping 10/ During the trial WC in 2011 Johan Remen Evensen made a world record jump of 243 meters in the test rounds the 11/2, before improving it to 246,5 meters during qualifications the same day. In 2015, Peter Prevc crossed the magical 250 meter line during the first day of the WC competition. Anders Fannemel exceeded him the next day and made the world record at 251,5 meters. During the first Raw Air tournament, on 18/3 2017, Robert Johansson beat Fannemels record from 2015 and landed on 252 meters. He was quickly surpassed later in the round by Stefan Kraft, with a jump of 253,5 meters. This made for the 6th official world record in a row set in the Vikersund hill. 16

The first female skijumper was 16 year old Ingrid Olsdatter Vestby, who jumped in a competition in Nordbybakken in Trysil, January Her score is unknown. Since 1936 all world records have been made in one of the five modern Ski Flying hills: Planica (Slovenia), Oberstdorf (Germany), Bad Mitterndorf (Austria), Vikersund (Norway) and Harrachov (Czech Republic). From 1987 to 2005 all world records for men were made in Planica. 17
