6 General information The Madona district has experience in Organizing big events: Each year, the Latvian championships in biathlon and Cross-country Ski-O Wcup and WMOC Each year, popular skiing maratons (700 participants) Scandivian cup cross country

7 Madona district One of the Madona district export goods are tourism services In district are developed the following types of tourism: 1) Nature tourism, including ecotourism. 2) Active and Sport tourism, - especially marks out the winter leisure, - Madona district has 16% of all Latvian ski tracks, - It also offer slalom, snowboard and cross-country skiing tracks. 3) Rural tourism. 4) Cultural tourism. 5) Health tourism (SPA resort "Marciena Manor"). 6) In district the largest tourism services segment consists of tourist accommodation.

8 Sports centre Smeceres sils Winter offer: * cross-country skiiing trails (1-5km) * popular skiing track ( 12km) * biathlon, lighted shooting range (30 goals) * instructor * rent of skiing equipment * tracks are prepared to retrack In sports centre Smeceres sils regulary takes place a skii competition of differenet scales. In 2010 happened Scandivian cup cross country 2010/11. Smecersils evolving construction of a new judge's (service) house

9 Competition Center Ski sport centre Smeceres sils in new service home close to the ski stadium. Town hall with a capacity of 1'000 places is available for the final banquet

10 Accomodation Hotels: 928 beds within 30km distance 10 hotels,13 guest houses, 11 holiday homes (20-35 per person per night includes breakfast and dinner). Alternative Housing Hostel (7-15 per night)
