1 Volume 34 No.10 October 2008 Commander s Message I want to start out this month by thanking Bob and Kathy Shultz for hosting our monthly meeting at their home. It was nice to see everyone that attended. The food was great and so was the opportunity to visit with all of you. I also want to especially thank Steve Gibson, Richard Kempf and Gary Magnuson for helping out with the Clinton Lake Sail Association s annual GLOW Regatta this past weekend. The races were fun to watch and, fortunately, all that was needed this year was our presence. There were 3 races held on Saturday. Unfortunately, due to a lack of wind, there were none held on Sunday. Dinner for our crew was provided by the CLSA GLOW committee and it was great. Thanks again for your help! Judy Magnuson is hard at work with our upcoming October meeting that will be held at Conklin s Dinner Theater on the 17 th. I hope to see many of you there. I m sure it will be a good time. The District 20 Fall Conference is also coming up on the 24 th, 25 th and 26 th of October in Lisle. Mid-Illini is responsible for the table decorations for the luncheon this year. We have 4 delegates that will be attending the conference and could use a couple more. Please let me know if you can attend, at least for the conference meeting on Saturday the 25 th, and help us fill our delegate quota of 6. With the boating season for this year coming to an end I hope that all of you were able to spend a lot of time on the water and have created some special memories this season. Check the calendar of upcoming events and plan to join us at our fall and winter meetings. We would love to see you and hope you will be able to join us.
