3 NSW Swimming has implemented an online entry system for all Carnivals. We are requesting that our members please still submit all entries through the Race Secretary, Cherie Gregory, for the reasons of being able to contact all of our members who have entered a Carnival should their be a change to the details of this Carnival. This way, the Race Secretary will be able to contact all involved to inform them of any changes that may have occurred and you are not turning up to a cancelled event or at the wrong time. We thank you for your co-operation with this matter. A huge Thank you to Sargents Pies for supplying the lunch to feed the hungry volunteers at our Open Water Meet last Saturday.. Nominations are being accepted from financial members 14years and over for the male and female club captain positions for the 2009/2010 club year. The club captains and vice captains shall; Be actively involved and promote the Ripples St Marys swimming club and it`s activities. Encourage and support all swimmers. Represent all swimmers at committee level where necessary. Be a good role model and leader. There are 4 leadership positions available, -Male and female club captains -Male and female club vice captains. Please see the race secretary or a member of the race committee to nominate yourself for a club captain leadership role. Nominees need to supply a passport size photo and a resume (about 120 words). Nominations will close on Monday 9 th November at the end of club night. With voting taking place at club on Monday 23 th November. Thankyou Race Committee

4 Another big Thank you to all the families who donated their time to help out on the weekend at our Open Water Meet. Your help was greatly appreciated. Swimmers under the age of 16 must have adequate supervision (by a person aged 16 or older) in attendance for the duration of Club night and carnivals. Any swimmers being identified in attendance at either a carnival or a Club night without adequate supervision, will not be allowed to compete until his/her parent/carer arrives to assume the supervisory responsibility for that swimmer. Thank you to the families who came forward last club night to volunteer. Ripples St Marys Swimming Club is run on a volunteer basis and all families are required to assist with club night duties. 5 GR19 SWIMWEAR FINA GR5 GR19.1 GR FINA GR5.1 General Swimsuit Guidelines The swimwear (swimsuit, cap and goggles) of all swimmers shall be in good moral taste and suitable for the individual sports discipline. GR From 1st December 2009, All swimwear shall be non-transparent and must be a FINA ap proved swimsuit; or GR From 1st December 2009, until otherwise directed by the Company, swimmers may wear traditional swimsuits provided the suits meet the following criteria: (i) (ii) (iii) Men s swimwear may not extend above the navel or below the groin. Women s swimwear shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulders or below the groin. No zippers or other fastening devices are allowed except for a waist tie on tradi tional swimsuits. Suits must be of textile material and must not contain any non textile material such as polyurethane or neoprene. GR FINA GR5.4 GR GR19.2 GR GR The Referee of a competition has the authority to exclude any competitor whose swimsuit does not comply with this Rule. From 1st April 2009 Swimwear is limited to one (1) swimsuit Additional Swimsuit Guidelines for Age Group Events All swimwear worn by competitors in Age Group Events (18 & under) conducted in NSW by Swimming NSW and any Member Associations shall be commercially available products. Swimwear worn by competitors in Age Group Events conducted in NSW by Swimming NSW and any Member 2Associations shall conform to the following design effective 1st April 2009 (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) Men s swimwear is limited to one (1) swimsuit that covers at most the body surface from hips to knee. Swimwear may not extend above the waist or below the knees; Women s swimwear is limited to one (1) swimsuit that is of open back and open shoulder designs that may extend down to the knee. Swimwear must not extend below the knees. Swimwear must not have a zipper or any type of fastening system except for a waist tie on traditional swimsuits. Suits must be of textile material and must not contain any non textile material such as polyurethane or neoprene. THESE RULES WILL BE IMPOSED AT CLUB FROM TONIGHT, 9 NOVEMBER 2009
