To ensure proper opertion of this importnt sfety devie, test ording to the following instrutions per eletril onfigurtion. 230 volt, permnently instlled or onverted models: A ground terminl is provided on the terminl lok (TB-1, system ground terminl) loted inside the ontrol ox. To redue the risk of eletri shok, onnet this terminl to the grounding terminl of your eletril servie or supply pnel with ontinuous green, insulted opper wire. The wire must e equivlent in size to the iruit ondutors supplying the equipment. In ddition, onding terminl (pressure wire onnetor) is provided on the outside of the ontrol ox for onding to lol ground points. To redue the risk of eletri shok, this onnetor should e onded with No. 8 AWG (8.4 mm²) solid opper wire to ny metl ldders, wter pipes, or other metl within 5 feet (1.5 m) of the sp to omply with lol requirements. The mens of disonnetion must e redily essile, ut must e instlled t lest 5 feet (1.5 m) from the sp. Your sp is provided with suitly rted iruit reker to open ll ungrounded supply ondutors. Your sp uses ground fult iruit interrupters in the eletril supnel. Before eh use of the sp nd with the unit operting, push the TEST utton on eh reker. The swith should lik over to the Trip position. Wit 30 seonds nd reset eh GFCI reker y swithing it ompletely off nd then ompletely on. The swith should then sty on. If either of the interrupters does not perform in this mnner, it is n indition of n eletril mlfuntion nd the possiility of n eletri shok. Disonnet the power until the fult hs een identified nd orreted. IMPORTANT: Filure to wit 30 seonds efore resetting the GFCI my use the sp s Power Inditor (on the ontrol pnel) to link. RISKS TO AVOID DANGER - RISK OF INJURY To redue the risk of injury to persons, DO NOT remove sution fittings (filter stndpipes) loted in the filter omprtment. The sution fittings in the sp re sized to mth the speifi wter flow reted y the pump. Never reple sution fitting with one rted less thn the flow rte mrked on the originl sution fitting. HEALTH PROBLEMS AFFECTED BY SPA USE Pregnnt women should onsult physiin efore using sp. Persons suffering from oesity, or with medil history of hert disese, low or high lood pressure, irultory system prolems, or dietes should onsult physiin efore using sp. AVOIDING THE RISK OF HYPERTHERMIA Prolonged immersion in hot wter n result in HYPERTHERMIA, dngerous ondition whih ours when the internl temperture of the ody rehes level ove norml 98.6 F (37 C). The symptoms of hyperthermi inlude unwreness of impending hzrd, filure to pereive het, filure to reognize the need to exit the sp, physil inility to exit the sp, fetl dmge in pregnnt women, nd unonsiousness resulting in dnger of drowning. WARNING The use of lohol, drugs, or medition n gretly inrese the risk of ftl hyperthermi in hot tus nd sps. TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY The wter in the sp should never exeed 104 F (40 C). Wter tempertures etween 100 F nd 104 F (36 C nd 40 C) re onsidered sfe for helthy dult. Lower wter tempertures re reommended for extended use (exeeding ten minutes) nd for young hildren. Extended use n use hyperthermi. Pregnnt or possily pregnnt women should limit sp wter tempertures to 100 F (36 C). Filure to do so my result in permnent injury to your y. AVOIDING THE RISK OF SKIN BURNS To redue the risk of injury, efore entering sp the user should mesure the wter temperture with n urte thermometer. The sign, whih is required s ondition of Produt Listing, should e permnently instlled where it is visile to the users of the sp. DO: Use nd lok the vinyl over when the sp is not in use, whether it is empty or full. Follow the Sp Cre nd Mintenne reommendtions stted in this mnul. Use only pproved essories nd reommended sp hemils nd leners. DON'T: Leve the CALDERA sp exposed to the sun without wter or the over in ple. Exposure to diret sunlight n use solr distress of the shell mteril. Roll or slide the sp on its side. This will dmge the siding. Lift or drg the vinyl over y using the over lok strps; lwys lift or rry the over y using the hndles. Attempt to open the eletril ontrol ox. There re no user serviele prts inside. Opening of the ontrol ox y the sp owner will void the wrrnty. If you hve n opertionl prolem, refully go through the steps outlined in the Trouleshooting setion. If you re not le to resolve the prolem, ontt your uthorized CALDERA deler. Mny prolems n esily e dignosed over the telephone y n Authorized Servie Tehniin. SPA SHELL Your CALDERA sp hs n ryli shell. Stins nd dirt generlly will not dhere to your sp s surfe. A soft rg should esily remove most dirt. Most household hemils re hrmful to your sp s shell (see elow for detiled informtion on lening gents). Alwys rinse off ny sp shell lening gent with fresh wter. IMPORTANT: 1. The following produts re the ONLY pproved lening gents for your CALDERA sp shell: plin wter, CALDERA Monrh Sp Shine, Brillinize or Soft Sru. The use of lohol or ny other household lener other thn those listed to len the sp shell surfe is NOT reommended. DO NOT use ny lening produts ontining rsives or solvents sine they my dmge the shell surfe, speifilly: Simple Green, Windex or Sp Mitt. NEVER USE HARSH CHEMICALS! 8 HYDRO JETS ADAPTAFLO Jets - These jets llow you to rediret the jet strem y hnging the position of the nozzle. ADAPTAFLO Jet VERSASSAGE Jets - These jets my e djusted to provide either sttionry, diret strem or, y positioning the nozzle to one side or the other, rotting jet strem. The VERSASSAGE jets llow you to regulte the fore of the mssge. Rotte the fsi ring ounter-lokwise to redue the fore, or lokwise to inrese the fore. Notie tht turning off the flow to some jets inreses the flow to the other jets. To void dmge to your sp s pluming nd omponents, do not turn off more thn hlf of these jets t the sme time. For lening instrutions, see the VERSASSAGE Jets ADAPTASSAGE Jets - These jets provide rotting mssge pttern. ADAPTASSAGE Jet The fe pltes in the ADAPTAFLO jets nd the ADAPTASSAGE jets re interhngele. To remove ADAPTASSAGE fe plte, turn it ounter-lokwise until it stops turning. Turn the fe one more until you her liking noise, push it in, nd then pull it stright off. Instll the fe plte y snpping it into ple. Additionl ADAPTASSAGE dul-port nozzles re ville from your CALDERA deler. Both the ADAPTAFLO nd ADAPTASSAGE jets llow you to regulte the fore of the mssge. Rotte the fsi ring to redue or inrese the fore. Notie tht turning off the flow to some jets inreses the flow to the other jets. Euro Diretionl - The Euro Diretionl jets, with eyell nozzles, deliver diret, more foused mssge. Euro Diretionl Jet EURO-PULSE Jets - The EURO-PULSE jets feture speil insert tht retes soft, pulsting, rotry mssge. NOTE: Plese do not ttempt to rotte the jet fe on either the Euro Diretionl, or EURO-PULSE s these jets do not regulte the fore of the mssge. EURO-PULSE Jet Mintenne setion. ORBISSAGE Jets - This jet provides unique, pulsting mssge. The flow is djustle in tht it n e turned ompletely off or on (y rotting the jet feplte). It is lso interhngele with the VERSASSAGE jet. For lening or replement instrutions see VERSASSAGE Jets in the Sp Cre nd Mintenne setion. ORBISSAGE Jet VERSASSAGE Jet DIVERTER VALVES The diverter vlves on your sp llow you to diret the flow of wter from the pumps to vrious omintions of jets. The funtions of these diverter vlves n est e lerned y experimenttion s follows: Set ll ir ontrols to the ON position. Turn on oth pumps. Turn the hndle on eh diverter vlve nd see whih groups of jets re ffeted. (Note tht you n djust the diverter vlves to ny position etween the two possile extremes to hieve the jet pressure tht feels est to you.) IMPORTANT: Your sp is not designed to provide full power to ll jets when the diverter vlves re in the mid position. However, with the diverter vlve in this position, you my inrese the power to seleted jets y rotting the fe of the ADAPTAFLO nd ADAPTASSAGE jets to lose the ones tht re not in use. TIP: Turn oth pumps on nd ple the diverter vlves to the Mid- Position. Then experiment with eh of the ir ontrols to see their effet. Getting Strted Pge 5

9 ACQUARELLA WATERFALL VALVE Your sp is equipped with the ACQUARELLA wterfll feture. It is tivted y turning on Jet Pump 2 (either low or high speed). The flow is regulted y turning the wterfll vlve on the inside wll of the sp. NOTE: On the CANTABRIA, Jet Pump 1 tivtes the wterfll to the left of the min ontrol pnel, nd Jet Pump 2 tivtes the wterfll to the right of the min ontrol pnel. AIR CONTROLS Eh jet system hs its own ir ontrol. These llow you to hnge the power of the jets y regulting the mount of ir tht is mixed with the wter oming out of the jets. ATLAS NECK JET VALVE All UTOPIA sps (exept TAHITIAN) re equipped with 4 diretionl nek jets underneth the pillow of the EstSet. Two of these jet nozzles (loted ove the wterline) n e ngled to position tht is omfortle for you. The flow of these nek jets n e regulted y turning the ATLAS Nek Jet vlve on the inside wll of the sp. CALDERA LOGO LIGHT The CALDERA logo on the front of the sp illumintes ornge nd gry olor. These olors indite the power nd redy sttus of the sp without hving to open the over to look t the ontrol pnel. Gry inditor - Power to sp is on Ornge inditor - Wter is redy, within 2 F of set temperture Ornge Inditor: The ORANGE inditor will light when the sp wter temperture is within 2 F (1 C) of the set temperture, nd will turn off when the temperture is outside of tht rnge. If you inrese or derese the temperture setting of the sp, the redy inditor will turn off until the wter temperture rehes the eptle rnge for the new temperture setting. A flshing ORANGE inditor mens prolem my exists with the temperture sensor (see Trouleshooting setion for more informtion). Gry Inditor: The GRAY inditor is on when the sp is properly supplied with power. It lso provides dignosti funtion flshing GRAY inditor indites tht the heter high limit hs tripped, mening tht either the sp wter is ove its eptle temperture rnge, or mlfuntion hs ourred within the sp (suh s low irultion due to logged filters). An off GRAY inditor mens tht there is prolem with the sp ontrol ox or the power supplied to the sp (see Trouleshooting setion for more informtion). QUICK START-UP INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU FILL YOUR SPA Mke sure your sp hs een properly instlled per ll lol odes, this inludes the lotion of the sp, the foundtion of the sp s well s the eletril instlltion of the sp. Instlltion instrutions in the form of Pre-Delivery Instrution ooklet n e otined from either your CALDERA deler or online. DO: Know whih wter tretment system you will e using nd mke sure you hve neessry hemils ville. Red ll of the instrutions tht ome with the system. Hve MONARCH 5-wy Test Strips Aville. Hve ph/alklinity Up & Down ville. Know the "Hrdness" of your wter, ontt your deler to help you with this informtion. See Wter Qulity nd Mintenne for more informtion. IMPORTANT: Wtkins Mnufturing Corportion does not reommend tht the sp e filled with softened wter, s this my dmge the sp s equipment. Purhse the Clen Sreen pre-filter to remove unwnted ontminnts from the tp wter. This is reommended, not required. DON'T: Power up the sp until it hs een filled with wter! 10 1. CLOSE DRAIN, remove the filter omprtment over, skimmer sket, weir, nd filter. Fill your sp through the filter omprtment using the ClenSreen pre-filter tht tthes to your grden hose. The wter level of your sp should e mintined t level one inh ove the highest jet in the sp. Reinstll the filter nd then the skimmer sket, nd weir one the sp is filled. IMPORTANT: Wtkins Mnufturing Corportion does not reommend tht the sp e filled with softened wter, s this my dmge the sp s equipment. 2. AFTER THE SPA HAS BEEN FILLED with wter nd the equipment omprtment door is seured, power must e pplied to the sp. FIRST tivte power to the supnel from the min house pnel. NEXT open the door of the eletril supnel nd reset the GFCI reker. FINALLY, lose nd seure the supnel door. 3. TO CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE JET SYSTEM nd to purge ny remining ir from the heting system omplete the following steps: Press the soft utton next to Jet Mx to ple oth jet pumps on High. One the jet system is fully opertionl (s indited y strong, non-surging jets), priming of the sp is omplete To turn off the jets, press the soft utton next to All Off on the home sreen to turn ll funtions off simultneously If you do not feel stedy strem of wter from your jets, refer to the instrutions for priming the pump in the SPA TROUBLESHOOTING setion. IMPORTANT: Be sure tht the diverter is in the middle position. 4. SET THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL to the desired temperture etween 100 F (38 C) nd 104 F (40 C), then ple the sp over on the sp nd llow the wter temperture to stilize (pproximtely 24 hours). Mke sure you seure the over in ple using the over loks. Periodilly hek the sp wter temperture. When the wter temperture lims ove 90 F (32 C), proeed to the next step. The sp temperture is pre-progrmmed to reh 100F (39 C), nd will normlly do so within 18 to 24 hours. You my hnge the wter temperture y pressing the OPTION hrd utton then press the soft utton next to Temperture, (press soft utton next to on the ontrol pnel to rise the temperture, or lower temperture y pressing soft utton next to ). After few hours, the wter temperture will remin within 3 F (1.5 C) of your seleted temperture. 5. USING A TEST STRIP AND APPLICABLE CHEMICALS djust Totl Alklinity (TA) to ppm, Clium Hrdness (CH) to ppm, then sp wter ph to etween 7.2 nd 7.8. These proedures re listed in the Wter Qulity nd Mintenne setion. OPERATION NOTE: Adjusting the Totl Alklinity s the first step is importnt, s out-of lne TA will ffet your ility to djust the ph orretly nd will prevent the snitizer from operting effetively. IMPORTANT: Ativte the Clen yle (Press the soft utton next to CLEAN on the home sreen) efore dding sp wter hemils diretly into the filter omprtment. Mke sure ll diverter vlves re set to the middle position. 6. IF USING FROG: Dil the minerl rtridge to setting 6 nd snp into the top spe of the rtridge holder. Dil the romine rtridge to setting 3 nd snp into the ottom spe of the rtridge holder. Chlorine, see tle on pge 4 Operting Instrutions. 7. IF NOT SMARTCHLOR SYSTEM, SUPERCHLORINATE THE SPA WATER y dding 1½ tespoons of MONARCH hlorine (sodium dihlor) per 250 gllons (950 liters) of sp wter, then tivte the Clen yle y pressing the soft utton next to CLEAN on the home sreen. 8. IF NOT SMARTCHLOR SYSTEM, TEST THE SPA WATER FOR CHLORINE RESIDUAL. If the residul is etween 3 nd 5 ppm on the test strips, go on to the next step. If the residul is less thn 3 ppm, tivte the Clen yle, nd then retest, dd more hlorine s neessry. IMPORTANT: For Cnd, if you re only using the FROG romine rtridge, your romine levels should e etween ppm. WARNING: High snitizer levels n use disomfort to the user s eyes, lungs nd skin. The shok tretment quikly destroys ny remining ontminnts while revitlizing the romine in the wter. To weekly shok tret your sp, we reommend tht you use either MONARCH MPS Plus or sodium dihlor (hlorine). 15 VACATION WATER CARE INSTRUCTIONS If you pln to e wy from home, follow these instrutions to ensure tht the wter qulity of your sp is mintined: SHORT TIME PERIODS (3-5 DAYS): 1. Adjust the ph y following the instrutions outlined in the Wter Qulity nd Mintenne setion. 2. Snitize the wter y following the shok proedures lso listed in the Wter Qulity nd Mintenne setion. 3. Lok your over in ple using the overloks. 4. Upon your return, snitize the wter y following the shok proedures, nd lne the ph. Fom Inhiitors Sp wter requires hnging due to the uildup of sop in the wter. Typilly, sop will use the sp wter to fom when the jets re used. Sop is introdued into the sp wter from two soures: users odies, whih retin sop residul fter showering, nd swimming pprel, whih retins sop fter wshing. Fom inhiitors n suppress fom, ut nnot remove sop from the wter. Sop is very diffiult to remove from the wter euse sop is not oxidized y ny hemil dded to the sp. Only ozone n oxidize sop. Eventully the sop uild-up in the wter will e onentrted, resulting in n unlen feeling on the ther s skin, whih is impossile to remedy. When this ours, it s time to drin nd refill the sp. Depending on the sop input, the wter should lst out four months efore needing to e drined. LONG TIME PERIODS (5-14 DAYS): Prior to leving: 1. At lest one dy efore you leve, set the temperture to its lowest level. Generlly, orrosion is used y low ph or y wter with levels of TA, CH, ph or snitizer whih re outside the reommended rnges. Hlogen: Any one of these five elements: fluorine, hlorine, romine, iodine, nd sttine. MPS: Monopersulfte is non-hlorine oxidizer. Nitri Aid: The formultion of nitri id, highly orrosive hemil, is yprodut of the ozone generting proess. Nitri id is produed in very smll quntities nd is redily dissolved in the wter strem with ozone. JETS Hrd Button Soft Button LIGHTS Hrd Button Soft Button READY Inditor: The READY inditor will disply when the sp wter temperture is within 2 F (1 C) of the set temperture, nd will turn off when the temperture is outside of tht rnge. If you inrese or derese the temperture setting of the sp, the redy inditor will turn off until the wter temperture rehes the eptle rnge for the new temperture setting. A flshing READY inditor mens prolem my exists with the temperture sensor (see Trouleshooting setion for more informtion) Sp Light Inditor: The Sp Light inditor is displyed when ny light inside the sp is on. The inditor ion will remin solid s long s ny mnul light is tivted. Sp Light ion will flsh only when Auto Exterior Light feture is operting the light. Sp or Temperture Lok Inditor: The Sp or Temperture Lok inditor is displyed when either the Sp Lok, Temperture Lok or oth re tivted. Lok inditor does not flsh. LIGHTS - If lights re off, press LIGHTS hrd utton from ny sreen to turn on ll lights nd disply the Lighting Options menu. Continue to press the LIGHTS hrd utton to yle through lights zones. OPTIONS - Trnsitions to the Options sreen to ess temperture nd setup menu BACK - Goes k one menu. In Home sreen Hold BACK utton until sreen rottes 180 to view from inside sp. Repet to reverse. INDICATOR ICONS At glne, the inditor ions re visile on the min ontrol pnel. The inditor ions work independently from the rest of the ontrol pnel disply. They re displyed so tht you my know the sttus of your sp t glne. NOTE: Inditors will not e visile when Min Control Pnel goes into sleep mode. Summer Timer Inditor: The Summer Timer inditor is displyed when the summer timer is set to ON. In summer timer mode, the heter nd irultion pump yle re off for eight hours. The Summer Timer inditor will not flsh. POWER Inditor: The POWER inditor is on when the sp is properly supplied with power. It lso provides dignosti funtion flshing power inditor indites tht the heter high limit hs tripped, mening tht either the sp wter is ove its eptle temperture rnge, or mlfuntion hs ourred within the sp (suh s low irultion due to logged filters). When the power inditor is not displyed it mens tht there is prolem with the sp ontrol ox or the power supplied to the sp (see Trouleshooting setion for more informtion). HOME SCREEN The temperture displyed in the enter of the Home sreen is the tul temperture of the sp wter. If the READY ion is displyed nd solid on the ontrol pnel, then the tul sp temperture is within 2 F (1 C) of the set temperture. CLEAN Provided s onvenient timer for wter mintenne, this funtion tivtes the jet pump on high for ten minute period. The jet ion will flsh to indite the jet pump is engged nd in the Clen yle. During this yle dd properly mesured sp wter hemils into the filter omprtment. The jet pump nd len ion will utomtilly shut off fter ten minutes. TEMPERATURE CONTROL The set temperture rnge is from 80 F to 104 F (26 C to 40 C). (The wter temperture of ny sp my rise or lower slightly depending on the urrent use nd ondition of your sp nd on outside tempertures.) The set temperture of the sp wter will utomtilly e 100 F (38 C) the first time power is pplied. This is the setting progrmmed t the ftory. After the sp hs een set up nd used, the lst temperture vlue set y the user will e stored in memory. If power is disonneted from the sp, it will utomtilly revert to the lst set temperture when power is repplied. To disply the set temperture of the sp: Press the OPTIONS hrd utton on the Min Control pnel. Press the soft utton next to Temperture. The set temperture sreen will e displyed. This sreen will utomtilly revert to the Home sreen fter 45 seonds of non-use. To inrese the set temperture of the sp wter: Press the OPTIONS hrd utton on the Min Control pnel. Press the soft utton next to Temperture. Press the soft utton next to. Eh time the utton is pressed, the set temperture disply will inrese y 1 F. If the utton is held down, the set temperture disply will inrese y.5 F every hlf-seond. To derese the set temperture of the sp wter: Press the OPTIONS hrd utton on the Min Control pnel. Press the soft utton next to Temperture. Press the soft utton next to. Eh time the utton is pressed, the set temperture disply will derese y one degree. If the utton is held down, the set temperture disply will derese y one degree every hlfseond. If the set temperture vlue does not hnge, hek to see whether the TEMP LOCK or SPA LOCK fetures re on. When either of these fetures is tivted, the temperture ontrol is disled. The temperture n e displyed in Fhrenheit or Celsius. Press the soft utton next to the F/ C to hoose one or the other. LOCKING FEATURES The two loking fetures, Temperture Lok nd Sp Lok, re tivted t the min ontrol pnel. One tivted, lok will remin tive until the speifi utton omintion is pressed to disle the lok. Even if power to the sp is disonneted even riefly, the lok will remin tivted. Operting Instrutions Pge 15 TEMPERATURE LOCK When tivted, the Temperture Lok feture prevents hnge in your desired wter temperture setting. All other funtions on the min nd uxiliry ontrol pnels will operte normlly while the temperture lok is "ON". This feture prevents others from hnging the desired settings. To tivte the Temperture Lok: Press the OPTIONS hrd utton on the Min Control pnel. Press the soft utton next to Temperture. Press the soft utton next to Temp Lok Off to hnge the sreen to Temp Lok On. IMPORTANT: The Temperture/Sp lok ion will e displyed during temperture lok ondition. To detivte the Temperture Lok: Press the OPTIONS hrd utton t the Min Control pnel. Press the soft utton next to Temperture Press the soft utton next to Temp Lok On to hnge the sreen to Temp Lok Off nd turn the Temperture lok nd ion off. LOCK OVERRIDE The Lok Override feture is for sp users who normlly keep the set temperture loked. Should you wish to lok ll sp ontrols temporrily, the sp lok n e pplied over n lredy-pplied temperture lok. Then, when the sp lok is removed, the temperture lok will remin on to prevent unwnted tmpering with the set temperture. SPA LOCK When tivted, the Sp Lok feture disles ll funtions on the min nd uxiliry ontrol pnels. It prevents others from tmpering with the jets, lights nd temperture settings on your sp. The ontrol pnel will not respond to ny hrd or soft uttons when in Sp Lok mode. To tivte the Sp Lok: Press the OPTIONS hrd utton. Press the soft utton next to Set-up. Press the soft utton next to Sp Lok Off. IMPORTANT: The Temperture/Sp Lok ion will e displyed during sp lok ondition. To detivte the Sp Lok: Press nd hold the OPTIONS hrd utton nd the LIGHTS hrd utton t the sme time for 3 seonds. The sp lok will e disled nd the ion will turn off. IMPORTANT: You n tivte the sp lok feture even when the temperture lok is lredy on. You do not need to turn off the temperture lok in order to turn on the sp lok feture. If the temperture lok is lredy on when you tivte the sp lok, it will remin on when you turn off the sp lok. JETS CONTROL The JETS hrd utton tivtes the jet pump(s). When the JETS hrd utton is pressed, the jets menu will e displyed on the ontrol pnel with low speed on Jet 2 turned on, the Jet Pump ion will lso e displyed.

The irultion pump will remin on for pproximtely 5 minutes pushing wter through the heter to ool it down. Both heter nd irultion pump will then remin off for eight hours. The summer timer ion will e displyed on the min ontrol pnel nd will remin displyed for s long s the summer timer mode is on. The irultion pump nd heter will utomtilly shut down for the sme eight hours every dy until the summer timer is detivted. It is reommended to tivte the summer timer in the morning so tht the sp is off during the hottest prt of the dy nd so tht the irultion pump will strt up gin in the evening when you re redy to enjoy the sp. IMPORTANT: The summer timer will not lower the sp s wter temperture elow the mient ir temperture. Amient onditions, inluding humidity, wind nd shding will ffet your sp wter temperture. To tivte the Summer Timer, simply follow these steps: Press the OPTIONS Hrd utton on the Min Control pnel. Press the soft utton next to Set up. Press the soft utton next to Summer Timer to tivte. The Summer timer ion will disply when tivted. IMPORTANT: If wter temperture flls elow 80 F (26.7 C) the summer timer will utomtilly e disled. Regulr mintenne nd following the dvie in this setion will help you to protet your investment. FILTER MAINTENANCE At lest one week, hek nd len the skimmer sket nd weir to ensure proper filter flow. Remove leves, foreign mtter, nd deris. It is very importnt to keep your sp filter rtridge len nd free of prtiles to ensure proper wter flow. A len filter enles the hydrotherpy system to funtion properly nd llows for more effiient filter yles. Depending on how frequently your sp is used, we reommend lening the sp filter rtridge every four weeks. If this is not done, the filter my log nd restrit wter flow, whih uses improper filtrtion, poor jet performne nd my possily freeze. IMPORTANT: The frequeny nd durtion of use, nd the numer of oupnts ll ontriute to determining the pproprite time etween filter lenings. More use mens tht more frequent filter lenings will e required. FILTER CARTRIDGE REMOVAL AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS Turn the power to the sp off, then proeed s follows: Push down slightly nd turn filter sket ounter-lokwise to unlok, then pull out the sket nd floting weir. Crefully pull up the filter rtridge nd ring it out of the sp. FLOATING WEIR BASKET FILTER CARTRIDGE to remove ny deris lodged etween the filter plets. Re-insert filter rtridge. To return sket nd floting weir, insert nd rotte lokwise to lok into position. Then turn sp s power k on. NOTE: Replement filter rtridges re ville from your CALDERA deler. Refer to the k of this mnul to determine the pproprite size for your sp. DIVERTER VALVE MAINTENANCE If your sp s diverter vlves eome diffiult to turn, it is likely tht snd or grit is lodged inside the vlve ody. It is very importnt tht this deris is removed s soon s possile to void dmge to the vlve. To len the vlves, follow these steps: 1. Turn off power to the sp y tripping oth GFCI rekers loted in the supnel. 2. Unsrew the p ring to remove the diverter vlve s hndle s p ring omes upwrd. 3. Remove the vlve ody y pulling it upwrd. 4. Wipe the vlve ody nd the interior wlls of the vlve len. 5. Lurite the o-rings with wterproof lurint ville from your CALDERA deler. 6. Ressemle the vlve nd turn power to the sp on. VERSASSAGE JET MAINTENANCE If you notie tht the VERSASSAGE jet spins slower thn when the sp ws new, or the jets re stiking, the use my e uilt-up deposits inside the jet erings. To remove the deposits, use the following instrutions: 1. With the sp off, rotte the VERSASSAGE jet fe ounterlokwise until it stops. 2. One the fe stops rotting, use little extr fore to rotte the fe even more ounter-lokwise pst the loking position until it stops. Pull fe with the ody wy from the sp. 3. After flushing the ering inside the ody with wter, spin the rotting eye. It should spin very freely. If it does not, ple the ering end in up of vinegr (the vinegr will soften ny deposits). Allow it to sok overnight. The next dy, flush with wter nd repet the spin test. NOTE: If the jets still don't spin freely, seond night of soking mye required. If the ering still does not spin, you will need to purhse replement ssemly from your CALDERA deler. STANDPIPE FILTER SYSTEM Alwys len the filter using filter degreser to remove minerl nd oil uild-up. Simply sok the filter in the degreser (ording to the pkge diretions), then ple the filter on len surfe nd spry until len using grden hose. 29 DRAINING YOUR SPA 1. Turn off ll GFCI rekers in su-pnel, or min eletril pnel. 2. Lote the min drin vlve (ottom front) for the sp. Pull on hndle (Figure 1, pliers my e used to pull hndle) until you reh the mid position then rotte hndle slightly to fully extended drin tue (drin p nd 1 of the drin tue is exposed) (Figure 2) then remove the drin p (Figure 3). NOTE: Do not remove drin p in mid position. Atth the grden hose to the end of the drin (to void flooding of the foundtion surrounding the sp) mking sure not to push the drin tue inwrd. Route the outlet of the hose to n pproprite drining re. NOTE: Sp wter with high snitizer level my hrm plnts nd grss. 3. Push the grden hose nd drin tue hlf-wy k towrds the sp (Figure 4) whih will strt the grvittionl flow. Drin tue must e in the mid position for the sp to drin. IMPORTANT: All models will drin lmost ompletely through the drin vlve. Pull nd remove grden hose, reple drin p nd push drin tue k into sp s seen in Figure Follow the START-UP PROCEDURES to refill your sp. PREVENTION OF FREEZING Your sp hs een designed nd engineered for yer-round use in ny limte. In some res, extremely old tempertures (elow 10 F) omined with strong wind, my use prtil freezing of the jet pump, even though the wter inside the sp remins t the seleted temperture. The energy effiieny of the sp my lso derese during these old periods, s the heter will yle more frequently. As n dditionl preution ginst prtil freezing of some of the omponents, the equipment omprtment n e insulted with n insulting kit (P/N 31399) ville from your lol deler. This insulting kit will lso help to mximize the sp s energy effiieny. NOTE: When wrmer wether returns (pprox F), the insulting kit must e removed to prevent overheting of the jet pump. WINTERIZING YOUR SPA If you leve the sp unused for long period of time in severely old wether, you should drin the sp nd winterize it to void identl freezing due to power or equipment filure. DANGER: Use only Propylene Glyol s your nti-freeze (ville t most RV or mrine supply stores). This is non-toxi. Never use n utomoile nti-freeze (Ethylene Glyol) sine it is toxi! WARNING: Filure to follow these instrutions orretly n led to freeze dmge not overed y wrrnty. It is strongly reommended tht you ontt your lol deler to perform this servie. 1. Drin your sp following the Drining Your Sp setion in the owner s mnul. 2. Remove the filter rtridge, len nd store in dry ple. IMPORTANT: These dditionl instrutions must e utilized when drining nd winterizing your sp in limtes where the temperture flls elow 32 F (0 C). A five (5) gllon omintion (vuum/lower) wet/dry shop v must e used to effetively remove wter tht is trpped inside the pluming lines. 3. Atth the vuum hose to the vuum side of the shop v. Vuum ll openings nd orifies s follows:. Jet openings: strt with the jets t the top nd move downwrd (if sution is oming from nother jet, lok off the other jet using lrge rg this will help pull out the wter tht is trpped deeper inside the min line).. Filter sution fittings nd filter omprtment.. Min drin outlet (it my e neessry to over the drin grte tightly with rg when vuuming the min drin to ensure wter is drwn ompletely from the internl pluming system). 4. Thoroughly dry the sp shell with len towel. 5. Remove pump door first. One door is removed unsrew the pump drin plugs loted on the front of the pump housing. Allow ll wter to drin out. Using long-extension funnel, pour nti-freeze into ll stndpipes, filter sution fittings, jet orifies nd wter feture orifies. Also, dd nti-freeze to the FROG nister. Add enough nti-freeze to ensure dequte protetion in mny ses, you will see the liquid in the orifie, or oming out of nother lotion. CAUTION: Use only Propylene Glyol s your nti-freeze. This is non-toxi. Never use n utomoile nti-freeze (Ethylene Glyol) sine it is toxi! 9. Close the sp over nd fsten the over tie downs. Cover the sp over with two piees of plywood to evenly distriute the weight of snow nd ie. Seure plsti sheet, or trp, over the sp over nd plywood. 10. Reple the equipment ess door, if removed. OPENING INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Remove plywood nd plsti sheet. Open the sp over y unfstening the over tie downs. 2. Follow the Strt-up Proedures in the Getting Strted setion of the Owner s Mnul. This is twie the norml mount of hlorine needed for superlorintion. This extr mount of hlorine is needed to destroy the nti-freeze. NOTE: A defomer my e needed to derese the mount of fom used y the nti-freeze. 4. Drin your sp to ensure removl of nti-freeze. Do not drin wter on grss or plnts due to exessive hlorine level. 5. After the sp hs ompletely drined, re-instll your filter nd follow the Strt-up Proedures in the Getting Strted setion of the Owner s Mnul. IMPORTANT: Alwys keep sp overed when not in use, whether it is empty or full. CARE OF THE SPA PILLOWS The sp pillows will provide yers of omfort if treted with re. They hve een positioned ove the wter level to minimize the lehing effets of hlorinted wter nd other sp wter hemils. To extend their life, whenever the sp shell is eing lened, the sp pillows should e removed nd lened. Body oils n e removed with mild sop nd wter solution. ALWAYS rinse off the sp pillows thoroughly to remove ny sop residue. If the sp is not going to e used for long period of time (tht is during vtion or if the sp is winterized), or when the sp wter is eing super-hlorinted, the sp pillows should e removed until the next use of the sp. TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE SPA PILLOWS: 1. Crefully lift one end of the pillow wy from the sp shell. 2. Continue lifting one end until ll pillow retiners re relesed from the pillow. To reinstll the sp pillow, refully end the pillow slightly to llow one of the pillow retiners to slip into the reess in the k of the pillow. 4. If upon heking the GFCI s you find tht they hve not tripped, hek the house reker pnel nd ensure the min reker for the eletril iruit supplying the sp hs not tripped. If upon heking the min house reker nd sp GFCI s you find no filures, hek the high limit thermostt. To hek it, simply turn off power to the sp for 30 seonds. Sine the pump is wter ooled, it is equipped with therml ut-off to prevent the pump from eing dmged y running hot when wter is not present. Reset the irultion pump s therml ut-off y disonneting power to the sp nd llowing the pump to ool. Tripping of the therml ut-off is normlly the result of one or omintion of these prolems: 1) logged filter rtridge(s), 2) lokge within the system pluming, 3) power ws not disonneted to the sp efore it ws drined, or 4) n ir lok in the pluming lines.
