2 Coaches Soap Box Best of luck to all our swimmers competing at the 2013 Metroll Casuarina Storm Club Invitational Meet, an amazing 56 swimmers. I hope you all enjoy the recovery / speed week this week, make the most of the sleep ins. If you haven't already, make sure you have some REALISTIC goals set for yourself for the weekend, and I hope we have some outstanding racing over the 3 days. 3 Palmerston Invitational 2013 The 2013 Palmerston and Rural Invitational was held at the Palmerston Lifestyle and Aquatic Centre on Saturday 2 nd November. This is always a meet with a difference a morning and afternoon session, no relays and amazing Skins Events, and, there was no disappointment! We had 42 swimmers competing on the day, welcoming Adam Van Wessel and Emily Jones who were competing with us for the first time. The number of Cas Storm swimmers in the Skins Events was testament to their hard work well done! 4 Casuarina Storm Swimming Club s Leadership Group The Youth Leadership Group met for the first time on the 16 November. The meeting consisted of 8 newly elected representative members, Mish Oliphant and Coach Grant Pennington. The Youth Leadership Group in entrusted with guiding and strengthening the Club s youth activities, specifically in their respective training locations, swim meets and club nights. Meetings will take place fortnightly on Saturday morning, after training at Casuarina Storm club house. Next meeting will take place at 8am, 30 November, breakfast will be provided. Minutes of these meetings are available on request. To some a leader is someone who has the ability to influence others, or someone who has the ability to instill belief in others. According to other sectors of society, a leader is simply the head of the Team. Leadership is crucial in the continued development of Casuarina Storm Club s young swimmers.
