1 Enclosed please find a copy of the application for the Legends of Volleyball Award On numerous occasions, NJSIAA receives questions from a school or an organization regarding the fact that a special individual has not been considered for induction into the Legends of Volleyball. In just about every case, the individual has never been nominated by their respective school or organization. This is an outstanding opportunity to recognize, on a state-wide basis, an individual from your school community or organization who has truly been a leader and a contributor to the Girls Volleyball programs in the New Jersey. PURPOSE of the Legends of Volleyball Award To identify and recognize athletes, individuals, teams/events, through their distinguished achievements who have attained excellence and contributed a positive and dynamic impact upon the Girls Volleyball Programs in New Jersey. ELIGIBILITY Individuals: Girls Volleyball Athletes Coach Official Administrator Media Contributor Teams and events which have contributed in a unique and outstanding manner to the tradition of high school sports in New Jersey. CRITERIA (1) High school athletes, teams or events shall be eligible five (5) years after their achievement. (2) Individual nominations will be reviewed and acted upon at the discretion of the Selection Committee. NOMINATION PROCEDURE (1) Athletes, teams and events may be nominated by a member within a school community. (2) Individuals may be nominated by an organization affiliated with the NJSIAA (i.e. Officials Organization)

2 SELECTION COMMITTEE (1) Selected by the NJSIAA Executive Director and/or selected representative staff. (2) Four members plus Girls Volleyball Tournament Director SELECTION PROCESS (1) Selected nominees must receive a majority of affirmative votes of the Selection Committee for induction into the Legends of Volleyball Awards (2) Selected nominees who do not receive approval of the Selection Committee remain under consideration for five (5) years (four (4) additional years after nominations.) Thereafter, candidates must be re-nominated.
