Rob knew he was in with a chance when he drew peg 22 which has always been one of the fancied pegs. The winner put together a nice bag of fish which tipped the scales around to Rob needed all of the fish to stave off a challenge by second placed Sean Durrant who pushed all the way with Sean mixed it up with Pole and feeder and caught most of his fish close to the island. Peter Bullock also put his favoured draw to good use, fishing from peg 23 Peter put a mixed bag of Carp and Silvers onto the scales at the final whistle for Ian Rennie moved to the top of Division Two With his fourth place finish from peg 15 which Is at the far end of the Pool. Ian struggled at The start of the Five hour match but found the Fish close to island in front of him and put an All Carp catch together for Bob Hinks had his best finish for some time Finishing in Fifth position with Bob sat For three hours without a bite and then was seen taking a few tips from Dave Robinson which changed his day hooking into three nice Carp. Kieran Smith must of thought he was onto a winner but ended the match in sixth despite hooking into a carp within seconds of the start. Unfortunately we have four people missing the doubles match at Cob House. We have found One replacement at the moment and I am still working on the rest. If we do not find enough people to take the places then I will have to pair some of those missing partners together. This will be done by a draw but I will let you all know well in advance of the match. SINGLES REPORT ON PAGE FOUR

Please remember you will drop your worst result throughout the season and if for any reason you miss a match you will be awarded 10 points. If two or more are on the same number of points overall weight will decide the positions. EXEL ANGLING NEWS The 2015 dates and venues have now been booked and I hope they meet with your satisfaction. Sunday 12th April - Cob House Oak and Laurel Pools Sunday 10th May - Arden Lakes Oak Pool Sunday 31st May - Willow Marsh Dragon Fly Pool Sunday 14th June - Alvechurch Horseshoe Lake Sunday 28th June - Astwood Fishery Buddleia Pool Sunday 12th July - Coppice Lane Becketts Pool Sunday 16th August - Packington Molands Pool Sunday 13th Sept - Bonehill Mill Dales Pool Sunday 27th Sept - Alvechurch New Pool Sunday 11th October - Fisherwick Match Pool You can see we will not be visiting a couple of our regular venues next year, The Riddings and Wassell Grove. I m not sure what is happening at Wassell Grove the last I heard it was up for sale. We are returning to Arden and the new owner Hugh Mannell told me he will be making some changes to the Oak Pool before we return. BIGGEST FISH BEST WEIGHT Just to keep you up-dated with the 2014 biggest fish and best individual weight competitions. The biggest fish leader at the moment is Rob Cox who landed a superb 12-6 carp at our match at Willow Marsh. The best Individual weight was taken by Kieran Smith who put 42-8 on the scales when winning our match at Wassell Grove. Unfortunately for our guest Ian Tegg who won the match at Packington Somers with 45-3 his weight will not count because we do not allow guest anglers to win any of our trophies. So as it stands Kieran leads the way, a trophy he won in 2012 with

We had three members all level on eight points in Group D with Sean Durrant going through on the better overall weight. Sean defeated Paul Hotchkiss in the final match to lift him up to eight alongside John King who also won his final match against Juan Pereira. Another group was decided by overall weight and that was Group A with Rob Cox making the Semi s just ahead of the unlucky Dave Crosby. Only one member gained an 100% record during the Five Group matches and that was Kieran Smith in Group C. Kieran made sure of his perfect record when beating Dave Skinner at Coppice Lane. Peter Bullock will make up the final Four, Peter won Group B with three points to spare after defeating Alan Martin in the final fixture.
