2 St. Patrick's Festival will run from Thursday 16 th to Sunday 19th March 2017, with the Festival Parade taking place on Friday 17th March starting 12:00hrs, starting from Granby Row. 1. PARADE ROUTE CHANGES 2017 To facilitate the new LUAS development and the increased numbers attending the parade, St. Patricks Festival is making a number of changes to the parade route. The parade will now travel along O Connell Street EAST, O Connell Bridge EAST and on to Westmoreland Street. The parade will now extend from Patrick's Street along Kevin Street to Wexford Street/Kevin Street junction. Dispersal will be take place on Stephens Green South. St. Patricks Festival will be working alongside An Garda Síochána and Dublin City Council to manage these changes. To reduce the risk of congestion St. Patricks Festival will be encouraging the public to use D Olier Street, Rosie Hackett Bridge and Marlborough Street in order to get to their destination. LUAS SERVICES: The Festival is working closely with LUAS and Transdev Ireland in order to manage these changes efficiently and safely. LUAS services will be as per the LUAS timetable. LUAS RED line services will terminate at Smithfield during the following hours 12:00hrs - 14:00hrs, Friday 17 th March The Festival will endeavour to facilitate the re-commencement of LUAS RED line services as soon as possible after the parade passes. LUAS GREEN line services will operate as normal throughout. Please refer to transportforireland.ie or luas.ie for more information, closer to the time. * Please note these changes will be in place from 2017 and most likely for the years after this. 2. LOCATIONS OF STRUCTURES ON O CONNELL STREET & WESTMORELAND STREET O' Connell Street Structures: A special needs access viewing platform and three Grandstands on O Connell Street will be in the same locations as per previous years, but will now face the east side of the street (Clery s). A media platform will also be installed this year, on the central meridian opposite the Savoy cinema. Install of all of these structures will commence at 08:00hrs on Thursday 16 th March.
3 Westmoreland Street Structures: The three grandstands on Westmoreland Street will now be on the West side of the street (with their back facing onto Temple Bar). We will commence install of these structures at 05:00hrs on Friday 17 th March. All structures will be removed as soon as is practically possible after the parade. 3.
