3 SECRETARY S REPORT Today we welcome everyone from Wick Academy Football Club to the Bellslea for what is our first home match here. Our home matches have certainly been spread around these past three Seasons and we are grateful to Fraserbugh FC for granting us the use of their Ground this afternoon. Games are now coming thick and fast for both Clubs and will continue to do so over the next month or two. Whilst Wick were losing 2-1 to Forres Mechanics at Mosset Park on Wednesday night we were recording a fine 1-0 win over Brora Rangers at Inverurie. This was a game which should have been done and dusted by half-time. We played some superb football in the first half but our finishing was not up to our usual standard and we squandered numerous chances and were also thwarted by some good goalkeeping as well. Things were a lot more even in the second half but we edged it with a late goal from Mitch Megginson to keep our four point lead over the Broch with three games in hand. Academy are not having their best of Seasons but we know we are in for a tough afternoon. Albeit we trounced them in the corresponding fixture last Season at Inverurie games between the sides are generally close affairs and I have no doubt that today s will be similar. Everyone seemed to come through Wednesday unscathed so John should have a full Squad to select from today. Next up after this afternoon s encounter is a return trip to the Bellslea on Tuesday night to face the Broch in the semi- final of the Breedon League Cup before heading for Lossiemouth next Saturday on League business. Enjoy today s match. Duncan Little Club Secretary

8 JOHN S VIEWS Today we welcome Wick Academy for a home league game at Bellslea Park, Fraserburgh. It s really great to see Fraserburgh loan us their facilities today when considering they are one of the challengers for the league also. It really does sum up the family mentality that exists between most clubs in the league. After a tough mid-week fixture against Brora Rangers, we now have eleven league games to play including today. We are obviously up against a tight timeline to try and get the calendar completed so the league champions can be identified in time for the play offs. We are really going to need the full squad from now to the end of the season as there will be little time to recover between games. There are a few players carrying knocks and throw in the possibility of a few players being close to suspension, the squad can be depleted quite quickly. Please get behind the players today as usual. John PLAY THE COVE RANGERS FC LOTTO Sign up for your chance to win this week s jackpot! 11 VIEW FROM THE BOARDROOM Today we welcome all directors, committee, players and supporters from Wick Academy to Bellslea Park, Fraserburgh, for our scheduled home league tie. Firstly, we must thank Fraserburgh for the use of their ground to play this game today. It s not often games at the Bellslea are postponed due to weather so we are extremely grateful that we can use the facility today. We have not played Wick Academy as yet this season but we know they ll provide stern opposition as always. They have had some indifferent results this season but this is largely due to having an unsettled squad through the unavailability of key players for various reasons. Wick are always very competitive so we know we ll need to be fully focused today. The weather has proved to be a real problem of late with games getting called off due to frost, snow and waterlogged pitches. There s not much we can do about the weather but we just hope for a kinder run in as we approach the final months of the season. The demands on part time players are high nowadays anyway but when you factor in potential three game a week scenario at venues that are not exactly local, it places added stress on everyone. However, most clubs in our league are in the same position. Moving onto an important development off the park where we are delighted to announce the appointment of Angela Bruce as fulltime Commercial Manager. Angela is truly a gem of an appointment when you look at her character and history. She was a key employee with Aberdeen Football Club since April 2001 where initially her remit was to sell hospitality, sponsorship and advertising packages. Over the years the product range expanded and diversified where Angela ultimately ended up being appointed as the Commercial Team Leader in December However, with the recent re-structuring of the Commercial Department at Aberdeen Football Club, Angela has decided to move onto pastures new. Her eagerness, excitement and desire to join Cove Rangers Football Club has been impressive from the offset. This is underpinned professionally by an extensive contacts database and personal desire to deliver the best product and experience possible which places the club perfectly to maximise commercial opportunities as we look towards moving into our new home, Balmoral Stadium. This is very much a marquee appointment for the club as someone with Angela s skillset of being highly experienced in both business development and corporate account management is indeed unique. When you further consider a sales career spanning over 30-years and her involvement with Aberdeen Football Club for the past 17-years, the appointment is truly outstanding and positions the club for future growth. This will unquestionably bring a new dimension and way of thinking to our football club. Angela quoted It s almost like the stars have aligned for me! Knowing this industry and market place as I do, having a large network of contacts and a new stadium on the horizon, it s safe to say I will hit the ground running. I d like to thank the Board for their trust in me and I can assure everyone associated with CRFC that I won t let anyone down. We at Cove Rangers wish Angela all the very best as she now commences a new chapter in her career with the club. Enjoy today s game. CRFC Board of Directors
