Red ribbon week is the oldest and largest drug prevention that started in In response to the murder of DEA Agent Enrique which angered parents and youth in communities, we started wearing red ribbons as a symbol of commitment to raise awareness of killing and drugs came, and NFP sponsored the first red ribbon week. To this day, the campaign encourages children to stay away from drugs. Since that time, red ribbon week has been a tradition to convince kids to stay away from drugs. 2 Healthy Hacks and Tricks! Hello Challenger Middle school, I will be telling you some healthy tips! Listening to music Many people listen to music when exercising and this is going to be the first tip I will talk about. Listening to music can give you more effort and have more energy. You will also have in increase of energy. Don't forget Breakfast Here are some healthy breakfast ideas for on the go. Some ideas are a fruit and yogurt parfait, a breakfast burrito, and a fruit and yogurt smoothie. Make sure you sleep! Make sure you have at least 8-11 hours of sleep! It will increase your brain function, help you grow, and increase your focus. Make sure you get a lot of sleep, especially when you have a big event tomorrow. Wash your hands! Surprisingly people don't wash your hands. Surprisingly many people do not wash their hands after they go to the restroom. It will decrease bacteria, have a less chance to get sick, and will help your friends not to get sick. Healthy Snack Ideas Here are some healthy snack ideas for anytime. Some ideas are strawberries with Cool Whip, strawberries dipped in Nutella, veggies dipped in hummus, frozen grapes, pretzel sticks, frozen yogurt, and pistachios. 3 Colored Pencil Vase If you want to make a cute DIY, this is the craft for you! This is colorful centerpiece for your computer table or desk. You will need: Colored Pencils (Amount depending on how big your vase or jar is) A glass vase or jar Flowers of your choice Hot Glue Gun with glue A ribbon (optional) Steps 1. First, you are going to need your vase or jar, colored pencils, and a hot glue gun. You are going to take your hot glue gun and you are going to put little dots that are spaced all throughout the colored pencil. Then, you are going to take the colored pencil and stick it evenly on the vase or jar. For the rest of the DIY, you will be repeating this step all throughout the vase or jar. 2. Finally, you will be putting the flowers you chose in the vase. (Optional Step) If you have a ribbon, you may tie it around the bottom of the vase or jar. 3. Congratulations! He is very famous. This day will secure the culture of peace and tolerance. World Smile Day On this day, we show the world a big smile. On October 2 we introduce National Smile Day. National Smile Day was created in Harvey Ball was the one who created the smiley face. Fried Scallops Day Scallops are fish that live in salt water. Since scallops are highly priced, people only eat them occasionally. But on October 2 nd, we can all eat fried scallops. Though this day is actually unofficial holiday, we still love scallops. Name Your Car Day I know we don't have cars! But to the staff, today is National Name Your Car Day. October 2 nd is when we personalize our cars and pick out names for them. For example, we all remember Lightning McQueen from Cars, Herbie from Love Bug, and Kit from Knight Rider. Today, share your new and improved car on social media. #NameYourCarDay. 5 The San Diego Chargers It is a new season for football and our beloved San Diego Chargers have started off the year fresh. In this article, we will be talking about some of the new and old roster in the San Diego Chargers. Philip Rivers At first I thought that Philip Rivers was going to leave San Diego but then he is actually staying. He has signed a 4 year contract to be with the Chargers for $83,250,000 and 65,000,000 guaranteed. Rivers has already passed Hall of Famer for the franchise record 254. This is why the Chargers paid Rivers, 83,250,000. Keenan Allen Keenan Allen was targeted by Rivers 17 times in the game. Rivers needed someone to target since Gates wasn't there and Allen was that someone. Allen got 166 yards in the whole game, hopefully he keeps this up until Gates comes back. Melvin Gordon When we thought that Melvin Gordon scored his first touchdown, it was called that Gordon was ruled down. Gordon finished the game with 51 rushing yards with 14 carries. Since Gordon is a rookie right now, it might hard for him because there are veterans. We cannot be sure if Gordon is going to be a star player but we have hope that he is. Jacoby Jones Jacoby Jones was cut by the Baltimore Ravens recently and the Chargers were able to sign Jones to a two year contract. Right now he may not be playing at the Cincinnati Bengals because of a minor sprained ankle. He is known because he is a very great kickoff/punt returner. Antonio Gates Let s get this straight, Gates is one of the best TE (Tight Ends) but he is suspended for the first four games of the season due to the fact of DUI of drugs.
