2 Sam Logan General Manager Harvey Miller Executive Chef Although it has been a short time since my arrival, I am working hard with all departments to get a grasp of the inter-workings of each area of the Club. I want to take this opportunity to share with you some of the ideas we are working on: A quarterly Taste Around the World Wine paring. We will be sending out our buffet menus for the month in advance so you can see and plan accordingly. We are working on revamping our wine list. I am spending time with Guin, Ashley and Harvey to instill some standards and practices from some of the companies I have worked with in the past, especially Four Seasons Hotels. I am a big believer in taking care of the facility. o Once a month I do a 100% walk through the entire building for an inspection. o Each Tuesday I do a weekly walk on the Golf Course with the Head Golf Professional and Agronomist, alternating front nine and back nine. If any Member wishes to join you are very much welcome to do so. Tennis is big here, with lots of activity. I am working on spending time with Michael to grow an already thriving area. This is not the complete list, but it is a start to share with you all what we are working on. I truly believe in transparency and accountability, not only from myself, but from all of my staff. If you ever have any questions, ideas, or concerns, please flag me down or stop by the office. I know we have some challenges here, but we have opportunities to overcome those challenges. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and we are all working to shorten that tunnel. I have spoken with my parents and friends recently and across the board they all say this is the happiest I have sounded in many years. I have found a home here at WFCC. Most importantly, have a safe and happy holiday season. Season s greetings to you all. I am so pleased by this year s events and turn outs! I will continue to provide the Club with the best cuisine as well as prompt service. My staff and I are pleased to serve you with the best in quality and performance. This year I am pleased to be returning the Club wide tradition of the 12 Days of Christmas menu to usher in the Holiday with pure delight. Our club is filled with office parties and festive events which is transforming the halls into an array of smiles and laughter as we approach Christmas. I invite everyone to partake in the dining experience as your family and friends come home to celebrate this glorious holiday. The Christmas Brunch is set for the 23rd and it will be full of all your holiday favorites, so please make your reservations early. I want to say thank you for the support that you give to myself and my staff. Merry Christmas to you all; it is a true blessing to be your Chef. If you need help finding a partner, let us know and we can try to help you find a partner. December 7th we will have an Ugly Christmas Sweater Social for adults 7:00-10:00pm. Sign up by Dec. 5th! We will have food and drinks followed by a Tacky Sweater Competition! December 15th the shop will be hosting a Parent/Child Indoor Tournament! This is the first of our two events that will be benefit Toys for Tots! If you bring a toy you will have a discounted tournament entry price. These Parent/Child Tournaments are always a ton of fun, so be sure to sign up by Dec. 13th. December 21st is our second Toys for Tots event! It will be a Junior SINGLES Indoor Tournament for all levels! Sign up will come down Dec. 18th! This is also a city-wide tournament. Remember, if you bring a toy you will get a discounted entry fee! Things never really slow down on the Golf Course, we just shift gears! We have several items on the list to correct or fix on the course this winter, because it is the perfect time to do some of these projects. I would like to remind the Membership to please follow the cart post on the course. The first stake means you can enter the fairways, and the stake closest to the green means please get back on the cart paths. Please limit cart traffic in the rough as much as possible. That s right, you can drive your golf carts straight down the fairways. Maintaining turf density in the winter is very tough, please help us out by keeping cart traffic out of the rough as much as possible. Merry Christmas and have a safe and happy New Year! Our 2nd Annual Glo-Ball Golf Night was a huge success with 18 ladies attending for an evening of soups, spirits and spooky night golf out on the course! Thanks to our Pro Shop Pals Mark Greer, Bobby Stone and Jared Hotchkiss for leading us through the ghostly course. Glo-Ball Golf ! We sincerely hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.
