Extra servings: $1.00 for Entrée,.50 for Vegetables, Fruit, Juice, and. As we all know, weather plays a huge factor in transportation to KSD. Recently we ve discovered this can also affect students being fed. Therefore, to ensure students are fed, please make sure students are fed prior to leaving home if they will arrive past one of these times. Breakfast can be provided up until 10AM. I am excited to be back at KSD! I had deaf Grandparents and grew up on the campus of KSD as well as The American School for the Deaf in Connecticut. KSD has a very special place in my heart. 5 Middle School Scoop News you can Use! Oct. 6 th 9:30 A.M. Spelling Bee Oct.16 th Colonel Club meeting Oct. 16 th Book Talk during Reading Class. You will discuss the book, have activities related to the book, and a small snack. Oct. 16 th PBIS Party. FUN! Oct. 18 th Book Talk. Don t forget to read and take an AR test on your book. Each Regional DHH Spelling Bee will be held in October this year. Students have the Regional spelling bee list that everyone from the state will use for their different regions. The top students from this competition will move on to the state deaf/hard of hearing spelling bee in December. The STATE DHH Spelling Bee will be Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in Elizabethtown. They will send out the State word lists on Monday, October st period will we meet in the open area to discuss PRIDE expectations and rules. We will also show activities that we will have for the afternoon. We will announce who earns Colonel Club. The window opened Oct. 1, Parents and seniors must develop their FAFSA I.D. CTE department had a special visitor from Office of Career and Technical Education. 9 This fall our community sign language classes had a record breaking number of attendants. 118 people attended opening night. Community Sign Language Classes Many thanks to Dawn Calbert for opening remarks, Kate Clevenger for prior planning and counsel, James Overing for interpreting, and Melissa Cantrell for assisting with check-in. Also to our KSD student workers for all their assistance (Jessie Rice, Abriana Norris, Ariel Collins, & Mikeyla Crumble). Face painting, apple dunking, fishing, rolling hay, corn hole, games, corn maze, eating, playing kind of day! A great time was had by all! Sweet Corn Festival 2017 Staff Parking Lot Party I m so glad everyone enjoyed the Parking Lot Party and certainly the dogs were so much fun. Who knew it would be 88 degrees outside? Let me take a moment to give proper credit where it s due. There were many people working hard behind the scenes to get everything in place despite the heat. Let me give them a proper thank you.
